I mean WOW. What a speech. When they showed her mom I couldn't hold my tears back anymore! So beautiful. She is one of the greatest to ever do it, yet she used this time to thank so many people, even her deceased surgeon. So much class! A true inspiration!

Here after Dawn Staley, and her South Carolina Gamecocks, have just completed an undefeated season. Her 3rd coaching championship and only the 5th head coach w/an undefeated season in NCAA Women's Basketball. Congrats, and this will not be her last! What a great player, and now an even greater head coach!

Mom, you did it. Tears came to my eyes seeing mom there, probably remembering all the hard times, the smiles seeing her daughter accomplishments was a tear jerking moment tfor me. Moms understand moms. Thank you mom for being there for your daughter through thick and thin. This make my day.
She just won her 3rd National Championship with the South Carolina Gamecocks 2 days ago. She will be in the Hall of Fame for a 2nd time as a coach as well.
I'm an alumni of Raymond Rosen Projects and Dobbins Tech too. So proud of all of us who suceeded in life. Queen Dawn, we love you.

Real winners comes from the projects too. Miss Staley seemed to never be comfortable not achiving greater greatness her entire life. She's always strive to go in one direction, which is up! And she'll bring as many as possible along on her bless it journey. I didn't how her history until now. I did know she is the top of what our community has to offer. We are all so proud.

Loved watching her play at UVA still a season ticket holder, but her years were “ Simply the Best”
It's cool that she mentioned the press in her speech because they loved Dawn! They used to show her giving out work on the courts to men on the news all the time, and that was when they rarely showed high school sports on TV. She killed then, and throughout her career. She was the bomb, but she's still the 2nd best female balla in Philly: the best was Yolanda Laney!!!

Her words to her South Carolina Gamecock nation "Stick with me - we will be national champs". Well, she certainly did- three times over since this speech. Love her story and how grateful she is to so many people in her life and her love of the USA and her realization and appreciation to God for her blessings. Her emotion while describing carrying the flag in the Olympics says a lot about her love of the USA and the integrity and foundation she certainly must have received from her family to appreciate that moment. It’s inspiring listening to a speech like this and about all of the people who touch the lives of others and contribute to their success. And now, she is paying it forward through her foundation and coaching. Our country needs more and more people like this and Dawn is contributing to the development of more quality young women, and players, with her guidance and the example she sets.
