    Oh My Gawwwd!!!
    My "SOMEDAY" Self
    This is absolutely the most accurate description of every failed goal or habit I've ever had!
    Eventually I would figure out something that worked FOR ME. But if I would've started from this frame of reference, I would've gotten there so much fuckin sooner and way less struggle!!!
    I legit think I'm going to make an entire video on this concept.
    Thank you!!!!!

    Consistency is actually my biggest setback to start doing UA-cam videos! As someone with executive function issues, the tip of having my gear readily accessible as well as having my digital ressources organized was spot on! I gotta look into organizing those! Thanks!

    • @tunnel.vision.x
      @tunnel.vision.x Рік тому +3

      Hey - this was my biggest hurdle in getting started. And while I'm still new to it, a few things that have helped me every week is leaving my tripod and light stands in the exact same spot. I'd love to be more versatile in my shot choices and move around. But that's the difference in me starting a video and not starting. If you have an area where you can leave some of your gear set up, then give it a try. I've also just created folder and project templates for editing. So everything is in the same location and easier to access - avoid getting flustered during the edit. It's really tough. But when you have the capacity, spend a bit of time improving things that will help your workflow. My office space is kind of not as clean as a result, but it's way more functional for me and how my brain works. You've got this ❤

    I work as an Amazon delivery driver when I’m not doing UA-cam video (filming & editing) and I use that time by myself to brainstorm ideas and such…. It helps tremendously to have list so that your mind isn’t blank when you go to film 👌🏽🙌🏽

    My way of doing it is just make my uploads scheduled ahead of time in a time period twice what it takes to produce. I can record, edit and upload a video a day.... so I make the schedule a video EVERY OTHER DAY. that way I can get ahead. I'm 8 weeks ahead at the moment so I can take a brake whenever I want and only technically have to work half the days a year. easy I never miss an upload cuz they are already done and scheduled weeks ahead of time :)

  • @RobertPlank
    @RobertPlank 2 місяці тому

    I absolutely loved this video! Your point about treating UA-cam like a habit really hit home for me. I never thought about planning my content schedule based on my real life instead of some dreamy version of myself-now I get why my plans were always unrealistic! Also, the idea of having an organized content idea database is a game changer. I’m always scrambling for ideas, and I can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that. Keeping my filming gear easily accessible is such a logical tip, too-I’ve wasted so much time searching for my stuff. Lastly, I totally agree about taking time offline. It's easy to get wrapped up in the numbers, but stepping away can really help recharge creativity. Thanks for sharing such useful advice!

    Consistency is the key to everything in life! You are totally correct. I start a year ago my channel. Over the summer I stopped, and now I am back on. What I learn is if I just made that time over the summer for 1 video a week, I could of be better from where I stopped. It took me time to restart with the videos and the habit of talking. Now with full time, job, full time mom and a full time student, I make the time to make and post 1 video a week. It is hard, but by doing that I have a whole week to try and edit the video. I am so goad that I found your channel! ❤

    Careful Katie - chargers and batteries generate heat. You know this. They don’t need much but they need more ventilation than they can get inside an IKEA cabinet. Keep some air moving through and you’re ok. No moving air at all… not great. Especially in summer, slight heat can build into bigger heat. Don’t get any nasty surprise from that. Love your UA-cam name and congrats on your sudden 10x spike!

    Hi Katie - I quickly adopted the 'Make a note of that idea' strategy with my channel. I have a program on my PC called Simply Sticky Notes ( no affiliate link just a great free resource) that are digital post-its. I too brain storm ideas and watch other creators and when an idea hits its on my desktop sticky notes. You can even cut and paste from websites - who knew - I also use the YT community tab and have a list of ideas from viewers - who better to ask than the folk I make videos for! Great video Katie 😎😎

    What you say at the beginning is so relevant! I really struggle setting time apart for content creation but what you said made me feel relieved, knowing that it gets easier, that you create the habit eventually if you push it enough at the beginning. Sometimes I feel bad, I think maybe I don't want this enough because I don't set much time for it even if I do have time as I work a 9-5 and I'm "free" the rest of the time. You don't only give good technical advise but what you said is super useful and can be applied in other areas of life. Thank you for what you do!!

    Consistency isn't my issue at all, making all the elements come together is. My camera is useless with out this or that downloaded app!!!
    Since that is so hard to coordinate...using my phone to film is the consistency thing right now. So far I'm doing free apps, but I haven't been able to add my cam videos to my YT channel I have Canva, you tube studio, and a couple others...STILL unable to get my videos from PC to channel.
    SO F-ing frustrating.
