New Zealand Herald has made a sensationalized story of a very tragic event. Certainly not ideal weather conditions, but giving only a one sided report is not journalism.
kia ora before i start i like to send my condolences to the whanau of those families i did some research and found on march 22 2022 their were several earthquakes detected in the ocean floor at that time causing anomalies and tidal waves thus added with bad weather and high seas would create a wave to capsize the boat i googled earthquakes march 22 2022 and used bing maps to target their location
you don't know him and know what he's like he's very passionate about what he does, and i was talking to rhys and tc off cova rose they were one of the first on scene and what they showed me and said about it was next level the whole wheelhouse was ripped off all the railings gone all that was left was the hull an there were pieces of debris that were 1m by 50cm and this is in open water they didn't get pushed up against rocks or anything this was just one rogue wave and on the documentary when the guy says the wave was upwards of 10m he was telling the truth the wave that sunk them was 1 wave that just destroyed the boat in 1 motion it wouldn't of mattered if the boat was 80' you cant plan for something like that
