Today’s video is all about assessing lung sounds for Nursing Students and NCLEX Review.
As a nurse, it's important to be able to identify the different types of lung sounds and their significance in the context of a patient's condition.
Lung sounds are often called an "auscultation," and the lungs are full of air sacs called alveoli. So when you listen to a patient's lungs with your stethoscope, you're listening for the sounds of those alveoli expanding and contracting.
In this video, we’re going over each lung sound, including wheezing, crackles, and bronchi lung sounds.

Wheezes 0:44
Fine Crackles 2:39
Coarse Crackles 2:55
Stridor 3:55
Ronchi 4:55
Friction Rub 5:52
Great explanation. No need to struggle .
Thank you from Kenya 🇰🇪
I’ve been going down a few of these, and I just need to say thank you for having varying sounds especially the wheezing. So many of these videos have this same wheeze sound that is more like a low vibration and the clip you have is so much better
listening to the rhonchi rumble clip gave me flashbacks to my own run-in with bronchitis early this year. it's a crunchy, wheezy feeling you get throughout the chest that makes you want to take your lungs and wring them out.
I already passed my nclex but I wanted to brush up on my lung sounds. Thanks so much for this video. You're amazing!
THIS IS SO HELPFUL AND MAKES IT EASY TO REMEMBER!!! We haven't even got to this yet in my nursing school but I know exactly how I'll study again when it comes up~!
Omg yay! Thanks so much Clover :)
I love hearing this!

Quick question regarding Sibilant Wheezes - you mentioned heard on inhalation, but earlier Wheezes were heard many on exhalation? Please clarify. Thanks.
Please update the sheet that you have online. The treatment for stridor, on the app, is diuretics and antibiotics.
Thank you so much for your help!!!

Definitely the best explanation. Thank you so much
thank you so much!
If this help anyone, I think that crackles sound like sipping through a straw when your drinking a milk shake. The high sounds, sound like when it's first given to you ,it's still somewhat solid and it's hard to suck it up. The low sound is like when your trying to suck up the rest of it up (left on the bottom). I call the stridor the seal sound.
thank you !
0:57 and 13:25 contradict one another. It says wheezes are usually expiratory at 0:57 versus usually inspiratory at 13:25
Thank you so much for your many videos, I am going into physical therapy but I have used so many of your videos to help me understand some topics more. You are a great teacher and have great ways to memorize topics that are pure memorization.

Sir plz tell me..Gale se kabhi kabhi sound nikalta hai Kya koi prblm hai ya phir thand k wajah se.... x-ray n pft sab normal h mera
Aren't "Sibilant wheezes" heard on expiration, not inhalation?
I am very impressed with you sir; thank you very much, for your knowledge. I honestly would be not being truthful If I didn't say I learned and not just 30% of my knowledge has made me competent as IF i was a 4 year nurse... Thank you for all you do ... I will donate 10% of my paycheck to you after I get a job and a degree ... I appreciate your knowledge of the facts that are important and bypassing the culture.
I thought Sibilant Wheeze was heard best during Expiration -- But you said Inspiration? Which is it?
i was told it could be both🤷🏽♀️
I been a nurse for 2 months . And here I am again. Plan of care told me to check my clients lung sound. I ask my coworker(LPN) ,what am I listening to. What do I write down. She told me to Google it, UA-cam and study😑
Davis Drug Guide: Pronunciation:
meth-ill-pred-NISS-oh-lone.
Emphasis on NISS, … not ZO.
Must double check these things when reaching a wide audience.

while we do have asthma, there still continues to be etiology which is rather behavioral, anxiety, anxiety attack, neglect, abandonment and even malnutrition (unemployment and food challenges) the person not being fed timely meals with timely snacks in between etc. It's a way for adults that too suffer from food shortage to continue on a cycle of neglect, seek medical attention (Munchouser) etc. To these families and adults you must quickly assign a social worker whom might help them find the services, jobs and food they require. With the middle class its rather neglect, adults dodging responsibility etc, blah, blah or trying to have a love life which requieres neglect of the child and dumping them somewhere else like daycare for 16 hours per day. I'm talking about asthma. Now with asthma such things as a sugar free popsicle may help because it's cooling. Something cooling helps the body, even juice popsicles that are home made that are low sugar. All this may be ruled out or you go with the asthma diagnosis but keep in mind, AIM may not help. Now you need to research will AIM hurt for the non asthmatic that had the asthma attack while not eating enough calories nor being employed nor eating timely meals and whole food snacks.
