Thanks Eduardo! Yes in British English practice with a c is the spelling when used as a noun but the verb to practise is spelt with an s. The American English spelling is a c for both. Thanks for your support :)
Hi Laurense, can you please explain a simple thing. If I say 'the wheel rolls down the road' then it would be rolls, but when we add a Let, example, 'let the wheel roll down the road' then we use roll.. I need to know the explanation, why it is happening. Why the verb looses the s when added with the word 'let' . Thanks.
Oliver Read Hi Oliver, We you and they are the same as I the verb stays in the infinitive form (no change) we only add the s to he, she and it. For example: I go, you go, we go, they go, he goes, she goes, it goes. Thanks for watching!
Sr Ochoa Hi, good question. If you are referring to a situation or advice they are uncountable nouns so you would use it and add s to the verb. So for example you could say “her advice always helps me.” Or about a situation- “it’s the atmosphere that helps me”. So you would say helps not help. Hope that’s clear. :)
Hi Ajit, you would need to say play not plays as the sentence and action involves two people (Meena and Geeta) So if we were to change it to a pronoun it would be they. For example Meena and Geeta are friends. They play together everyday. Hope that helps!
Hi Robbie, yes you are right this should be for beginners! The explanation and examples are for beginners- although in my experience remembering to add the 's' in everyday speech is an ongoing problem for many learners in every level. I will add this to a beginner playlist though. Thanks!
Hi Wissam, yes your right you would need to add 's' to the verb when using everybody (eg. Everybody wants to be happy.) This is because everybody is viewed as a singular indefinite pronoun so like he/she and it, it could also come under the third person singular. This lesson was a beginner lesson so the grammar and examples are more simple. Anybody cannot really be used as a subject it is used in questions or negative sentences as the object pronoun. So you could ask- Does anybody want this? for example and you see we would use does, not do. However they is no sentence which can start with anybody wants. Hope that makes sense!
Erkan Şamcı yes that is correct although you would say ‘my son’s cat’ not ‘cat of my son’. Both a cat and the sun are singular objects which could also be represented by ‘it’ and her mother is a singular woman (she). So yes you are correct they are all third person singulars :)
@@Laurensenglishcorner i understood your answer very clearly but exeption of only one I would say son's cat. No cat of son(this is very confuse) Her mother is she Son's cat is it . And we would add "s" to verb because of they are third person singular. I will investigation well useing for "of" Thank you very very much Lauren❤🌷
Erkan Şamcı Thank you for your support! We use ‘s to show something belongs to someone of something. For example: My sister’s car. The cat’s toy. The children’s school. You can use of with certain nouns like friend/colleagues. For example: He is a friend of my brother. This is a colleague of mine. Hope this is useful :)
Very clear video. Been wanting a simple explanation for the third person singular for my students. Thanks!

Cat of my son eats milk.
