Having worked in joinery shops for over 40 I can connect with most of that. Why is a job always urgent until you finish it then it sits round in the shop for weeks
Yeah, I know, right. So many times, we have sent urgent jobs out only to see them sitting against the wall 3 weeks later when visiting the site.
I know the feeling. Really hit the mark with this video. I avoid phone calls in the day. If they’re customers they will leave a message or email. And I don’t waste time on the cold callers
Yeah, I tried that years ago and found myself running to the phone to make sure it wasn't something important 🤣
A little more discipline needed for me on that one.
Good job fellas. As a hobby woodworker I can create my own ‘work flow’ disturbances/diversions but I can imagine how yours can really mess with a timeline. Enjoyed that take!

My day is very similar, but before I even get out of bed it’s deleting all the scam emails and bullshit!
Then if I’m lucky I’ll get a coffee before all the website builders call, then the ones that ‘aren’t selling you anything’ sweep the dogshit off the floor, and start making something… F@&k where’s the Allan key for the spindle, why aren’t the ovolo cutters in the drawer…. Then get wood out the loft and come down the ladder to get the phone… hopefully a job… nah! It’s one of those super friendly Pakistani telemarketers! ‘Hey I’m looking for the business owner… Mr stuuuwart is dat you…. Hey! How are you!? How is your day going… that’s great…’
Haha, it's dejavu. It's just insane how much of my day gets wasted by the electricity deals or new hot water system free from the government.
About 1 in 20 calls is about a job.
