So I Platinumed Final Fantasy VII. Here's How I Did It.

- So with the Final Fantasy VII continuity expanding on February 29th, I've finally hit the go button on getting all the Final Fantasy VII trophies before Rebirth comes out, starting with the 1997 classic!

By far the best guide to get all trophies in FF7 (and the guide that I personally used) is the Jegged Walkthrough. It is insanely well formatted, easy to read and keep up with, super-detailed, doesn't jump around at all, and uses pictures to supplement the reading incase you have trouble finding where an item is after being explained. It's practically impossible to have a misunderstanding and miss or mess up something if you follow it.
Jegged has the best guides I've ever seen in my life. Another good site that is similarly good and well designed (however not good to get Walkthroughs) is FantasyAnime

Recently done the platinum for FF7 using Jegged and it was so helpful. After everything I thought it wasnt that difficult just takes a bit of time.
I love the cut off at the end of this video. its just straight to the point then the video ends. no credit rolls, no final remarks. idk why it made me chuckle. Very well done guide mate!
The High score on the motorcycle mini game is literally the only thing stopping me from getting the Platinum trophy. It's like they want you to play a perfect game 🤬

Mastering all materia was the only one i didnt do. Ff9 has the hardest trophies like ever. 12 hour run, 1000 jumps hippo run...not to mention the INSANE glasscanon beast superboss
Great work!! The ending is way too easy once we learn how to do it, but my first time doing it as a kid, i lost to sephiroth 3 times before I realized that the de-barrier materia he gave you can be used to remove his shield. Anyway it is such an easy game now but I still love it, I have played it 7 times but never a full platinum like this!

I platinumed both games in 2022. So many new customizations to try out in remake alone.
I had no idea about that hidden guy in gold saucer to buy GP.
He doesn't always appear but if you go in and out over and over he'll appear.
Also, I think he only appears in Discs 2 and 3

After a certain point in the game you can buy all materia at fort condor for the Gil grind.
There is a much easier way to date Barret with the glitch in cosmo canyon. You can easily and repeatedly raise the affection levels.
I was gonna do this still have time but I need to get the date with barret to finish mine up

Emerald weapon was my only thing keeping me from the platinum but finally I beat him.
Ummm, if you use knights of the round in the Ruby Weapon battle, how did you get it if you didnt have the gold chocobo until after the fight??

In 2001, after losing a save game on a corrupted memory card, I did for the last time a platinum run of FFVII, I master all the materias trading them on Cosmo Canyon. I have all types of materia mastered for each Character, even for non active group characters, a +500h run. Sweet memories

I keep forgetting about the free master materias, there should be separate trophies for making then naturally - same for Chocobo breeding and enemy skill collection.
This plat is super easy as long as you follow the steps to get barret up on the golden saucer ride

7 Remake and the OG game were the very first games I ever got platinum trophies for. Tifa pullup game was a nightmare. In this game only the Barrett date was annoying to get since it takes a second joke play-through of the game

not sure if you're for real, but there's a story reason for that so if you don't know about it I'd recommend playing the game and finding out for yourself

How did you get w item from bone village?
In disc 3 you have to ask the digger for "good treasure", and then dig at the spot at the top of the ground floor where there's an x. It might take you a couple of tries but it is there!
As a casual gamer hearing about exploiting glitches and whatnot to your advantage always melts my brain. How in the actual F do people know this stuff?

I used a 100% platinum guide as well, but it wasn't a speedrun one, so I recruited Yuffie at the earliest available time. I'm assuming speedrun purposes is why you recruited her after Aerith had already died. Speaking of, watching this reminds me how I wasn't a fan of being a dick to Tifa & Aerith just to get the Barret affection points for his Gold Saucer date. If that one trophy wasn't there, I would've enjoyed the game a lot more. and I already really liked it to begin with.

Beating Emerald gives you the item you can give to the Kalm Traveler to get one of every master materia. Master summon materia includes KOtR

I love this game forever and always, its my only platinum.
The only thing i dont enjoy about the platinum is aeriths ultimate weapon/final limit, its a waste of time lol wouldn't do that on any other playthrough
The only thing I don't enjoy about the platinum is the Barret date. It requires you to turn down Aerith & Tifa and miss out on some nice moments just to go on a date with that guy.

Because that's the actual pronunciation. In the Japanese, they say Ket Shee. It's an actual Scottish word. In the English version of the Vincent spinoff they also say Ket Shee. Even for Rebirth, it's just the English version of the game that says "Kate Sith." The Japanese & other language dubs retain the original Ket Shee pronunciation.
+5 points for renaming Aeris to Aerith, and +10 for pronouncing Cait Sith properly. -2 points for mispronouncing Yuffie, but you get +1 back for realizing you mispronounced it. 😜

It isn't a retranslation though, in Japan she was always Aerith, but since Japanese doesn't have a "th" sound, her name was mistranslated into English. I know your point is that you think Aeris sounds better, but the fact they translated Sephiroth's name correctly is even weirder considering both characters' names end with a "th".

Man, Final Fantasy 7 was a classic and consider the best entry in the Final fantasy series but after ff7 leader entries were kind of OK, mid or even Meh 13 particular was them disappointing entry in the series. Modern entries can top Final Fantasy 7 until FF16 came along.
THE DEVS CONFIRMED IT IS PRONOUNCED "KATE SYTH." I know of the Gaelic origin of the name, I've done my research, but the devs themselves said that the character Cait Sith in FF7 is pronounced as "Kate Syth" so why are we still doing this "cat she" stuff? smfh

You need to do your research properly, because you clearly haven't. Cait Sith is pronounced "Ket Shee" in Gaelic/Scottish. In the Japanese version of FF7, his name is written as "Ket Shee." In the English language spinoffs, such as Dirge of Cerberus, they also say Ket Shee. Even for Rebirth, in Japanese & international versions, it is said Ket Shee. Only for the English version of Remake did Square say it would use the "Kate Sith" pronunciation, and it was specifically because they were aware American/Western fans used that pronunciation. Not because it was the correct one.
To reiterate, the devs did not say that Cait Sith is pronounced as Kate Syth. If it was, it would be pronounced/written as such in the Japanese versions of the OG, or even Rebith. But it is not, it is pronounced as Ket Shee in Japanese, as well as previous English language spinoffs, and in other international languages. *_It is only for the English version of Rebirth that they are using Kate Sith_*

Purely personal preference. I feel like 3x speed still keeps some element of interaction.
I have no problem with people using the God mode method for limit break farming.

I 100% completed FF VII 4x back on the original PlayStation. No reason to do it again.
