- This was shot during Holiday in the Park at Six Flag Fiesta Texas. I'm the engineer in most of this video. You get to see a little bit of what we do in the mornings while prepping the train. Since I'm not allowed to use a phone while I'm operating, I had my little brother record from outside the station while he was visiting.
Just a quick Disclaimer: I do not represent Six Flags in any way, nor is this official media from the company or the park Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I just had my little brother record this because I thought people might find this interesting.
The marketing department should do a whole series of videos on how you all inspect test and get all the rides up and running in the morning. Even other departments. Behind the scenes videos would probably be popular.
Hard to believe Fiesta is 30 years old this year. I 1st went there when it was 3 weeks old. Everything smelled new. Even the staff!
That's a Cummins diesel, isn't it? Will the park ever bring back Gretta? I miss its unique whistle!
I believe it is. More specifically a 5.9L 12 valve. They keep talking about bringing Gretta back, but stuff keeps getting in the way. I think they have most of the parts to get her going, but the train currently in service is keeping maintenance's hands full.

Thank you. One time in 2019 or 2021, crews placed a small engine generator on top of the “drive car”. I can understand that ol’ 5.9L is doing its best!
@@chasem8491 Generally any kind of generator is not for actually powering anything on the train. The train is actually just a standard automotive 12v system using the diesel's alternator. Any generator is usually for Christmas lights or other ornaments and effects like smoke machines during Fright Fest.
@@railsrust Ah just kidding. Thanks for clarifying! Was it true there was one point in time where crews tried to convert Gretta to run vegetable oil?
@@Chasem7981 That's actually why she isn't running. From one of the older engineers, he said that they tried to convert Kitty over and blew up the motor. They just stole Gretta's tender with working engine to keep Kitty running.

This was shot during Holiday in the Park. I kept forgetting to upload this. I would have redone this more recently, but the train has been out for a month or two due to construction of the new roller coaster at the park.
