    Hi there Yoyis, I have been getting my lashes done for the past almost 2 yrs. But watching your videos have inspired me to want to learn more. I don't know where to start though 😕 do have to go beauty school? I'm in California by the way. Oh and I wish you the best on becoming a trainer, I am sure you will be great at it! Your awesome girl . God bless

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому +1

      Aww thanks for the love babe! So if your in Cali your state does require you to be licensed in either cosmetology or Esthetics. If your going in just for lashes I recommend just doing esthetics since it's less time. No point of going in for Cosmo for over a year just to do lashes it'll be a waste of time and money. Unless you want to do hair and nails as well. Up to you. What I will also recommend is take a lash course and see if you like it. I'm only saying this because what if you go to school get your license just to do lashes and don't even like doing lashes as much as you thought. Then you wasted time and money going to school. You know what I mean. So definitely think about it. Do your research. But I will say is the beauty industry is only going to keep growing it's definitely the place to be if you want to make good money. If you are going to take a course before beauty school just be careful because you could get in trouble for not being licensed so just practice on your friends and family, once you start getting paying clients that's when you can get in trouble if you get caught. So don't think I'm giving you bad advice I'm just giving you food for thought if this is something you really want to do. Hopefully that helped 😘

    Yoyis, I’m sorry if I’ve missed it: do you have taping/lashing tips for middle-age and older clients? I myself am 45 and just learned to lash but am also observing us over-the-hill women have different (thinner and wrinklier 😭) skin and often thinner/thinning lashes. I’m wanting to build my clientele in this age bracket but am not finding a lot of examples of work done on this age set. Thank you for your awesome content! I’ve learned a bunch from your amazing videos. And holy hell do you have steady, precise hands... impressive!

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому +1

      Hey hun. I don't have a taping video like that only because the taping method applies to anyone. Since their skin is more loose I make sure to pull a little bit more than what I would with a younger client. It doesn hurt them at all but please be gentle and ask them if they are ok with you pulling back their eyelids. Most my clients or mature older women so I know exactly what you mean but they have the best kind of lashes because they don't have as many as a younger client. So you can lash them faster. Yes they do have thinner more fragile lashes so shorter thinner lashes is the way to go with them. But the taping method video applies to everyone. I get at the beginning it can be a little intimidating and scary pulling back the lashes but once you get in the habit of it it'll be like 2nd nature to you and you'll know how far to pull back on mature eyes. Trust the process. You got this 😘

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому +1

      It happens girl. The mannequin doesn't cooperate as good especially because the lashes lay so flat against the plastic face so there's no much you can do about it. I recommend to practice on a close friend or sister or someone that trusts you. It's the best way to learn.

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому +1

      The only reason why I haven't done it is because I live in a very very dry place the humidity glue and Sealer will not work for me at all because I don't struggle with humidity. But I have friends in Florida who use it and they have about it so much. I just know I wouldn't be able to give you my honest opinion because it won't do anything for me and my dry weather.

      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому

      It wouldn't hurt to try it and see if it works for you. Don't give up hun sometimes you just need the right products. Also what I recommend getting is a dehumidifier to help take out some humidity from your room. They sell them on amazon. Definitely invest in one of those. That should help tremendously.

    i heard its not advised to detack tape or eye pads on your own hand because your removing dead skin from the back of your own hand and then putting it right under their eyes. which makes sense. I heard its best to detack on the clients own forehead. whats your thoughts?

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  2 роки тому +1

      The reason why I do it on my own hands is because I always wash and sanitize with hand sanitizer before doing that. I don't use my clients forehead because you don't know what is on their forehead. You don't know if they washed your face that morning or a week ago. You don't know what kind of face creams or oils they have on their face. Or if they're wearing heavy makeup. At least I'm more certain that my hands are properly washed and sanitized when I do it this way. You don't know if your clients forehead it's clean and sanitized. Everyone has their own opinion about how they do this but this way works for me not once have I ever given anybody and eye infection doing this method. So I can say with confidence that it's not harmful or unsanitary.

    I am a current student in lashing and I have problems with being consistent with how far the base is supposed to be at lower lid. I always leave about 2-3 mm space but it’s supposed to be 1-2 so what do you recommend so I get better at this bc my fear is having clients complain about the lashes poking thwm

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому

      3 mm out is the farthest you should place them so its ok your barely starting off the more you get the hang of it the fear of placing them closer will disappear and it'll just come naturally to place them closer. As long as your bases are perfectly made and they don't have any thing lashes sticking out then placing them 1mm close to the lash line is ideal. Thats the goal but it's ok if your just starting off. The more practice you get in the easier it'll get getting them as close as possible. Hang in there you got this 😘

    • @valeriee8211
      @valeriee8211 3 роки тому

      @@YoyisLashBeauty Thankyou so much! Also one more question rn we’re obviously practicing on mannequins and I adhere the base well but the sometimes sticks out to one side like if it’s slanted so what do you recommend for that situation so they are always placed straight on top of eyelashes?

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  3 роки тому +1

      Are you saying that you place the extension well but then it "tilts" to one side? If that's the case you have to hold the extension in place to give the glue enough time to dry in place. Your most likely working with a slow dry time glue and your moving too fast and not letting the glue enough time to dry and hold the extension straight up. So it doesn't matter if you place it on the sides or at the top of your not giving the glue enough time to dry that extension will start to tilt to the side. So just make sure to hold it for a little bit longer. That's the only disadvantage of working with a slow dry glue. Just have patience you'll get it down soon and be able to work with a faster glue soon.

    • @valeriee8211
      @valeriee8211 3 роки тому

      @@YoyisLashBeauty ohhhh got ya that also happens but what I was trying to say is that when I go into apply a lash sometimes I do go straight in and place the lash straightly on top of natural lash which blends in but other times I place them to where half the side of the base seems to fall to one side which then causes the eyelash base beside it to get stuck to that one bc it fell on the lash “crooked” and I don’t know how to control it and I hate when that happens because I take the lash of to retry but end up having a lot of glue from all the tries and have a mess. Hopefully I’m making since!

    You kept saying not on the water line but it looked so deep up in the corners of their eyes. I put it there on clients and so many complained so I would move it but some would still complain and a lash would come out and end up stuck at the end. Idk if I had sensitive clients or if it’s me 😭

    • @YoyisLashBeauty
      @YoyisLashBeauty  Рік тому

      Remember to always fix the inner and outer corners. Like how I showed I'm the video, lift up the corners and pull them down so that way it's not going inside their eye. All clients are sensitive when it comes to the eyepads, so if they are complaining that they feel it inside their eye, make sure to fix it. It can be the tape you're using isn't sticking, and that's why it's lifting and getting inside their eye.

      Yeah just rub the center until it's not sticky at all ... Hmmm never heard of that brand so I can't say if its good or not. I recommend to use a glue with a strong hold most beginner glues don't have good hold that's why retention is bad but make sure your placement in on point and your tape isn't sticky that should help with your lashes not coming off.
