- I have a giant homeschool library haul to share with you all today! This homeschool book haul is filled with wonderful books my family borrowed from our public library. I find so many fantastic homeschool books at our library - it's one of my favorite homeschool resources! We really enjoy having a literature based homeschool, and finding homeschool books to borrow for free is so helpful. Many of the books in this library book haul will also supplement our homeschool curriculum. I love teaching mythology! I’ve taught it in higher ed for a bit now and can’t wait to incorporate it into our homeschool. Those books look great!!
I always find it helpful to differentiate between myths, folktales, legends, tall tales, fables, and fairytales from the start - giving definitions and well-known examples of each. Its interesting to think about religions, as well…. So many of these “stories” (as we may be inclined to think of them) are deeply-rooted in the faiths of other cultures. And they may very well look at Christianity and think of it as a collection of myths. There’s a lot of overlap and, at the core, they are all attempts of people to explain where we and this world come from. Anyway. So much food for thought in a study of mythology, which is why I love it. 😊

Teachers Pay Teachers has some awesome resources - I’ve used this board game from there for teaching mythological archetypes. I've been reading the Harry Potter Books and researching a lot of British folklore that inspired the books and what the herbs the witches and wizards use and what they look like in real life and if it can be grown where I live! That would be a fantastic unit study idea!:British folklore!
I want all the books!!! But we aren’t using the library right now because can’t really sanitize them well 😔 I will be adding a few of these to my next book haul though! So good. Thanks for sharing!!!

This is a great haul!!!! We have a few of these from the library right now, or already own them, or plan to use them in our schooling this upcoming year. We are doing around the world and animals and chemistry so requested a few I hadn't hear of before from our library. Definitely saving this for future reference. Love love love all the picks
Ohhhhhh No such thing as bad weather sounds SO good! We love schooling outside, but this summer really killed me with the heat. I need to a boost! Definitely checking it out! 😍💕💕

I love your library hauls. I have made a decision that I'm going to see if I can get a library card...our Public Library in Weatherford is lacking....I just need more choices. LOL Thanks for sharing...I made a list. LOL
Fort Worth’s library system offers a non-resident student card for free. It might be worth looking into to get access to another diversity of books. You could place books on hold and pick up every other week or something if there’s not a location super convenient to you.

Love these book hauls! The only problem is that it adds so many to my list! 😂 By the way, if you’re wanting any family travel inspiration The Bucket List Family is so amazing and inspiring! Definitely start from the beginning of their travels for full impact

I have STEAM Team Explains and love it! Got it for my son when he was in kindergarten and i think it’ll be great through second grade. It’s a great open and go book and you can accompany with some worksheets and have a simple yet complete lesson

Can you suggest any spanish learning books for kids 4 to 6 year olds?
I find doing songs or poems are helpful! Your local librarian may be able to help you with resources.
