      @@GoTfan-eb8tk yes of course he wanted power and to become president. But the point is that if Walker hadn’t betrayed him, he would have supported his presidency before then making his move. It was Walker’s betrayal that caused him to rapidly accelerate his own presidential ambitions, and want to sabotage him as revenge.

      Also Roosevelt would have been entering his 3rd term in 1940, so it was an exceptional case, and he should have been challenged.

      Tbf, Jefferson and Adams hadn't been elected on the same ticket, but had actually ran against eachother in 1796.
