Kuthampully is a handloom village in Thrissur district, Kerala.It is a traditional cotton weaving village.We here introduce "Kuthampully Handloom center" a prominent wholesale and retail shop in Thrissur.
Kuthampully Saree is a type of Sari traditionally made by weavers from Kuthampully village in Thiruvilwamala Grama Panchayat of Thrissur district of Kerala state in India. The Kuthampully Saree is distinguished by its Saree borders.
Legend has it that this community of traditional weavers was brought here by the Kochi royal family some 500 years back to ply their trade exclusively for the palace. Kuthampully Handloom Industrial Cooperative Society was registered in 1972 with 102 members and is the main representative of the inhabitants
Kuthampully handloom village, located 50 km from Thrissur town, is famous for Kerala handloom weaving and Kasavu handloom sarees. ... Its Kasavu handloom weaving is extremely famous. Most of the inhabitants belong to the Devanga community. They trace their origins to modern-day Karnataka.
What is Kerala Kasavu saree?
Kasavu is a handwoven cream colored saree with gold border, worn by Malayalee women. From the land of 'God's own country', Kerala's Kasavu emerges as one of the finest traditional saris which define the essence of the beauty of every woman in Kerala
