that arm flips out of the way to place record, then you flip it back so it sits on top of the record. It's basically so you can stack a few records and it releases the one at a time automatically

You had an awesome pick!! I love the console!! It reminds me of the one my grandparents had. The lamps were fabulous. You scored big on the bikes. It is hard to find bikes here in Alabama.

ME TOO LOL I KNEW EXACTLY HOW TO OPERATE THAT TURNTABLE ... GREAT FIND ..MOSTLY ,,OR AT LOT HERE THEY POST FB MARKET PLACE FREE ... WILL BE GONE BY TOMORROW NO HOLDS COME AND GET IT ..THEY POST THAT IN A GROUP FREE STUFF OR IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AREA LIKE LONG WOOD ROAD 228 FREE CHAIRS THEN A PIX other wise they have to take that to the land fill you cant dropped it at the dumpsters .. or we have a couple non profit or benifit of the rescue squad you can take stuff open 2 dys or there is a number to call to have someone met you if its a go right now .. i guess living in a little county ... or there is habitat for humanity store .. seldom throw anything good out here we take it to donate it .. recordplayer stero was a great find!!!

Really curious how much you sold it for I had one like that, needed new needle, no 8 track player, I sold for $40, I found for free! Stereo worked great.
Hey Juan! You could take your own trash bags with you and when you get those overflowing trash bins you could put the overflow in them and get to digging. You find some really good stuff.

What you did then I did in 1965 when I was setting up my apartment. Every night hitting rich neighborhoods looking for beautiful things I could use and I watched the video on Mr Blue as I call him .I watched when you found those rings 😘😘 you know yes! Those rings . Love watching you

I love the night time picking. There are no background distractions, just you and the stuff. The black arm allows the user to load more than one record at a time because once you load them you bring it over to hold them straight horizontally.

My brother has one from my grandmother’s house and he can plug his cell phone into it and play music. My brother enjoys working on those vintage stereo’s from the 60’s & 70’s. And lately I have been posting some of his collection online for him. I posted about 12 turntables the other night ,stereo’s ,amps
Lol, im 62 and husband is 65, watching you figure out the phonograph was funny, we were talking out loud to our phone with instructions. It reminded us of the first time we used a computer. Love your show

You could take a couple of garbage bags with you so when you find an over full garbage bin you could move the trash to the bags so you could dig deeper for the good stuff.
You need a phone a friend, real time to tell you....Pick those things up. They are worth it. Lol love picking at night. My brother and I could do double time. You really make me wish he was still here so we could do it again. I'm to old now, but you bring me joy watching you. It's an addiction. A shame what people throw out.

Oh my God I had a stereo just like that when I was 25 and I'm 68 now that was back in the '70s. good deal!!
I grew up in 70s, parents had similar console. Beautiful. My eldest son bought one & installed newer turntable. I lol seeing you figure out turntable. Def sounded like either the needle was bad or album scratched.

DEFINITELY TREASURE JUAN, a real " Hi-Fi" aficionado will love that unit, circa 1970, vinyl is back, awesome find and you loaded it like a feather. The bikes also great. What a great treasure night. I'm in Washington but every time I see your videos I get a stronger urge to come back to Texas. To meet you and have a Whataburger 😀 BTW my cracy handle is the aircraft type I flew in my previously life. Hope all is well with family ,stay safe, Good Hunting, Bob H.

Great finds! Those purple shelves must have belonged to a young girl. Luckily they can be repainted... hideous color choice! I enjoyed seeing the stereo cabinet. It brought back childhood memories. I have never seen one with an 8 track in it. I was unaware Reader's Digest had furniture, just magazines and books.

It looked like your tailgate extender just got in your way instead of being useful . I don't know Texas laws but I live in Alabama and I drive with my tailgate down and extender in place daily . The only time I flip it up and shut my tailgate is when I've bought groceries and I use the space to store them and keep them from sliding around the truck .

How does that sound for the beginning??? The video behind it is you driving down the road full of stuff and the sun is coming Up! Another part of the video is you pull up in the driveway - your wife opens the front door and takes a step outside -she looks at you - she looks at the truck full - she looks at you again - shakes her head and goes back indoors!

Juan, look up Scrap and pallet man. Know knows all about scrapping. He even know the names of the scrap he picks. That's all he does. He doesn't take nothing home. He goes straight to the payoffs. Pressure cookers go for $30+ dollers used, there is a high demand for them, I thought you had one earlier in the video but even tho that os mot what it was I just thought I would put it out there.

I'm not really a country fan, but I do like some of the music. I have had the song Tennessee Whisky in my head for the last several days, so much so I had to find it on UA-cam and listen to it. There is a guy in a truck with his daughter and he sings it. This is my favorite version of the song. So it's still been in my head and I put on one of your videos and wouldn't you know the song that was on the radio in your truck that you turned up and started to sing was THAT song. I was like freaked out!!! The next day I put on one of your videos and sure enough that song was on again and you turned it up and I was thinking that I am trying to be told something. I didn't used to believe in stuff like that when I was younger, but I do now as I've gotten older. You have an awesome voice. I want to hear you sing the whole song!!!!!! Thank you so much for the videos! I have a question...don't take it the wrong way. I grew up fairly poor and so we got a lot of stuff second hand. I used to get teased about it. I would be horrified if someone caught me looking in the garage. I can't even go to garage sales. I would love to try what you do, but I would be too embarrassed. I'd have to wear a paper bag over my head. Do you ever get embarrassed? I really love that you are so respectful and pick up any mess you make and ask permission if you see someone. Juan I was thinking instead of tying the bag up, you could put rubber bands around your wrist and when you come across a bag that's open just twist the bag top and slide a rubber band down from your wrist. Might make it easier for you, but maybe not. Thank you, I enjoyed it.

Yes my daddy had two of those stereos and everything work he would play his vinyls and 8 tracks, when he past I had them in storage, had no where to keep them put them on the curb for someone else to get😔
Juan. That nice wooden sliding thing, u said I might be able to get that writing off on that chalkboard. BUT, if you cant get it off go to a craft store and buy black chalk board paint, and there ya go. Hope this helps.

I'm a Night time picker just like you. Best finds are at night. And (like you) I too have my best areas, and my worst areas.. My worst areas/routes I go sometimes (If I'm bored) :) and 99% of the time I'm reminded why I don't go on those routes anymore.

Also, Price to low? Never ! I like to price things low to move stuff out Fast. I will do research on Items I find and see what other people are asking, and then make my ad at half the price just to move them out quick. But sometimes you find a high priced item, and I still price them lower than anyone else but just a few bucks lower and get them out quick.

When I was a kid, everyone was getting rid of "that old console stereo". Now they're collectible, and that thing had an 8-track! 45:42 Bench knife - if you're lucky it's a Dexter. No idea on the big one.

Some of the old, record player needle cartridges are worth big money. It has been awhile but we sold one on Ebay years ago for over two hundred dollars. Could have been a lot more but is some time ago! So, check the cartridge!

Wow Juan, that ice chest is really cool! Last Thursday I found a brand new 6' x 9" area rug in the Kirkland dumpster. The only thing they did was scribble on the label with black marker. I kept it for my LR.
That cash drawer would come in handy for your garage sales. Incredible that the 8 track worked too. That is generally what gave out on consoles. I was trying to instuct you on how to operate it! LOL!

I had abou there stereo s like them one had the record player and old tapes. This one your showing is like the one I had. . My grandsons loved them so they came and picked them up. They say they just love the old stuff. And they still have them .
