Prof. Cheng Man Ching is an amazing person,..here he was hands on, and look at ...well listen to all the laughter,..they were having such an enjoyable experience ,...
This is so cool to see. I studied with Stan about 18 years ago or so. As well as with Douglas Wile who taught me 1st at Brooklyn college. I had to stop ten years ago after a bad spine injury but this gives me some hope in starting again with a disciple of Stan's.
Mike Lenowsky looking at Stan’s posture and pushing style, I would say that anyone with a back problem should have avoided training with him. If you’re thinking of training with one of his students, then you may want to think again and consider your back. There are plenty of people out there doing Taiji that will not wreck your back or knees. They may not be perfect, but at least you’ll walk away somewhat healthier.
This is so nice to see, annually during our Chinese New Year celebration we would what these videos, this being a more rare one, student of Ed Young who has also studied with Ben Lo. This is typical of our schools push hands practice. I am so grateful to the big name students that I met as well as, the minor ones. I hope somewhere in my body the lessons everyone taught me still remain! :)
Does anyone know the Chinese characters for "Shr Jung" or "Shr Yung", the name of the New York T'ai Chi School founded by Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ing? I read and write Chinese but "Shr Jung" is neither the Wade-Giles nor pinyin method of "romanizing" Chinese characters. Can anyone help? Or, does anyone have a photo of the school's name displayed in Chinese? That will help me. Thanks. James Chan, Philadelphia
