Thanks! I guessed the overall shape and whatnot, but I learned some of the selection functionality from this video to make the hexagonal shapes. I always try to watch these simple modeling videos and try to guess how its done beforehand. I often learn a lot of different ways to do things.
Hi, this modifier controls how sharp or soft an edge is when adding the Turbosmooth modifier. This helps you to create hard edges without adding extra geometry to the base model.
@@DigitalArtMax I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this still isn't working for me. I have it on Edit poly, I hold CTRL then select the face, then i press Double Left-Click and it just select those two pieces. I've also tried selecting then holding CTRL and still nothing happens. Is there a selection mode I'm not using? My selection options on the right are also the same
@@39nova77 Something's being skipped over. There's something between array, then make unique, and attach that isn't being shown. Maybe it's a keyboard shortcut that's off screen or whatnot, but it's something. Not that this is a beginner's tutorial, but it can use some text steps to clarify the steps.
Hello from my 3D Classes. Can you explain me the Slice Option in 3:54 for the 3ds 22/23 version? My teacher use a other method, because it dont work in this versions.. but i want to learn it. ;) Thanks for the tutorial. Greetings from Berlin. =)
Not bad. Got halfway through, realized that Max 2024 changed crap up again for no reason, couldn't select a poly loop to save my life, then gave up =D There seems to be a step being skipped over here, though, because after vertexes are welded, and the shell modifier is added, followed by edit poly modifier in order to select polys, there's a couple thousand faces inside this thing, and you cannot select a loop like you can on a cube, for example. If you manage to select/delete all outside poly faces, you'll see there are just more faces inside due to all these individual shapes which never become one shape- even after using attach. What am I missing here?
Select one polygon, and then CTRL + Double Left-Click on an adjacent polygon to select the polygon loop. I need to see the model to diagnose the problem. Do it differently. Instead of adding the Shell modifier, copy it, rotate it 180 degrees, make sure it's 1 cm away from the first part, and attach it.
Select a polygon then hold shift and select the side polygon. This option only works in older versions such as 2018. In newer versions, you must hold the control button and double-click.
What you are doing matters a lot! Please do not stop! Thank you for all the videos!

@@DigitalArtMax Thanks! However I'm on 3DS 2022 and neither of these seem to work. Any ideas? I'm a bit of a novice at 3DS. Thanks!
