Koi No Yokan is a masterpiece IMO, what an album!
Agreed. My favorite to listen to on long trips...
At the time it was out , it helped me out a lot, especially Poltergeist. God bless the Deftones 🙏😇😁
@@kkrsnn5632 same here man! Was going through a lot. I hope you are well
Oh god... My absolute fave not only from Deftones, but in general amongst all the music that was ever created lol
@@Li_Tobler don't give a shit!👊
Never realized most of this song for Stephen is one chord that the bass and vocals just move around during the verses - so simple and awesome. He’s a master of restraint and elegant riff writing
all the deftones are quite good at restraint and making space for each other in arrangements. especially the keyboardist he hardly makes a peep!
The bass is this song is probably the most beautiful part. Listen to a cover of you haven’t
@@werideatduskDUDE FOR REAL most people don’t even realize that it’s the synths that give the main riff of “Minerva” all of it’s melody. It’s so subtlely blended in there but it’s genius. Shoutout to Rick Beato for opening my eyes to the genius of their sound
I’m so happy they are doing these. Sharing their art in more ways is always good.
Same! Especially seeing Stephen! I'm a guitarist and always wanted to see more of this.
@@IceKoldKilla It's cool he's doing this, but I don't see much deviation from the actual recording. Kind of a bummer.
@@CFChristian I could be wrong, but honestly I don't think he's actually playing during these videos. It looks and sounds to me like he's playing along with the recorded song.
@@heytoast7129 😆
@@heytoast7129 If so, that's super lame.
Deftones ages like a fine wine
i've listened Koi No Yokan so many times that by the end of this video i immediately started singing Romantic Dreams
Same here
My brain was like wait a second..... that’s not the end lol
me too
That’s a BANGER ❤️
I would love to see Abe start doing these as well!
Same!
Dude, yes.
My thoughts exactly!!! Best drummer in midweek rock hands down!
HELL yeah!!!
And also Bellamy
Deftones saving the day again
Underrated guitarist. Tasteful without being gimmicky
Damn I'm really digging this series. Would love to see some more of KNY like "Entombed" or "What Happened to You?"
i second this! entombed would be gnarly.
Well said, both tracks are amazing!
Yes! Entombed please!!! That would be awesome!!!!
Tempest would be dope as well
As much as I'd love an Entombed guitar cover, I feel that'd be more appropriate for the entire band to perform, as the guitar parts are mostly just that repeating tapping line - might not make for the most 'interesting' viewing. However, seeing how Frank incorporates his keys into the full mix, and Sergio + Abe locking in with each other as well as Stephen's tapping...that'd be amazing viewing.
Stephen, you are the best!
One of my biggest influences. Koi No Yokan is in my top 3 Deftones records for sure, Rosemary and Gauze blow my face off. Such a beautiful album.
Don't let these end!!
Also please release the Helix patches used!!
The way this riff and those drums hit, live, has stuck with me for nearly a decade since that live show. What a dream come true.
Everyone knows that Steph reached tone perfection at Koi No Yokan, it's a scientific fact!
BOGNER
It’s a rock fact !
"Where should I put all these photographs?"
Steph: hold my joint.
yes keep em playthroughs coming stephen
the only Deftones concert i ever got to go to was Roseland Ballroom in 2007... i was front row right infront of Stef. i was so entranced..aaaand then i got to hug him after the show. hes so amazing and just cool as hell.
I also got the chance to meet Chi before the show, he was outside a side door just hangin out. such a sweet person, i was lost for words.
I've seen them a few times at Roseland myself. Such an amazing venue to see these guys.
One of my all time favorites. The one where I hit the up volume a few times every time.
LYRICS 🖤
She breaks her horses
With strange distant voices
That travel through the air, oh
They travel through the air, oh
She tames me with her voices
As she plays around with the forces
That travel through the air, oh
They travel through the air, oh
Distant howling out
It keeps you floating around
Distant howling out
Forces floating around
She breaks her horses
With strange distant voices
That travel through the air, oh
They travel through the air, oh
Oh, oh
Thank you... no really. Deftunes 😎
