Can you make a video where it’s more behind the scenes of you planning out a UA-cam video? (While you’re writing the script, shot angles, your thinking process while you’re doing all of this, etc.) Just like a more raw, unedited, behind the scenes look of you planning out and and writing your videos! Thank you, I love all your videos!🩷
In my opinion, this is golden for the beginners. I never saw a video like this at the very beginning so I had to analyse other peoples videos and trial and error my own videos until I saw some (teeny tiny) success so - THANK you Katie. this is really so valuable.
it also really demystifies the filming process, before I saw this video I was like I guess I am the only one who says the same phrase 16 times until it sounds right and then moves on to the next phrase! surprise, no, that's normal!!
Katie, thank you for being so raw and real in your videos. I have been watching you for months trying to build my confidence to post videos. I am in the editing stage, and this video answered a lot of questions I had. Thank you so very much!
Ditto! I say ‘um’ a lot & I edit out most of them, but as a beginner, I decided it’s ok to leave some in. I also quickly learned to pause & breath before each speaking point, for ease of editing without looking choppy.
I am SO glad I found your channel, Katie! I am learning so much! As someone who is just coming into this and learning at age 52, I appreciate that you express yourself in an easy to understand and apply type of way. I watched your video on budget cameras (comparing three and GoPro being one of them) and purchased my equipment. Now to learn all the ins and outs of the process. Excited!
Your UA-cam channel is absolutely amazing! The content you create is both entertaining and informative,The production quality, creativity, and passion you put into your videos are evident in every frame. keeping me hooked with every video. Keep up the fantastic work, you're doing a fantastic job! 😊👍
I reached the point where I do a hand wave, to indicate the restart. Just wave a hand passed my face, in a long wave. AND...it's so nice to know I'm not the only one messing up speech. Comforting, informative!!
thank you for another excellent video. i am still working on my first one. i have been watching so much of your content and you keep continuing to help me
I use a prompter and I love it. Of course I go off script all the time but having a prompter with a script, it just help keep me on track and supports me if I get blocked. Because I'm doing sewing tutorials, being able to communicate in an engaging way with the audience plus having to sew what I have to sew is just too much!
Thank you so much for this! what I usually did was restarting the video and then I ended up having like 6x videos and not knowing which one was the correct one :') Now I know better! Your channel is everything
Thank you so much for all of your videos, Katie. I've been working on making videos for the past while and I watch all of your videos because they're so helpful. I love how you explain things concisely and calmly. There are so many videos about UA-cam and video creation content where the creator uses such a loud, fast-paced and attention grabbing style but doesn't deliver quite enough detail to be helpful. One of my favorite videos you ever did was "How I film & edit TikToks in 2023 | Batch create with me!" because you showed your workflow in Premiere and explained little things that you do to make your life easier (like how you manage files and how to make the vertical video slightly bigger and how you add Canva elements -- so many things!). Anyway I just wanted you to know that I'm very grateful. P.S. I had an aha moment in this video when you took the swing down from the wall, since I've always wondered where it fits in the space from other videos haha.
Just saw and watched your video. Really high quality content in terms of information, and fun way. You are really good at what you do please keep doing it. You are perfect.
This is the best video I have ever seen on this topic. I'm just starting to do more stuff with my face on screen, so good to see the reality and the practical detail of your filming. So helpful, thank you
I loved this video. New subscriber, here! What *I* like to do, is put my script on my laptop and use a webcam to film. I put my computer pretty far away and make the text super big like size 60. I put the text box at the top of the screen, right under the webcam, and shrink the box so it's pretty small, so that way my eyes stay focused by the camera and not like I'm reading all over the screen. I would screw up so much without reading from my script. I'd love to know - can you tell I'm doing this if you watch some of my videos? I'm sure there's better ways than what I'm doing but for now, this works.
I just do it! I write a little script, try to keep to it, but it's more fun to just do it. ATM my problem is figuring out my cameras functions and then editing...❤
Girl!!!! Thanks for helping so much with content like this. My problem is when having to combine my sound from the different clips. They be all over the place sound quality wise even when I use my mic. I don’t know what to do
Great video as per usual! I'm stoked that I am doing most of this already, but it's so nice to see that it's how you do it too...makes me feel like i'm on the right track!
this was so cool to watch as a small channel. It made me feel like im on the right track because I do a lot of these things, especially the long pauses and keeping my laptop out of frame for guidance. Sometimes my raw footage is double or triple the actual video because of how long I'll pause to fix my mistakes while talking and recording Lol
What would you suggest for a tutorial hands only video? A second camera with switching back and forth? Thanks so much for your informational videos!! ❤
I stumbled upon this video and was immediately glued to your content. Thank you so much for sharing your behind the scene and showing that it actually is much easier to start on UA-cam than I thought! You answered most of my questions like what if I stumble, what if I forget my lines, how do I make my audio better, etc. Thank you so so much! 🙏 If someone is a complete beginner and on a budget do you recommend filming using just your phone and maybe investing in a microphone? Thank you again! 🩷
Another awesome video Katie and love 🥰 it. I just use my phone with a tripod and when it comes to editing I upload a introduction video from Canva and edit the intro video in Canva. I also upload a End screen video from Canva and make it to my own design. I didn’t use transitions in my recent video and it is getting more views than if I have a transition in it so I am going to stop using transitions.
I absolutely loved your videos many years ago. I had a really good big UA-cam channel and following. I stopped it because I got a stalker that got crazy now I wanna bring my channel back. I love all your pointers.
I found this very informative and your videos are very engaging. I watched the one you linked at the end too. You have given some wonderful tips and tricks. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your process! However sometimes I feel that pausing every time to read, record, read, record makes me end up with 1h footage for a 15 min video, and sometiems I deal with overheating or full storage issues in my camera which makes me stop recording for that afternoon and resume it tomorrow, and that breaks me all the flow I had to record that video.
Love watching your videos! Thank you for sharing your process. I started my YT channel to grow my travel business and to share travel tips. I'm highly considering purchasing your bundle and wanted to know if you'll have other videos showing how to use other aspects included in the Content Creator Starter Kit.
This was so comprehensive! Thanks for the detailed explanation. I am soooo over my head when it comes to sit down videos 🥴 i just need to pull the plug and do it 😬
Thanks so much for your videos and ALL your helpful tips! Still learning all of this, but you're one of my go-to favorites for the "how to" of YT! I'm determined to improve 😅
I wanna go into UA-cam full timers I decide to start filming yesterday, my goodness it was so difficult, having to remember to press record after every camera angle change. also being mindful of the camera at all times isn't was easy as you guys make it.
I’m trying to make good videos…. I’m home every other day since I drive a truck for a living. The ideas are there…. Just a matter of time for filming, editing and posting
This is very helpful, thank you! I have a question though: It seems like you cycle between locations (hammock chair, desk etc) throughout the talking head sections, and you also have a linear script (or outline) so I wonder: do you make a shot list on a per-chair location and shoot a block of say hammock chair shots in one go without having to move the camera and then a block of shots in the next location and so on? And if (I speculate here) so, do you have tooling that breaks the script/outline into groups of shots based on location?
Hey Katie, I love your videos! They are really motivating and makes me want to take this more seriously. One issue that I run across a lot is storage which prevents me from editing and even filming. If you don't mind answering, how do you save storage for your videos?
I've been watching your videos for awhile and have appreciated your teaching style and format. Today I ordered the template thinking there was also a video included. But I found no video. Just a template without instructions. Is there a video? thanks.
Thanks SO much for this awesome video!! This is so helpful.. on one part of the video you had on the cutest gray and white checkerboard cardigan.. where did you get it from?
Oh great ! It seems so simple. Thank you so much. I’m really bad at filming but I enjoy so much sharing on UA-cam. All the script things and heavy editing from other UA-camrs seem too difficult for me. May I ask you how long does it takes for you to make a video like this one from filming to editing ?
Hey Katie very informative thank you appreciate it. Have a question for you I'm just starting my UA-cam channel and I want to know what software do you use to edit? *maybe you could make another video on how to edit... UA-cam videos
Can I ask, what volume setting do you use on your camera when using your external mic? I have the same camera and microphone but I still can't seem to get it right. Thank you for another great video!

I agree 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
yes! Would love this as well!
yesss i would love this raw video style. i find it super helpful
Yes! Same. I think the script part is the most important for me because focusing is so difficult and staying on topic too
In my opinion, this is golden for the beginners. I never saw a video like this at the very beginning so I had to analyse other peoples videos and trial and error my own videos until I saw some (teeny tiny) success so - THANK you Katie. this is really so valuable.

so glad I could help!
You got this!! I’m finally going to start filming mine, we got this 🫶🏼🤍
I've been editing for like a week. I'm doing something wrong. I DID learn to realize embracing the awkward is part of my charm. Lol
Ditto! I say ‘um’ a lot & I edit out most of them, but as a beginner, I decided it’s ok to leave some in. I also quickly learned to pause & breath before each speaking point, for ease of editing without looking choppy.

that is so kind 🫶 thank you for watching!!
I found you this year, you have changed my life. I love you.
I reached the point where I do a hand wave, to indicate the restart. Just wave a hand passed my face, in a long wave.
AND...it's so nice to know I'm not the only one messing up speech.
Comforting, informative!!
The hand wave thing is such a good idea!! I’m going to start using this! 🎉
thank you for another excellent video. i am still working on my first one. i have been watching so much of your content and you keep continuing to help me

Starting a UA-cam channel and I’ve been binge watching your videos!! Soooo incredibly helpful. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
the section where you show what filming really looks like couldnt be more accurate. Its like watching myself haha

Thank you for this, Katie. I bought a teleprompter, but it is very difficult to be natural when using one and a fiddle to set up all the time.
I adore this channel I always learn so much. Katie is such an inspiration ❤✨😎🍾
that is so sweet, thank you!!
Just saw and watched your video. Really high quality content in terms of information, and fun way. You are really good at what you do please keep doing it. You are perfect.

good advice (shot list) editing advice etc very informative content.
I love your honesty. This info helps a lot. Thank you!

This is such a fantastic video!! It gave me so much clarity. Thanks a million!!!
This video is fantastic. So very helpful. I would love a video on what editing software you use and maybe a brief overview.
I felt so stuck. Thank you so much for making this video!
A simple Thank You. Took a chance on your video, and I’m glad I did. Well done. 👍
I use my phone, tripod and microphone for filming. And I wonder when I will be professional 🥹 Thanks for the video❤
I just do it! I write a little script, try to keep to it, but it's more fun to just do it. ATM my problem is figuring out my cameras functions and then editing...❤
Katie i love your authenticity , thank you so much ,I am from Thailand
This video just came on time because I’m out here stressing planning my first ever UA-cam video and I couldn’t memorize all my lines, thank you ❤
Same here
You have so much knowledge…thanks for sharing
Such a great breakdown thanks !!!
Loveee this video!! But also, be careful with the plastic bag diffuser - that's a fire hazard!! Speaking from my own experience 😅
This is amazing !! Wish I had this advice at the beginning 🎉❤
this was so cool to watch as a small channel. Also, Katie, loving the long locks on you! 😍🤩
The sweat check took me out because thank goodness I’m not the only one! 😂😂😂
This video is definitely GOLD! ❤
Again another amazing video! TAKING NOTES :)
Great tips, I am going to try to improve my in front of the camera skills
Plastic bag diffuser! I've never seen anyone else suggest that before. Love it. Thank you for this affordable idea!
LOVE the gear list 🔥 great video!! Filming my first couple of videos has been HARD haha 🥲
What would you suggest for a tutorial hands only video? A second camera with switching back and forth? Thanks so much for your informational videos!! ❤
Thank you so much!!! Verrrrrry helpful ❤

I found this very informative and your videos are very engaging. I watched the one you linked at the end too. You have given some wonderful tips and tricks. Thank you.
The editing examples were so reassuring! Except, mine are five minutes of retakes and lots of swearing😂😡
haha don't worry I also get frustrated while filming too, it happens to us all!
The swearing would be a great bloopers reel! 😆
Love the aesthetic of your video Katie! Great value thank you
Thanks for sharing your process! Otro excelente video Katie, gracias por compartir y ayudarnos en el proceso!
muchas gracias por mirar! 🫶🏻
Thank you for sharing your tips and process, it gives me the hope that I might be able to actually do it, too! Thank you
2:10 I would agrue on great audio. It gives you echo from the walls. It's kinda okay audio, but it could be better.
I've been watching your videos for awhile and have appreciated your teaching style and format. Today I ordered the template thinking there was also a video included. But I found no video. Just a template without instructions. Is there a video? thanks.
Loving your recent videos - quality 👏🏼
You are so adorable, thank you for sharing this 💖
Thanks for the valuable information! You’re the best!
thank you so much for watching :)
Amazing, dear! Thanks for the great insights!!
Thanks SO much for this awesome video!! This is so helpful.. on one part of the video you had on the cutest gray and white checkerboard cardigan.. where did you get it from?
I just got the Sony ZV E-10 and I’m starting my UA-cam channel ☺️ Can you share your camera settings that optimize your videos?
thank you so much < 3
Always on point, thanks

So helpful, thank you!
Genius! Do you have any acting background? I do and these principle are very much in line w/acting.
I just started to learn how to film and edit and this video is very helpful. What editor do you recommend for editing?
Very helpful, thanks!
Thank you! 💛
Great video🖤✨🙆🏾♀️
Actually I took your Domestika course-SO helpful! Thanks Katie ✨
oh yay! I'm glad you liked it :)
As a beginner how did you come up with a shot list? Do you have any tips and tricks for shot list creation?
Can I ask, what volume setting do you use on your camera when using your external mic? I have the same camera and microphone but I still can't seem to get it right.
Thank you for another great video!
P.s your hair looks sooo good ❤
great tips. Do you think storyblock would be good for reels?
Great video!
this is interesting, Katie. 👍
Do you put your videos on a hard drive first? Is the editing software youre using final cut?
