A swimming hole is just a local swimming spot, on a creek, river or pond. The country life is the best. I've lived in the country my whole life, and it is a great place to be a kid.
Was an awesome place to grow up, just Me my dog and my pellet gun. It's all gone now, all grown up. the place's I hunted and fished are all suburbs now. I've moved on out into the hills of north GA
In my neck of the woods in Scotland all the kids from every family hung around together regardless of age or gender n we all looked out for each other 😀
Don’t wait! You just explained exactly why to move the country. You’ll pick it up. It’s beautiful here. The Smoky Mtns are beautiful! I’ll show you around. He’s in Tennessee. Cheatham County(Nashville).
This song is probably my favorite Upchurch song. Just because I grew up in and around very small towns and my family owns land. So this song is just so relatable to my upbringing. I love it! Glad you guys like it as well.
Hey Guys, Hubby and I have been watching reactions for about a year and a half. We watch all kinds of music even though we are Boomers and live on 70s rock and roll and love watching young people react to the live concerts on UA-cam. Today, we clicked on your channel for the first time. We did not know who Upchurch is until today. When we saw My Neck of the Woods, a road sign says Little Pond Creek Road. I knew immediately he was in Cheatham County. We have lived out here in the 'woods' of Cheatham County for 20 years and Upchurch describes perfectly what goes on out here 20 miles from Nashville. We live out here because there is 'freedom' to do what you want and neighbors are an acre away. We are city people from Dallas, but love the country lifestyle even though we both work in Nashville. It is worth the drive to go from city to country in 20 minutes. We like the old Outlaws (Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson) you should check out their songs....they are timeless. For rapping go to Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem" ua-cam.com/video/wCWVuCCWqzQ/v-deo.html We will be watching your channel - you two have a great vibe going and understand you are attracting 'old white folks'..................thank you for the fun~
😆😆🥳🤩 that’s awesome lol!! We haven’t heard any of those artists before but we just started our rock & metal journey so we’ll be sure to check them out! Thanks for joining us and recommending some old outlaws. Cheatham looks beautiful, serene, and peaceful btw
Swimming hole I had growing up had a rope swing and was always packed full of people. Lost my class ring in that hole of water! Wish Upchurch would stayed longer here in Wv, was wanting to ride can ams with him
This is the type of simple living that we should all be doing everything we can to ensure survives. A simpler life is always a better life! There's just no better way of life than the country life! God bless! 🙏🇺🇲❤️
I paid a $300. mortgage for a lake house and that included taxes and insurance. 2 minutes from city limits so, no city requirements. The town was adorable. Surrounded by water, it was so fun. Our water hole was called bridals jump
Swimming hole typically a common spot of calm water along a river or creek that locals use for swimming Can also be a pond or lake. Not many swimming pools in the country.
I grew up in Northwest Florida...north end of Pensacola to be exact. A little bit of country, a little bit of city, and a little bit of beach. I love where I grew up, but I always love getting away to the mountains. Great reaction yall!!!
This song is so good. It reminds me of how life was in the 80s and 90s. I miss the old days. If you haven't heard hollar boys by upchurch, you should react to that too. That explains even more what so many people want to go back to.
Love this song its my ringtone! Reminds me of my childhood as a barefoot bandit and my little town i live in KY! And it ain't aged a day in time! This is one of my top favorite songs from upchurch! Love his music!
The country is so free, and beautiful. Born and raised in Alabama. Lived in south Florida for years, moved back to raise my children here. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Much Love 💕✌🏼🔥🍿
Y’all definitely need a trip to the country!! My neighbor is a few acres down the road.. I grew up with 100+ acres of gorgeous country to play on., We would stay out in the woods, playing in the creek from morning until we heard an adult yelling for us to come up for dinner and go back out until dark.. Then my teenage years, before cell phones, everyone would meet at the Walmart parking lot at 7pm every Friday & Saturday night to figure out what we were doing! If it was football season, we would meet after the game. I have tried living in the city, but I felt like everyone was packed in there together! Living out in the country is a different way of life.. Slower, simple and relaxing... it’s a little after 5am and I just woke up on my porch, where I fell asleep at around midnight:).. Your neighbors are always there to help. The one down fall of living in a small town is everybody knows your business, lol.. But the only ones that will talk about it are the elder women around town:)... The population is diverse also.. you get a lot more property for your money out here! Whatever you are paying to live in the city could put you in a massive sized home out here!! Y’all would love it and it’s a great place to raise children! Also, extremely proud to say that two of my hometown boys got drafted this weekend! We all knew they would make it to the NFL and they did!!!!! So I gotta shout out Chazz & Sage Surratt!!!!! So much respect for their family for keeping the focused and on the right track. Those boys very, very rarely showed up to a party after a game, never seen them with any girls... Chazz had a 4.75 gpa when he graduated. They are both smart and extremely talented! I’m so excited for them!!!!! I’m in NC, just west of Charlotte.. I’m just a short drive to the mountains and a couple of hours from the ocean.. the best of both worlds! You most definitely need to visit the outer banks of NC and go see the wild horses on the beach!!! It’s one of the most amazing things to see... I’ve seen them a million times, but it always feels like the first time. I’m done rambling!!! Another great reaction!!!
Such another amazing reaction, you two have truly felt the soul through the work of the Country Goat Ryan Upchurch. I enjoy watching your reactions and he is from Tennessee..living in the country is so peaceful..i live in Iowa and I promise you, give country life a chance and it will change your image of country folk living.
My 3rd cousin moved out to north Dakota to a town, where there is literaly 1 church, school, PD station for miles. The population is like a few hundred. However, they take care of their own like everybodys family. Chilli cook offs, community BBQs, harvest festivals. That brings new meaning to small town living.👌👌🤠🤠
Go to the country, you'll love it. I grew up in the country in Washington then had to move to near Seattle when my father died at 19. I miss it everyday and have been trying to get back. We had watering holes for fishing and swimming and horses and bonfires in high school. I miss it almost as much as my father and he was my best friend.
Growing up hillbilly in WV a lot of these are my memories too. I didn’t appreciate it when I was younger but now? Now I understand and appreciate those mountain roots. The peace n quiet, the simplicity, the kindness of people, the beauty of nature....Great place to grow up. 🙂
Really nice reaction. “Swimming hole i don’t even know what that is.” That’s awesome, you should find one, great to grow up with them. You should definitely visit some country.
Swimming holes can be anything from a pond, rock query, sometime there were sinkholes in East TN that were full of clear water and you couldn't ever get to the bottom... but ya it's real peaceful in the country, you guys would love it! Killed this reaction! 🔥🔥😘 I moved back to the country after living in Fayetteville for 3 years
Guys, I just started listening to the two of you about a month ago, and I admit, for a 53 yr old country boy, I love your refreshing looks at a lot of my new favorite artists. Church, Tom McDonald, Jelly, Struggle and a few others. Check out Crucifix with Minefield, or Overtime singing Bad Attitude. Maybe throw in Lacs also. So many great independent artist out there now.
Great videos! I've been listening to a select few country rap artists for close to 10 years now and I found upchurch before he put out his first album. He's one of the "real ones" in the industry.
This video was shot in his hometown. I grew up in the same town. It is a very slow pace of living. I was a Junior in High School in 1996 when the town got it's first chain restaurant and that was McDonald's.
A swim hole is a deep spot in the creek you live near sometimes you might have to help damn it up or dig it out a little but there is always one close and the local kids no where love you guys and upchurch 💜
The cliff he was sitting on is in his hometown. He did a bike ride vlog to that same spot and while he was recording there was another artist (Christian singer) doing a video so, apparently its a popular area for video scenes & photography.
During the summer any pool of water off the side of the road that is big deep enough in a creek or river is where we swim. The a rope up in the tree and swing in. We call them rose holes. There's cars parked all down the side of the road.
You guys are awesome. You don’t claim to understand all the country references and are just honest and real but you both seem to really want to be a part of it. That’s what it is all about. Being where you are now is definitely City n Beach. I was down there for 7 years. My buddy is up in northern Florida and you can get that country feel but still be in driving distance to the beach or to a big city. But yes having land to do as you please is an awesome feeling.
Lex, your hair is so cute! 😊 I love it fixed like that. I live in the country, but all the water holes round here have cottonmouths in them. 🐍 I never got to swim in them as a kid.
If you get a chance to just drive through small towns through the South you will fall in love. The best people, the most beautiful scenery and nothing beats it. You have to experience a mud bog. I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING.
Yes! I’ve been waiting on this one!! Such a good song! I’m from the country and we got like 3 different swimming spots we go to with ropes to swing from! Had a blast jumping from them ropes, and now my son is too! Such great memories at the lakes! Another great song by Upchurch that’s more of a country song too is “Blue Moon”, if you haven’t already reacted to it! It’s really good! A good rap song by him is “Me Ok” (Jeezy remix bored)!!

I was born and raised in a rural area in North florida, it's very much a free and outlaw vibe out here. No traffic lights for at least 20 miles in any direction. Just corn, cows, and trailers. I wouldn't trade my freedom out here for anything. I do whatever I want in my yard with no worries. We shoot stuff, have massive fires, and drink/smoke wherever whenever. Y'all need to have at least one friend in the country in your circle lol just for the experiences.
Our high school was in the middle of a corn field and our closest neighbor was a mile away. I'd love to get some land like I grew up on but the cost is so high now.
Y'all belong down here lol. Freedom for real. We recently tried to move and as soon as we saw the lay or the land turned around immediately and came back to our green mountain!
FYI Church is from Ashland City, TN. I live in Mount Juliet, TN which is about 35 to 40 mins away. Definitely country out here. But we do have some city options. It's actually a nice blend. And I have great neighbors.
I love a good swimming hole... Creek, river or pond. It's a spot you can have a nice swim and chill. Thank God I'm a country boy! A country boy WILL survive!
Our swimming hole was called the little dam we dammed a creek and made 14 ft deep was the best days but in the country the are days lke you are still a kid so much stuff to do and we have great lakes also good fishing you need to get out of the city it will make you grow old fast my great grandmother is 104 she also tells everyone the country has kept her alive
It's a creek where trees are along the side and a rope tied to a limb that has knots tied at the bottom that you grab and get onto the second knot. Walk back then run n swing out holding on then let go. Sometimes they are at lakes but they get took down a lot from lakes. They dont bother the rope swings at the "swimming holes" that are in random spots on a back road. Just pull off the road n walk to it n swim in the creek with the fish and snakes. That's exactly what he's saying 😆
Your definitely a great couple..please don't wait too long to make that move. Also the state of Missouri has a lot of country in it. Lex was right you will both say," why did we wait so long to do this." The country is so peaceful and tranquil. Country folk are very understanding and very laid back. @Brad and Lex
Swimming hole: Usually an old quarry that gets filled by rain, any depression that will hold water fits the bill though. I don’t recommend coal mines...toxic water and all.

He uses his hometown for almost every music video. He still lives in his hometown
A swimmin hole is any place that everybody goes to just swim, drink, and have a good time
Plenty of swimming holes here in NZ where im from 💯 man made an natural
Your hair looks amazing
It's a creek where trees are along the side and a rope tied to a limb that has knots tied at the bottom that you grab and get onto the second knot. Walk back then run n swing out holding on then let go. Sometimes they are at lakes but they get took down a lot from lakes. They dont bother the rope swings at the "swimming holes" that are in random spots on a back road. Just pull off the road n walk to it n swim in the creek with the fish and snakes. That's exactly what he's saying 😆
I love this one
I think I hear a sample of " Sarah smile" Hall and Oats❤
He was in Tennesse that’s where he’s from
So Versatile !!! 💭
Friday night at the Sonic, a Southern staple for teenagers.
We did it when I was a teenager. We have a Sonic right next to our old high school. Now the city is bigger so we have multiple high schools for MJ!
Yes ,do( Fallen) he sings with his mom !!!
dont wait. make that move. the country will treat you right.
Your definitely a great couple..please don't wait too long to make that move. Also the state of Missouri has a lot of country in it. Lex was right you will both say," why did we wait so long to do this." The country is so peaceful and tranquil. Country folk are very understanding and very laid back. @Brad and Lex
Try “white lighting” 🔥🤘🔥
Yep... they should..🔥🤘🏼
Swimming hole: Usually an old quarry that gets filled by rain, any depression that will hold water fits the bill though.
I don’t recommend coal mines...toxic water and all.
