you are spot on Robert. I didnt know about Utah having a bounty but that is a good way to make people want to go out there and get them. Thanks for your input.
Im with you, i'm not all about just killing but they do not have any natural predators and they wreak havoc on all small game and young fawns in the spring. Im keeping after them. Best of luck on keeping your population under control.
Have you considered using a portable electric fence around the chicken area? Cog Hill uses it for the chickens and for the male goats and steer. It's great because you can easily move it. It would be an additional protection for the chickens. Are you going to look for the coyotes' den?
I know roughly where it is but it’s on the neighbors land and he doesn’t care for hunting the coyotes even though he has cattle that have calves coming soon. He said he doesn’t run into issues unless it’s super cold. So 🤷🏼.
You have to protect your family and you animals. I'm glad you are able to do that for your family and you're good at it. I wonder how many more are out there.🤔 You'll get them, I have faith in you and your abilities. Love seeing Linda out with ya and on here. 👋Hey, awesome mom and wife!God bless. 😊❤
Here in Eastern Ohio coyotes have been invasive pests for no less than 8 years. Killing our live stock, pets, and native wildlife. Our state government refuses to do anything about it. Many of us believe the state and insurances companies collaborated to introduce coyotes to the eastern US to reduce the deer populations
If you would have watched him tearing into my chickens you wouldn’t be saying that. But I understand where you are coming from, i just don’t have a soft spot for them after the damage they have caused.
@@TeamTateOutdoors No ! Nor would I ! I made that, " Tongue in cheek " ! Knowing someone is bound to say something like that, but mean it ! Sorry.....! Didn't mean to, " Ruffle " your feathers, any more than they have been ! All kidding aside, maybe it's time to invest in a Maremma Sheepdog ? I understand they will take care of your coyotes, and then some ! Fight the good fight !
@@sleeve8651 all good here, I’m not upset and I’m going out new Rottweiler will be taking care of them in the near future. But we are looking into another dog possibly in the near future.
This is why Utah has a bounty on coyotes. They don't need to be eliminated BUT coyotes and other predators need to be aggressively controlled.

I'm having the same problem. The coyote population is out of control. I can't hate the coyotes for trying to survive but they have to be delt with.
