@@525sixhundredMinutesyes the Ultimate Supports Bluetooth :) But its better to Plug in the Charging Station and use the 2.4gh method because of connection and Input Delay
Watched all of your 8bitdo videos before picking up the Ultimate Bluetooth. One thing you didn't mention here is the Ultimate 2.4 Ghz version received a firmware update that enables Bluetooth. So now the Ultimate Bluetooth and Ultimate 2.4 Ghz are essentially the same except for the Hall Effect Joysticks, the Nintendo Switch player lights, and the lack of a dedicated Bluetooth pairing button. (They have you hold the star button for Bluetooth pairing) Ultimately (no pun intended), the Hall Effect sticks were the kicker that made me choose the Bluetooth version. It's great that they're making the controllers more functional through updates though.
Does this firmware update allow bluetooth connection to switch or to pc as well? I can't figure out how to use the wireless function without it disabling my wifi for some reason and idk why.
@@BabyIonian It's supposed to be used with the Switch, unfortunately I don't know about PC. I got the Ultimate Bluetooth version of the controller and 8BitDo themselves say that you are not supposed to be able to use Bluetooth with PC or Android but I have used Bluetooth with both of those devices since I got it. It's quite confusing I must admit.
I was skeptical, but the 8BitDo Ultimate Controller (I got the blue one) has really won me over. I just love how easy it is to use on PC. It turns on and connects to the 2.4 GHz dongle that's plugged into my PC the moment I take it out of its charging dock, and it disconnects and turns off the moment I put it back. Anyway... I'm not a fan of the weird squiggles at the bottom of the Genshin Impact controller, but the rest of it looks great. I especially like the idea of a metal d-pad. And they really need to start selling those cases separately. Amazon has a few Ultimate Controller cases to choose from that aren't from 8BitDo (I have the Aenllosi one), but it would have been nice to get an official one for my controller.
Kind of a letdown that not even a genshin-exclusive controller can allow you to play genshin on android. But hey atleast you can use it to play genshin on pc or ps4(5).
@@IceBlueLugiayou can do the same with any other controller, you just have to download an app, which allows map touching. That's just not convenient to play game with the layout on screen knowing that on ios there is an official controller support

I remember being so excited to play Genshin Impact, then it came out and I didn't really like it very much lol. I've always been fond of the designs of the characters and merch they've received over the years however, some pretty good stuff.
just a nitpick.... but if I was able to create how my character looked in the game I think I'd have been more interested in Genshin Impact. Yeah I know character customization isn't for everyone.
I LOVE/HATE 8bitdo. I love them because their controllers are awesome. I hate them because of how much of my money they've gotten. Very few 3rd Party controllers have been worth spit and almost none would I take over an official controller. 8Bitdo on the other hand always finds ways to get my interest in buying something from them even in this case something I really don't need. To be fair I really didn't buy much from them since 2021, that said I have a rather HUGE 8Bitdo collection. But this year became one of their big years for me, wow a NeoGeo controller? a Keyboard that fits well with Retrogaming on the PI? But ever since it's release I took no interest in 8Bitdo's "Ultimate" controller as it didn't seem "retro" inspired enough for my collection. Then they did the Famicom editions that I was like Ok fine I'll get those for my collection (though I never took them out of the box) then I got one of those Anniversary editions cause on the website I thought it looked blue (actually green) and thought that'd be it for the Ultimate controller for my collection..... then they did the unthinkable and released an actual blue version and then while I thought again I was done with the ultimate controller then they released this. I don't need it, but it looked too good to pass up. I haven't decided if it's staying in it's box though.
Main controllers we use on our devices. Just have a four port usb hub that we move around depending on what device we're playing on. Wish 8 bit do would put a bit more identifiers on their receivers. Habe somany of these silly bricks that look almost identical.
Hi just a few questions, may I know if the 8bitdo ultimate 2.4 can do multiple macro's like put it on rt,rb etc or the 2 buttons at the back is the only available macro's i can use?
I really confused. basically bluetooth is avaiable but can't use the bluetooth on pc and only 2.4ghz? is it just they disabled it so we buy another controller that is bluetooth?
I couldn't care less about Genshin. Until this video I didn't know it was available for things other than Androids and iPhones. That said; I absolutely love the looks of this controller. It's beautiful. If I didn't know it was a video game tie-in I wouldn't know from looking at this unit. That's a credit to 8BitDo.
On PC yeah but not on Android without a software. Blame it on the devs a deal probably with Apple if we're all being honest. They got 120fps while PC user has to use a mod smh. There is no reason why GI isn't unlocked on the PC by now it's ridiculous. I don't play it but my daughter does so that's how I know. 😅
I have a few questions about this controller before I buy it first of all does it have Halled joysticks because I want a controller that does not drift too much and secondly can this controller connect to switch like I love the design but the switch is what I will mostly use it for and I need to know if it can connect to the switch
Is this compatible with the switch? The other versions does says it compatible with steam deck and the switch but this one only says apple and andriod...
With many other android games yes, but i am not sure if there is controller support on genshin impact for this controller. Quite often in some games there's no controller support for certain controllers, so i would recommend buying PS or Xbox controller. There’s no android support yet for some odd reason-
Also do you know if it’s Xbox compatible?
It's irritating how mihoyo stupidly refuses to add a fuccing controller support on Android. While going full support on iOS, console and Pc.
So it’s all touch controlled? There’s a controller by Gamesir that allows you to map touching the screen in certain areas to each button
they def doing it on purpose. Their other games like honkai star rail support controller on andorid
Anti Consumer for sure. Makes no sense not to have it. All we have is apps to support button mapping that doesn't always work.
