Thank you so much for this review. I have used quite a few Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks. The Annecy is a definite must try and as a fountain pen user, I would love to see how other inks and nibs perform on this paper. I truly appreciate your time, video, and honest feedback. Love your content. Be well and stay safe.
I've been mainly using it with my fountain pens, but only my sailor pens so far. I'll let you know how the other nibs and pens write on it in the future, especially since I'll be sharing more fountain pen and ink videos on my channel.
In terms of value for money, I think the Exceed brand notebooks from Walmart are the best value. They come in two different sizes (traditional A5 and a slightly narrower moleskine type size) and they also come in a lighter weight paper and a heavier weight paper. They are about $9 and very convenient to be able to pick up in store.
I'll have to check them out whenever I drive to Walmart again. Unfortunately, the nearest Walmart is about an hour away from me (plus an $8 highway toll), so it's not convenient for me to be able to get it. Maybe I can order it online though...
The next time I buy a notebook, it will probably be an A5 Exceed notebook from Walmart. It is dot grid with 100 GSM paper. I also like the Erin Condren notebooks, but I only buy them when they are on sale. I am currently using an Artist's Loft notebook from Michael's and it's working well. I love Stalogy notebooks too! Edited to add that I may try this notebook too.
I've bought several different dot books on Amazon UK, a variety of different brands, and they're all pretty decent, even with fountain pens. Rettacy, Emshoi, Stationery Island. The only thing they lack is numbered pages, but I don't mind adding those in myself. Gotta say though, my favourite is Ottergami; they're slightly more expensive than the "generic" ones, but still around 25% cheaper than Leuchtturm. Their paper quality is top-notch.

Great review! I think I like the Annecy one because of the thicker paper.
Thanks for the comparison! I'm adding it to the cart for my next Amazon order
You're welcome!
One of the languages is German. The word leuchtturm translates to lighthouse in English 😊 (I'm from Sweden but studied German for six years)
Thank you for sharing that with me!

I like the Artist's loft notebooks...They're remind me of Archer and Olive's notebooks. I've grown to love Stalogy notebooks, too.
Amazing review. So helpfull and complete. Thanks for share
Glad it was helpful!
I found a L-don't-know-how-to-spell-it 1917 at the flea market brand new for $1. I haven't used it yet.
Use it or send it to me!🙋🏾♀️🤗😆 It's a great notebook! I've been using it for years. The Annecy is an awesome knock-off, too!

Rettacy is another notebook that I want to try. I'll have to see if I can find Ottergami in the U.S.
