Tried your recipe because I didn't have a lot of ingredients (also modified it a bit) for a complicated sauce... Boy oh boy... my friend was like this is the best version since 2007... I thought I was enjoying it just because It genuinely tasted good but his comment made me realise that it really was good... especially with the hint of lemon...
That's amazing! My recipes are just a guide to bring out the best in your cooking skills 😉 I'm sure your modified version was super yum! Thank you for taking the time to watch my videos & give it a go. Happy cooking.
Definitely gonna try that sauce. I like my muscles cooked into the sauce raw instead of steaming. It brings so much more flavour
Oh cool, I've never had it that way before, will definitely give it a try 😊
@@eatmeerecipes your sauce looks delicious and I can already taste it . But it’s true with mussels , clams etc they pack punches of natural sea salt flavours ,I tend to not Season with salt and I also find that steaming them looses all the flavour .
This is an absolutely wonderful recipe. Done it several times, success everytime 👌 Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for giving it a try and taking the time to comment ☺️ much appreciated

This would go good with garlic noodles 😋
I had to add chilli paste, brown sugar, chilli sauce and garlic powder to make it taste better.. and a little parm cheese too
Tried this recipe 😋👌😍

Nice
Jamin Behari thank you 😊
Hi when using milk in this recipe ..do I add the lemon last just before removing from the heat ..
Yes you can add it last so that the milk doesn't curdle 👍
hi, is it okay to skip the vinegar? or can it be substituted with white wine? it's the only ingredient I don't have
You can leave the vinegar out 👍
@@eatmeerecipes thank you so much! i literally just made this about an hour ago following your recipe, tastes so good!!❤️❤️
@@bella-pt8zx ah thank you so much! So happy you tried it out ☺️👍
How do avoid the lemon juice from splitting the cream?
Do not keep it on the heat too long, also I would suggest using milk instead of cream as cream tends to curdle much faster than milk, but as long as you don’t keep it on the heat too long, it should be good 👍🏼
What kind of cream to use, is it any cream
Yeah, I used fresh cream...you can use pouring or whipping cream (just don't whip it)
Do the mussels have to be opened and cleaned before cooking?
Caia Pettis hi, yes it does. I usually buy them opened already.
My momma would've slapped me if I didn't add white wine to a mosselpotjie.
Haha, to each their own, if you love the addition of wine then add that in...don't hate me but I ain't a wine lover 🙈😅
@@eatmeerecipes I'm definitely not hating! It looks delicious. I'm actually cooking a mosselpotjie right now and don't have any wine on me... Using your video as inspiration.
@@pietpadda593 aw thanks 😘
How do I incorporate wine into this recipe
You can add it to the sauce 👍
Damn that looks nice 😭😭
Thank you
What kind of cream is that? All purpose cream?
It’s fresh cream / pouring cream. You can also use long life cream of you have that on hand.
Denisiya Hemraj is it all purpose cream Im confused
Leah Ann Roush yes it is. You can usually find this in the fridge section with the sour cream, milk, etc
Recipe looks good, but the only problem is... You don’t have measurements. You’re use to cooking it,so you know the right portions of your ingredients. As a first timer... I would like to get it right and not taste it to know what more or what less to put in it for the second time around. Just food for thought. Great recipe though. Thank you.
The measurements and ingredients are in the description.... You can also find the full step by step recipe there, please check 👍

Hi
Hi there
Why not just cook the mussels in the sauce?
Oh you most definitely can cook them in the sauce but this is just how I prefer doing them, I like that it has a hint of the vinegar flavour in them - as you cannot add vinegar to a white sauce because it will curdle the milk/cream.
Where is the ciabatta
I didn't have any on hand 🤣 so had them with bread rolls
