If I remember right, more than half of the soul of eternity powers are just the effects of the items used to craft it, so it's basically the whole mod's code + the calamity/thorium/etc code copy pasted into one giant item (I absolutely don't want to read the code of this abomination)

Not quite, it also maps up the effectiveness of some of the abilities as well. I know for a fact that the damage bonuses are quite a bit higher than what the soul of the universe provides. 30% up to 50%, or something like that. So it has to track those separately.
ankh shield takes like 20 minutes usually for me, and its just one of the many steps for the colossus soul, which is one of the 5 steps for the Soul of dimensions, which is one of the 5 (9 if DLC on) items for the Soul of Eternity, so yea, it's pretty insane.

It requires 9 items that have a 1/100 or 1/50 drop chance from different enemies, some of which are harder to obtain than others considering the spawn rate of some enemies. It also requires items from pre hardmode as well. When do you usually make it? Because I might be able to understand if it’s something you make in endgame but if you try to get the ankh shield when it’s intended (mid hardmode-post plantera), then there’s no way it should take you only 20 minutes to craft
@@tyleraguallo9527 the mod where enemies drop tokens, farm some tokens from a blood moon and you easily have 200+ hardmode tokens, each ankh shield item takes about 20 tokens, except for bezoar, which I usually find trying to find queen bee.
Honestly, if you just stay away from the various Fargo's mods you should be fine. Calamity and Thorium have crafting trees closer to vanilla, and with Magic Storage you really don't have to worry about storage space after a certain point.
Here's a very fast summary of things in this one's recipe: Every single armor set, along with a few items from that tier Every single accessory, and half a dozen mounts A unique drop from every single boss, every single biome, and a dozen rare enemies 20 different weapons of each class from various stages in the game All the crafting materials, and every crafting station
yeah cuz it actually isn't super hard to get most of these crazy steps come from the enchantment accessories which are each made out of an armor set + like 3 other weapons. the thing is, fargo's souls adds bosses called champions which drop 3 random enchantments from specific categories every time you kill them which saves countless hours of time the rest of the ridiculous crafting steps come from the souls which require around 10-15 different accessories and weapons to craft each. these are what actually takes the longest to acquire, though fortunately fargo's souls adds some very useful qol features that reduce the grinding time for each of them from like 4 hours to 30 minutes.

I crefted it on my super modded world which apart from the dlc mods also had dbz terraria a extreamly broken mod back then for reference one of the items was ssjg and made you deal 400% damege and 400% more speed that plus the soul plus more random things in other mods pused my speed above the 32 integer limit and lopped back in the negatives for a split second intil i completly went of the map and couldn't move at

love the idea of this item, it's made to prevent people from "maxing" out. So that you will always have something to try to achieve. It's never meant to actually be built, but as a far fetched dream, so you don't run out of things to do.
Though, for those who are indeed so inclined to suffer, there are also several lower- but still quite extreme- steps, so should you choose to undertake this mission, you're still actively achieving things; it's a win-win.

But it's the completionist's wet dream, and it rewards you _heavily_ for doing so. You have a crowning jewel to show for all that damn work you put in.

And if you do it with the dlc recipe, well then you dont have the luxury of the mini bosses iirc so it would take a very long time, even just one of the mods would vastly increase the grind
The DLC mod actually adds 4 other souls used for the Soul of The Universe, possibly making the DLC crafting steps over quadruple the amount from the normal mod.
If you wanna become even more OP I recommend also wearing the true mutants armor and also useing the deviantt's, abomination's, and mutants custom accessories (sparkleing heart, abominable wand, mutant eye) also you should also use the mutants special wepon (the penitraitor) and you should use Ancient seal (sold from mutant)
@@julk1732 I started playing about 2 weeks ago and i spent about 2-3 hours getting ice skates and lava charm so that kinda sucked but i got obsidian rose fairly quickly though not gonna lie, but looking back at it it's probably one of the easiest compared to where i am now.
@@atlantix7976 w ell i found water walking boots early and got hermes boots after all the other stuff for lightning boots and a few playsessions later I found the only lava charm and ice scates(the world had only 1 chest of each). My sister is now stuck at obsi rose. So thats what progress after a week a week of terraria looks like!=3

I'm so glad that Fargo's 1.4 version of the mod has a checkbox list that let's you manually turn off most of the bullshit. It's really helpful for keeping my computer from catching fire.

Last year I lined up the entire crafting tree (Thorium & calamity included) in a google doc. It was a whole 52 pages long and took at least 2 weeks of wiki hunting. Probably outdated now due to mods updating over time though.
I remember crafting the soul of eternity twice already and the 2nd time was easier due to me knowing the patterns of many eternity mode bosses. (Of course I even played in Revengance, Death mode, Defiled mode, Iron heart and Anti-Buff.)
It's really funny that I see this now of all times - I just finished making it yesterday after 2 and a half months because it's such a grind! Taking a break from terraria now for probably the next 3 months because it was so draining though.
Whenever I play with fargo's mod,( without dlc sometimes) I usually collect the important items along the way, so when I get past moonlord, I have just about everything.

saying how many crafting recipes it was needed surprised me that on a multiplayer playtrough i did: two souls of terraria; two souls of the siblings; and... i dont remember that o n l y took five hours
Only thing is, YOU LOSE THE STARDUST POWER WHEN YOU UPGRADE THE SOUL TO ETERNITY, if you want the stardust back, you have to go back and make ANOTHER stardust enchantment, and then make the force for it because it upgrades the ability (stardust enchantment gives you a 5-second timestop with 1 minute cooldown, the force does the same thing, but 9 seconds, with 50 seconds cooldown instead
thats because you beat her the first try, without dying, normally you wouldnt do this, however when you DO cheat, She disapears and a text (from her) appears saying: Go to hell.
Now here’s a weird question in regards to the item. If we already have the soul of eternity and then we install the other bonus content mods, it’s not gonna force us to add those extra items is it? Cause if it’s somehow able to do that than for one, that’s some interesting programming right there and two that would be a MASSIVE kick in the teeth.
You have the item, so they cant just simply take it away by only adding other stuff. The game only sees the item ID and not the materials its crafted with. You cant simply tell what mods where added later, because then every mod update would force this interaction. The only possibility is to give the Basic Soul and the extra Modded Soul different item IDs, so they can delete the old one and force you to make a completely new version.

To be honest, if you have IMK sushis mod, the crafting mod ( i forgot name, it tells you how to craft and where its from), and alchemist NPC mod, crafting AND beating Fargos mod takes ~40 hours. 20 is fighting and making homes, 20 is farming for the enchantments and essence. Its best to make as many enchantments before entering hardmode, and getting the essence of berserker, slinger, mage, and summoner is not as hard as you think, as long you get the items as progression wise
I love this item because it gives a huge goal to work towards for hours and hours and hours, making it so supreme calamitas isn't the end, this item is
Ok, I just finished crafting the Soul of Eternity earlier today (November 14th, 2021). I started the world on November 5th, 2020 and maybe played once or twice a week. I actually built a room full of chests, so I could keep track of what enchantments I did and didn't craft. In total, it took me 113 hours, 42 minutes, and 29 seconds. Oh, and I was playing with Calamity, Thorium, Shadows of Abaddon (or sacred tools), and a few quality of life mods. Was it worth it? Absolutely
Soooooo i wasted over 800 hours of my life making the soule of eternity. Was it worth the time... no did i enjoy making it... to some extent was i happy when i made it... yes and was i satisfied... yes
Honestly crafting the soul of eternity was one of the most hellish things I've ever done. At the time of playing Fargo's Soul Mod for the first time and checking out the crafting recipe, I had not realized that you could get all the enchantments from the Champions so I grinded every single enchantment throughout the game for HUNDREDS of hours and that was just for the enchantments. Everything else also took an enormous amount of grinding. In all, I'd never do it again, but I can brag about it. Also maybe just me, but when I was playing Calamity I spent over 3 days farming the community, I thought the drop rate wasn't even that low... but damn that was hard af to get
the soul of eternity is way easier to get than it seems. the crafting tree shows the crafting steps to make the enchantments too, which in reality is a lot easier to get than it looks because all champion bosses drop the enchants for their forces

Yea, in SOA one of the items requires a Greedy Ring, so you’ll need two Greedy Rings for the SoE. That is straight up archaic.

The DLC mod actually adds 4 other souls used for the Soul of The Universe, possibly making the DLC crafting steps over quadruple the amount from the normal mod.
the dlc increases the crafting tree of the item from around 500 items to 1622 UNIQUE ITEMS
I did this with the 1.4 research table and Calamity and it still took me way too long. And the end result is so overpowered it's not even funny

If you wanna become even more OP I recommend also wearing the true mutants armor and also useing the deviantt's, abomination's, and mutants custom accessories (sparkleing heart, abominable wand, mutant eye) also you should also use the mutants special wepon (the penitraitor) and you should use Ancient seal (sold from mutant)
Last part is most important. But before using it, you should turn on every major mod

wait people think Terraspark Boots are hard? I do admit getting obsidian rose is hard, but the rest is easy and I do it in every run in 1.4!
@@julk1732 I started playing about 2 weeks ago and i spent about 2-3 hours getting ice skates and lava charm so that kinda sucked
but i got obsidian rose fairly quickly though not gonna lie, but looking back at it it's probably one of the easiest compared to where i am now.
@@atlantix7976 w ell i found water walking boots early and got hermes boots after all the other stuff for lightning boots and a few playsessions later I found the only lava charm and ice scates(the world had only 1 chest of each). My sister is now stuck at obsi rose. So thats what progress after a week a week of terraria looks like!=3

@@julk1732 I spent 3-4 hours on the stupid obsidian rose. I also spent about half and hour getting the water walking boots and ice skates. I'm just glad that I happened to find a lava charm when I was exploring because that would've taken forever otherwise.
I'm so glad that Fargo's 1.4 version of the mod has a checkbox list that let's you manually turn off most of the bullshit.
It's really helpful for keeping my computer from catching fire.

How to summerize anything in fargo's souls mod: i don't even know whats happening
Last year I lined up the entire crafting tree (Thorium & calamity included) in a google doc. It was a whole 52 pages long and took at least 2 weeks of wiki hunting. Probably outdated now due to mods updating over time though.
It also makes you immune to 77 debuffs(If calamity is installed, if not then it makes you immune to only 67 debuffs), so yeah, fun!
I remember crafting the soul of eternity twice already and the 2nd time was easier due to me knowing the patterns of many eternity mode bosses. (Of course I even played in Revengance, Death mode, Defiled mode, Iron heart and Anti-Buff.)
It's really funny that I see this now of all times - I just finished making it yesterday after 2 and a half months because it's such a grind!

Ok, anyone who actually crafted this the legit way deserves a medal. I can't fathom the unholy amount of time it would take to grind everything for this item. That's a character you'd want to make sure is backed up multiple times
It took like 30 hours iirc for me. I did it in an already endgame calamity world and it was just a ton of recipe browser and zerg potions.
saying how many crafting recipes it was needed surprised me that on a multiplayer playtrough i did:
two souls of terraria;
two souls of the siblings;
and... i dont remember
that o n l y took five hours

It honestly isn't too bad to get if you craft each thing as soon as you can get it. The worst by far for me was the trawlers soul
I love how the final crafting ingredients are : Soul of Terraria, Soul of the Universe, Soul of Dimensions, r o c k, Soul of Yggdrasil
Only thing is, YOU LOSE THE STARDUST POWER WHEN YOU UPGRADE THE SOUL TO ETERNITY, if you want the stardust back, you have to go back and make ANOTHER stardust enchantment, and then make the force for it because it upgrades the ability (stardust enchantment gives you a 5-second timestop with 1 minute cooldown, the force does the same thing, but 9 seconds, with 50 seconds cooldown instead
The Soul is so powerful that when I used it in my play through Calamitas called me a cheater after I beat her.

thats because you beat her the first try, without dying, normally you wouldnt do this, however when you DO cheat, She disapears and a text (from her) appears saying: Go to hell.

Now here’s a weird question in regards to the item. If we already have the soul of eternity and then we install the other bonus content mods, it’s not gonna force us to add those extra items is it? Cause if it’s somehow able to do that than for one, that’s some interesting programming right there and two that would be a MASSIVE kick in the teeth.
You have the item, so they cant just simply take it away by only adding other stuff. The game only sees the item ID and not the materials its crafted with. You cant simply tell what mods where added later, because then every mod update would force this interaction. The only possibility is to give the Basic Soul and the extra Modded Soul different item IDs, so they can delete the old one and force you to make a completely new version.

To be honest, if you have IMK sushis mod, the crafting mod ( i forgot name, it tells you how to craft and where its from), and alchemist NPC mod, crafting AND beating Fargos mod takes ~40 hours. 20 is fighting and making homes, 20 is farming for the enchantments and essence. Its best to make as many enchantments before entering hardmode, and getting the essence of berserker, slinger, mage, and summoner is not as hard as you think, as long you get the items as progression wise
I love this item because it gives a huge goal to work towards for hours and hours and hours, making it so supreme calamitas isn't the end, this item is

Ok, I just finished crafting the Soul of Eternity earlier today (November 14th, 2021). I started the world on November 5th, 2020 and maybe played once or twice a week. I actually built a room full of chests, so I could keep track of what enchantments I did and didn't craft. In total, it took me 113 hours, 42 minutes, and 29 seconds. Oh, and I was playing with Calamity, Thorium, Shadows of Abaddon (or sacred tools), and a few quality of life mods. Was it worth it? Absolutely
Having the soul of eternity makes you an immortal god = god mode in 1.4 but better
More like soul of slideshow, because once equipped get ready for your framerate to tank as soon as you attack something.

Soooooo i wasted over 800 hours of my life making the soule of eternity. Was it worth the time... no did i enjoy making it... to some extent was i happy when i made it... yes and was i satisfied... yes
At one point, I was ONE step away from finishing it, but I just couldn’t beat eternity mutant

Honestly crafting the soul of eternity was one of the most hellish things I've ever done. At the time of playing Fargo's Soul Mod for the first time and checking out the crafting recipe, I had not realized that you could get all the enchantments from the Champions so I grinded every single enchantment throughout the game for HUNDREDS of hours and that was just for the enchantments. Everything else also took an enormous amount of grinding. In all, I'd never do it again, but I can brag about it.
Also maybe just me, but when I was playing Calamity I spent over 3 days farming the community, I thought the drop rate wasn't even that low... but damn that was hard af to get
The soul of eternity has become sentient I mean it literally beat the poor guys computer along with a lot of the bosses
majority of the recipies can be skipped with a bit of grinding from the fargo bosses. after that it really isnt difficult to craft without cheats.
So essentially, equipping the soul of eternity turns YOU into the final boss of Terraria.

the soul of eternity is way easier to get than it seems. the crafting tree shows the crafting steps to make the enchantments too, which in reality is a lot easier to get than it looks because all champion bosses drop the enchants for their forces
