Our 15 yr old fraternal twin daughters barefoot at Walmart.
The challenge was to film yourself going barefoot in a public place to change a common misconception. We wish to show it is legal, acceptable, and quite nice.
Shoes are usually very filthy, our feet get washed daily. It's not like we eat or touch anything but the ground with them. Plus barefoot is better for balance issues and walking barefoot on grass is amazing for your back & knees.

My husband and I choose to go barefoot for several health reasons, but for us it is not a fetish. Raising our kids this way was only natural.
BUT We do sometimes wear shoes.
We consider shoes, like gloves, to be tools or decoration. They aren't needed all the time.

I am sorry for your loss. I am curious about something because I have certainly considered this myself. Do stores allow barefoot? I would imagine some businesses have policies about at least wearing flip flops.
Thank you. For your question, It depends on the store policy, (or even management on duty at the time). By law, Privately owned business have the right to refuse service to those who refuse to follow their policies and can ask law enforcement to escort that person off of their property if they refuse to leave or follow the policy. Some argue that that is a form of religious or medical discrimination but it's still allowed, even though they risk a lawsuit.
Sometimes they post signs on the doors such as "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service" but not in every case.
Personally, I have no problem with companies who POST A WARNING and exercise this freedom. Private businesses are private property and I wouldn't want some stranger telling me what to do in my own business.
I do have a problem with those that don't post a sign or random uneducated people who lie and insist its a health department regulation or against the law because being barefoot bothers them personally.
I'm also alittle bothered by this foot fetish thing, not because of the fetish itself*, but because of paranoid, self-righteous åsshöles that use the fear of it to try to control other people's behavior.

* My policy is that as long as you don't hurt or bother anyone else in any way, "you do you". Any "sin" is between that person & God. I will always be respectful, but I cannot live my life in fear of causing anyone else to "stumble". I love to help people, but I'm not going to sacrifice my freedoms for another person's comfort, especially if they are paranoid, selfish, or self-righteous. (I won't set myself on fire to keep anyone else warm.)
@@davedahowell8694 I appreciate that. I am sort of pep talking myself to go for a barefoot walk in the park. It sounds rather silly but I wonder how many people will look at me like I'm nuts. They, obviously, don't understand a concept that I'm getting closer to nature and being quietly spiritual.

Dear @@davedahowell8694, I am also, like a Martian. There are so many things here in Romania that I am not allowed to do... nothing. This Corona virus created great hysteria, as if the end of the world were coming. So I walk down the street with a mask on my face and barefoot.
But now, I am preparing to retire. This fall (in October) I will cease my work. So I will be freer, so I will have more time for my life and my health. And so I'll go longer without shoes.

🔴 And even now in 2023, dear Daveda /@@davedahowell8694 , I can say that I am well, and even happier: in the meantime I became a pensioner (due to illness, after 33 years of working in a toxic environment, as a pharmacist). So now I have more free time to go barefoot around the world !

When this video was taken, neither of them had been in anything akin to a serious relationship with anyone. Being homeschooled i doubt they even had their first kiss.
Since this video was taken, the older and shorter of our twins, Angelic (blonde), passed away from Sudden Cardiac Arrest due to a common gentic heart condition called Mitral Valve Prolapse. All 4 of my kids as well as myself and several other extended members of our family have it too. We've known this for a long time, but all the cardiologists told us that was relatively harmless until we became elderly. The last thing a healthy 15 yr old, who has live with this her whole life and rarely drinks caffeine, would expect is need to recognize the symptoms of cardiac arrest while sitting on her bed watching Princess Diaries. (She typically watched true crime shows wanting to become a homicide detective, so this was mild).
I tell you all of this because she wasn't looking to date anyone, she had her goals.
Her twin is different, not as driven, but also way too shy and not ready to date at that time. (Her words, not mine).
Its been almost 2 and a half years since her sister's death and she currently does have a boyfriend.

jay P unfortunately no, we view shoes as tools, to be used IF needed. Most of the time all 4 were/are barefoot and proud.

I would've loved the girls to put there shoes on just to irritate mom filming & say got you mom & then go shoeless again until you have to put them on because some places won't let you in without shoes on because of there policy rule wich is sometimes reads no shirt no shoes no service but that also means no shoes no service in some places.
They would have done just that, to be silly.
Yeah we come across places like that, funny that its most often gas/petrol stations.
Tbh, this is the reason why we did this challenge. There are some who cannot where shoes for medical reasons or refuse to for religious beliefs, refusing service based on this is a form of discrimination.

I'm not exactly sure why its looked down on, I promise that I wash my feet daily (sometimes more) alot more than people wash their shoes. I dont touch my feet and I certainly don't eat with them. There is a risk of disease only if you're standing for a period of time in fecal matter. There is also a risk of injury, a d some stores have this policy for legal reasons, but its very unlikely a barefoot person would be successful in a lawsuit. It is understood that hen barefoot in public, you opt for that risk. There has been hundreds of successful lawsuits for people who have injured themselves.

I'm just glad you girls are only doing this for discrimination purposes to prove a point because I don't want you gorgeous girl getting sick or contracting the coronavirus so please stay safe & God bless your mom dad & you two lovely girls.
@@kaleblesmeister2954 Thank you, for your kind words, but no worries on catching covid. We are very lucky and rarely catch anything contagious and if so recover very quickly, plus you can't get covid though your feet 😉. That being said, we always follow store policy for shoes and masks. We understand that though we might not fear it, others do and we wish to be respectful.
Unfortunately we do know what it feels to loose a child/sister. Angelic (the older, but short blonde twin) (yes, the girls were fraternal twins) died of Sudden Unexpected Cardiac Arrest due to a common gentic heart condition on July 5, 2018, just a few months after this video was recorded.

I'm am deeply sorry for your lose of one of your twin girls after that video but still my deep condolences especially to all the covid-19 patients who have died due to the disease .
@@davedahowell8694 were do you guys live when you filmed that video before one of your girls passed away suddenly & my deepest condolences to you & her sister because I know how it feels losing a family member because my grandma was in AZ to get away from are NorthDakota winter when she was killed in a car accident in AZ so I don't have a grandma or grandpa Anymore .
