GAME: Fate/Samurai Remnant
AUTHOR: Omega Force, Koei Tecmo
Fate/Samurai Remnant lets players play as Miyamoto Iori. The combat is hack and slash style with some similarities to musou gameplay, but it falls under the Action RPG genre with dodging and looking for openings as an important element. It features a wide array of stances, which the player character can switch between on the fly. Iori uses dual katanas, a widespread weapon for Samurai during the Edo period. Players can give commands to their servant, launching special attacks and combos. In certain situations, the game allows for full control of Iori's servant, as his weapons can't be used against other servants.

If you remember from all the way back in Persona 4, Kanji's mother explains that combs "don't make very good gifts," because they're a symbol of separation in Japanese mythology. So you could say that Saber's gift to Kaya, and by extension to the heroic spirit of Otachibana within her, is a symbol of their parting; a beautiful, final goodbye, so they can finally move on from the pain carried even through reincarnation.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, considering they outright say it parallels another comb in their lives together, but this is a very Japanese game, so I thought to bring it up.
It's best you did honestly. Combs in Japanese media tend to use this symbolism, a lot so i don't think you're reading into it.
So now that you know Rogue Lancer's True Name, Cu Chulainn, it puts some earlier interactions into new light:
You see, the title of 'Cu Chulainn' means 'Hound of Culann'. It was a title he earned when he ended up killing the giant guard dog to the Culann house and swore he would watch over the house until they could get another guard dog. This is why when you first meet him, he calls himself 'the guard dog of this place'. It's him being cheeky about his true identity. And even the game itself refers to him as a 'Hound'.
All of this also makes the exchange between himself and Gilgamesh interesting too. Gilgamesh refers to Iori and Saber as Mongrels constantly, so we do not think much of it at the time. But whenever he speaks about Cu Chulainn, he specifically refers to him as a 'Mutt', even asking if he belongs to Iori. Initially it just seems like Gilgamesh is being his usual self (and he is), but with the added context of Rogue Lancer's True Name, it must come across as especially insulting to Cu Chulainn. As it almost sounds like Gilgamesh is making fun of his legacy as a Heroic Spirit.
Just something I realised that I thought was a little interesting.
If you’re confused by how Cu’s Gae Bolg works, think of it like this; Usual cause and effect is: Because I threw the spear (cause) your heart got pierced (effect). By reversing c&e it becomes something akin to: Because your heart got pierced (cause) I threw the spear (effect). Basically it just messes with reality where you will literally die before the spear is thrown.
If Cu's luck wasn't so horrible his np would be one of the most useful in a grail war. It already is really strong, being able to easly use it multiple times he could kill several servants in a single night, but sometimes fate likes to screw him over

It’s not that his own luck screws him, it’s that he’s facing opponents who have high luck stats,

Actually, that's not what he's using in this game. The causality reversal is the melee version that the game mentions focus on accuracy. This is the thrown version that has a massive explosion.

Fun fact, there is an Achilles servant! In his debute series he reveals his true name in the first scene he was in! Basically saying "Yeah good fucking luck even hitting my heal!"
And contrary to the myth, all hitting the heel does is turn off the invulnerability. Still leaving a powerful and well-trained warrior to deal with.
@@Cyclonestorm8 true but to be honest he's not that invulnerable since it can be bypassed by divinity equal or higher than his or with divine construct so it's only fair that pearced heel is not an instant loss for him.

To be fair, the enemy archer already knew who he was so it wouldn't have made much difference if he didn't announce it.
11:00 - this gets into one of my favorite aspects of the idea of the Holy Grail War: The fact it is temporary. See, Servants are summoned from the Grail for the battle and, unless something miraculous happens, they will disappear. Every Master/Servant relationship is inherently time limited. And because of that, you see so many different reactions to it. Some Masters see their servants as mere weapons, others stay distant because they may not be able to handle the time being cut short, and finally you have the masters that care so deeply for their servants that they don't care if those ephemeral days will soon come to an end... them simply happening is wonderful enough. Is Saber sad that they will be ripped away from Ototachibana Hime and Iori? Or happy that they were able to experience it at all?
I think it's beautiful. Living in the now and accepting nothing lasts forever is so hard, but finding peace with it is a magical thing.
Personally, I've always absolutely despised that aspect of it with a passion. 😅

So funny thing, Cu Chulainn actually DOES say his name in that dialogue right before the game says you formed a bond with him. However for some reason the localization team wrote his dialogue to just say that he'll lend you his spear anytime. The localization team for this game makes a lot of strange and suspect decisions in terms of translations that are honestly frustrating.
"Evil ogre" but then the enemy called "Oni-bi" is right there. Not to mention just cutting the name of various gods or stuff that are directly mentioned in dialogue cause ???
From the last chapter onward this is when True Name really got confirmed.
Cu Chulainn is such a well-known Fate character that there's no fanfare to his True Name being revealed at all. As for why everyone referred to him as a dog is because his name means Hound of Chulainn. Basically he killed someone's guard dog and to repent work in its place and is addressed as such instead of his birth name Setana.
Rider's identity is practically confirmed with the term "Mystic Slayer" but only people who have seen other Fate media would've figured it out.
And as usual Aria is being a weirdo
Another hint at Rider's identity is them referring to Abe no Semei as if they knew them personally which gives a timeframe if you know your Japanese history.

If you run out of wood for carving, Boss gives you a couple more to try.
If you run out again, he gives you another couple.
If you run out AGAIN, he lowers the price of the plate anyways out of sheer pity for how much you suck.
....I may or may not have found that out myself on my first playthrough. :,)
I only failed once and he lowered the price when I came back to talk to him.

1:25:40 You can actually hear Cu say "Cu Chulainn's spear" in Japanese. For whatever reason the translation decided to leave that part out.
Fun fact about Sakaki and his duel with Musashi. Like Iori said in the flashback, Musashi was afraid of Sasaki, so when they dueled Musashi positioned himself to have the sun at his back, effectively blinding Sasaki. You can notice this detail in the flashback if you pay attention to the way the shadows of the two warriors are positioned. It's never explicitly stated, but it's a really cool detail that they snuck in there.
That and Musashi has two Oars just to make him mad
I remember Female Musashi in her Summer form says that she defeated a Kojirou with missles.

Also would like to add, Musashi intentionally came late to the duel, to make Kojiro more impatient/irritated, so that he loses focus on the duel, + with the blinding light of the sunset Kojiro lost the duel
And Musashi bonked him with a sword formed from an oar
Cu Chulainn’s Gae Bolg essentially turned ‘Thrust the Spear, therefore the The heart was pierced’, which it could still missed to ‘The Heart was Pierced, therefore the the Spear must have hit’, making it so that the spear could not missed, because the Heart has already been struck.
It's really funny how Aria fundamentally has unsettled and rattled Nico. It kinda makes this playthrough for me, so funny.
Tamamo cat is one of the other Tamamo Nine, and is the Beserker of the Tamamos.... She amongst all the other Tamamos is one who tries to embody the 'diligent wife' sort of persona, or rather, diligent maid. Dressed in a maid outfit with cat paws, she serves others with incredible food and service, though while always spouting some kind of nonsense. While she seems to be capital M mad, she is actually quite sharp, usually figuring out situations far faster than any other servant she is with.
Just... dont think too hard on it because Cat is mad... and chaos incarnate in some senses
Also: Lancer is the one singular servant who has shown up in Pretty much EVERY SINGLE FATE GAME. I honestly cant find a single cannon one that Lancer hasn't showed up inh, so get used to seeing his face if you want to do any of the other games, and most of the media
Does a Tamamo exist for every class? I remember playing fate with berserk cat it was fun forget when but prob back in 2017.
@@themasterofw4295 Tamao's main class is as a Caster. It's what she was in Fate/Extra. Where to save her Master, she chilled fora thousand years, became a full-fledged Divine Fox, and cut off her nine tails.
We've only seen Caster tamamo
Berserker Tammao Cat
and Rider Tamamo Aria.
But there are others who exist like Tamamo Gucci, Tamamo Hime, Tamamo Vitch, Tamamo Deimo. And Included in the Tamamo Nine is Daji a sadistic monsterous fox spirit whobounced around China, India and Japan slipping into power and committing atrocities.
@@littlekuribohimposte weird that you don't say the full name of Tammamo-no-mae as if on purpose but ok.In real life mythology it is believed that Tammamo-no-mae and Daji are the same person but it's a name she called in China but considering her reaction of being called like that by Li Shuen and unique consept of her in Fate series that is different to her real mythology counterpart,it is pretty safe to assume that Daji is eather an entierly different fox spirit to her or she is indeed one of Tammamo nine.......

For some reason they didn't translate Cu Chulainn, when he actually said it in the scene.
So bit of a trivia about Cu Chulainn's spear, Gae Bulg. The spear is made out of a sea monster's bone and have a deadly function that's only activated with a special technique. To use the function, the user have to kick the spear with their toe and lodge it into the victim. Then barbs would violently jut out the spear while inside the victim, very messy
Nico's reactions to Aria have to be the funniest running gag of this LP.
Finally, Nico learns the true terror of Aria.

Sasaki Kojiro in reality died to Musashi. In fact his death was pretty brutal as he was beaten to death with an oar. I guess the game devs really wanted to have Iori be taught by Kojiro and use his style.
To be fair in the Nasuverse, Sasaki Kojiro straight up does not exist for the most part like not even Japanese characters knew who he was when he was summoned

Sadly, as potentially touching as Aria’s questline ending could’ve been, ultimately she’s still an aspect of Tamamo. And Tamamo isn’t really what you’d call….moderate in her desires. Sure, if you’re the target of her affections, she’s just about the best housewife and lover you could ask for. That said, don’t expect any sort of restraint. She’s ultimately a rather inhuman being, one that brought a nation to ruin even if she does regret it. Possessiveness is a core part of her character. She will love you her way because she doesn’t know anything else and it is very difficult to get her to change that.
As for Cu’s Noble Phantasm, the more potent variation is actually the anti-personnel one. Sure, the anti-army thrown variant is more flashy, but there is a lot more going on with the single target one. Firstly, it’s Cu’s Own technique he fashioned after he got Gae Bolg from his teacher Scathach. By ‘Causality reversing curse’ what this means is seriously nuts. Cause and effect means that: something happens such as Cu thrusting his spear (cause) and the result of that being the enemy getting stabbed (effect).
When using his anti-personnel Noble Phantasm though, the order of cause and effect are reversed. So the Effect of Cu’s spear piercing the opponent’s heart is decided and set in stone first and then reality alters to make the cause match the effect. This means that once the words of ‘Gae Bolg’ are spoken by Lancer, the enemy’s heart is pierced and he’s just waiting for reality to catch up to that fact. There is absolutely nothing they can do to change that, the spear will pierce the heart even if it defies every law of common sense to do so. It’s what the NP so ridiculously deadly.
And by the way, Cu did state his name to Iori at the end of his questline. That’s a goof on the translation’s part.

Here a certain inside-joke You will not understand about Aria and Kaya relationship
Kaya voice actress is the same of another Servant called "Beni-Enma"
In Japanese Mythology she is supposed to be a guardian of Hell who has the job to cut down the clothes of the souls who are sent down there, as when judged by King Enma You're not supposed to be wearing clothes (TFS even jokes about it in Dragon Ball Z Abridged)
In Fate she is also noted as a master of cooking
First mentioned in Fate Extella by Tamamo No Mae (the original from which Aria originate from) and finally appear as a character with an Event of her own in FGO
Point is, Tamamo has been an apprentiace of Beni-Enma in cooking
So now Aria who is techniqually Tamamo took lessons once again by who techniqually is Beni-Enma

If you are able to recall, all the way back in Persona 4 Golden (during Marie's Social Link) we learned that combs are often known as a symbol of separation in Japan. If I'm not mistaken, the tale of Yamato Takeru is a great example of this.
However, through this Digression, Yamato makes their own comb and is able to gift it back to their wife, thus recontextualizing the meaning of the comb from a gift of parting to one of exchange and completion.
Fate will sometimes do these with old legends and stories, taking what was once a somber end and giving heroes another chance to complete their stories and accept them with pride in their heart.
Truly, a celebration of life.

So Nico, the thing about the Tamamo Nine is that the one key trait they all share is the longing of companionship and love.
Sometimes it can get worse than Aria's.
So, about the Waxing Moon's vessel.
The Christian Shimabara rebellion (the one Chiemon fought in) was lead by a teenage boy named Amakusa Shirou Tokisada. In Fate, he is a Heroic Spirit (obviously) and a pseudo-saint who had the power to cause miracles by channing magecraft through his arms.
It is implied that the Waxing Moon vessel is made from his miraculous hands after he was executed.
That explains a lot. They don't say anything about that in the logs, do they? There's a lot of stuff about the backstory to this game that I'm sure has explanations but I couldn't find them.

So, since you got through Aria's digressions, lets talk about her! She is a form of Tamamo-no-Mae, one of the Three Great Demons of Japan. A Nine-tailed fox who seduced the Emperor of her time and was causing havoc all across Japan. She was even slowly killing the Emperor, poisoning and cursing him so she could take over everything. It was only thanks to a wandering onmyoji by the name of Abe no Seimei who reveled her one day in court. She was chased out and eventually killed, her spirit possessing a stone that would kill anyone who got near it. She was a heartless and vain fox that would do anything for what she wanted. Not only that, as all Yokai, they had a tendency to eat people when they were feeling particularly cruel or hungry. So when you were wondering if Aria actually wanted to rip out Iori's heart...
Well, she probably would have and ate it as well. Thank goodness this is Fate Tamamo, who was only blamed for everything she was accused of. Still a bit of a yandere though.
Well thing is that Fate series is not completely dismissess all of what Tammamo-no-mae was in the real life mythology but instead project's it onto her "original" counterpart whitch is Amaterasu who is a nine tailed fox incarnate and character wise exactly how you described Tammamo-no-mae to be.
Fun fact about Jail bait the high: Remember Tamamo no Mae? That evil fox lady I talk about a few episode ago? Remember when I say she has the nine tail that grow into personality? Aria and Cat are one of those. Aria is Tamamo “alluring” self and Cat is her chief self.
To be expected of a very Japanese game, there's a lot of words that are lost in translation in this game. It may not be much but can make you miss things. Like for example in this episode, Cu did say his name there but they didn't include it there for some reason. Also when Saber said "You're the best, Iori", in Japanese they actually said *suki dazo, Iori* meaning "I like you, Iori". The word suki commonly used to confess your love so it may sounds weird especially when a married dude said that to you xD.
But again that might just be a way to show how intimate their relationship now compared to the very beginning.
1:27:09 - Celtic names are hard but Fate makes me learn them, so an easy way to say it is "Coo Hoolan". You'll see a lot of Celtic names in Fate, some of which I look at and go "No I don't want to say this" but I have to. Like Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. Yeah try saying that in blind-read dialogue. Have fun.

1:17:50 "Who's Cat?" - Tamamo Aria is one of the Tamamo Nine. Another one is Tamamo Cat. She's a Berserker. She looks like the regular base Tamamo (basically an adult Aria) but wears a red kimono, and has giant cat paws and cat feet. Despite this, she woofs. She's uh, kind of really really really really stupid BUT she's a good chef.
In my FGO Let's Play I voice her like Snagglepuss because fr she's THAT stupid. Most of her dialogue is nonsensical.
We still don't know the other half of the Tamamo Nine. We have their names but nothing else. Still waiting to see if Tamamo Gucci is for real Gucci.
Really but fates been going on for so damn long :) are they just gonna make a Tamamo game and call it done :) .
@@themasterofw4295 they've been putting one Tamamo into each game for a while now. Extra has one, FGO Part 1 has one, FGO Part 2 has one, and now Samurai Remnant. Jne day we'll have all nine. Not today.

The thing about Achilles is that he isn't immediately recognizable. There's not much about Achilles that you could point to and go "That's Achilles" unlike Samson. So Achilles being summoned wouldn't be as obvious as Samson was.

@@raymondyongho5757 that's a good question........i could told you how Ushi Gozen could be a berserker but unfortunately i have zero clue of why they decited to put her into this class.....(they kinda explained that she does not restrain herself thus she's super impulsive but i do not like the explanation) i guess considering that she was summoned not solely by waxing moon's power but on her own as well some limitation's is not applied to her like not having memories of her previous summoning's and being controlled by Tsuchimikados spell's like other's.And maybe she was supposed to be like Samson in terms of madness enchancement stripping away her sense of reason but she was freed of this limitation as well.She's kinda the walking anomaly to be honest.......she's still retains her saber class skill's and Dayu called her "Berserker-not-Saber" whitch kinda add's to weirdness.......the only other case we saw like this is with Alchides who is presumably the fusion between Archer and Avenger classes but the grail still considers him to be just Archer so maybe Musashi is also the fusion between two classes who knows....🤷♂

Watching Nico slowly losing his sanity over Aria is never not hilarious
So Nico recognizes Lancer's name. I always find it interesting how many people recognize in mythological things like the Garuda or Balmung/Nothung or Arondight from video games and anime that use them or similar names to signify powerful summons or equipment.
Just gonna say this to satisfy my Fate fan nitpicking (my apologies), it's pronounced. Cu - Cu - lane (H is silent).
That aside, the Tamamo's can definitely give off Yandere vibes, but ultimately are genuine in their love. Of course it's still funny to see Nico overreact either way.
IIRC, the second "Cu" 's C sound isn't even enunciated in proper Celtic, it's slurred to be a soft sound. Like, It's not "CU CU lane, it's CU-hu-lan" more like. It's like a half sound.

@@colt1903 Irish here, we don't agree on the name like at all ourselves. Cu-cu-lane is a valid one tho, since it's what I was thought in school. But a major issue with Cu is he got REALLY popular after english was introduced as like a bastion of Ireland and a piece of culture that a lot of people passed around so I wouldn't be surprised if his name has just been bastardised to such a point we'll never actually know.

There was something in the last video I wanted to talk about but I don't really know if the game is going to end up explaining it here down the line so I'm saving that for when we are closer to the end of the game.
Instead, let's talk about Independent Action!
It's established that if a Servant dies, the Master doesn't die because they are just summons. However if a Master dies, there's no more mana to keep the Servant going and that results in their *eventual* disappearance. Servants can still roam and try to find a Master before they disappear, like what Caster did. (at this point, they are called Rogues, which is again also used to describe Masterless Servants)
So what is Independent Action? Well, Independent Action is a skill that is present on some Servants (it is mainly a class skill of any Archer Servants because most of the heroes summoned in this class can go off on their own without much issues or need for backup. Heroes from other classes can have this skill.) If they have this, that means they can go on for even longer without mana being supplied to them! At higher rank, they can literally function normally without a contract binding them to a Master but they *will* need them if they want to pull out all the stops. The leylines can only give you so much if you are not at the heart of it. There is a downside however. Those with IA tend to go off on their own and has a likely chance of just doing their own thing that is somewhat still aligned with the Master's wishes and goals, and in dire examples, they might even need to use a Command Spell.
Servants can feed off of human souls, not blood. It's a whole plot point in the original. Which isn't as gross, but maybe even more horrifying. You get to see what happens after someone's soul has been used for fuel and it's...not pretty.
They can on blood too tho,it's just that the difference of magical energy they recieve from consuming blood and a soul is incomprehensible and blood would not do any good for a mesterless servant.
By the way, the “Cat” that Tamamo Aria mentioned is referring to Tamamo Cat, one of the other Tamamo nine of the Nine tail fox. She’s…. Weird too, she cooks and she sleeps, a lot.

Since English sometimes lacks the complexities of other languages, the word of "I love you" is too vague when it comes to translating it in Japanese. So one teacher back in the Meiji period thought a more poetic translation would be "The moon is beautiful today, isn't it?"
While Aria never says it outloud, and Iori does have a lot of parallels with the Moon as Aria described, I believe she's also using it as a way to proclaim her love (closer to admiration than actual cherishment)

Aria is referencing one of the Tamamo Tails, known as Tamamo Cat (usually abbreviated as Cat) she's an excellent cook and the most down to earth Tamamo (despite being a Berserker that's kinda insane?)

Aria is one of my favorite characters in this game because I can kinda understand her on some level, her design is also fuckin' adorbs as all Hell and is one of my aesthetics. I also loved Samson so much, my top three are: Aria, Saber and Samson tied for first, for second Cu Chulanne and third would be Musashi.
Interesting thing about the Grail's wishes, the Master goes first then the Servant so theoretically if the Master's a real piece of work and saves 2 command seals they could use a command seal to steal their Servant's wish then use the other command seal to send them back to the afterlife and bam 2 wishes.
Tho to my knowing well the idea's been brought up no one's ever actually done it.
So to explain a bit how Gae Bolg works. It reverses cause and effect, what that means is essentially this. If the effect is Lancer piercing the opponents heart with his spear, then by reversing it that becomes the first step, so the cause will do everything it can to bring that about, creating a homing attack that aims directly at your opponents heart and is very difficult to miss without incredible luck. That is the power of the Hero Cu Chulainn

About Cu Chulain, you have seen him in Persona series but under his original name Setanta. He earned the name cu Chulain after killing culanns guard dog and being a stand in until a replacement was found hence the name hound of Culann.
Also it's ironic that his final move is to throw a spear, because incidentally that's how he died (spear through the heart). He even died standing up, just like Whitebeard.
Cu Chulain was also a separate persona. They had both.
Not the way I expected a final boss episode to be named.

The Tamamo Nine aren't...stable, let's say. Not even the first Tamamo seen in the franchise, Tamamo-no-Mae, is stable. She's very determined as a Caster housewife...thing. The "Cat" Aria refers to is Tamamo Cat, another member of the Nine, of the Berserker class.
The Rogue Lancer is indeed a Fate series favorite, Cu Chulainn. Basically Irish Hercules, but with a one-hit kill spear. He also had a kickass sword called Cruaidin. A Celtic warrior so metal that he held himself up with his insides on a rock to make his enemies believe he was alive, wasting their own time watching him from afar.

So, as far as Rogue Lancer's Noble Phantasm goes, its actually REALLY watered down for this game. The way it normally works in other Fate titles is by reversing cause-and-effect. So, normally, the way logic goes is 'I thrust my spear' and the effect is 'I pierce my enemy's heart and they die'. Under the effect of his Noble Phantasm, this order is reversed. So it goes 'Cause: My enemy's heart is pierced by my spear and they die' and 'Effect: I thrust my spear'. So, by thrusting his spear, the 'Effect' has happened. Thus, by the reversed logic, the 'Cause' must have happened already. This results in a reality-warping attack that cannot be dodged by any means and cannot be blocked by any defense. If Cu Chulainn uses this, it is guaranteed to kill his enemy. On top of this, the spear inflicts a curse that prevents the wound from being healed and is considered to be fairly cheap to use in terms of expended magical energy to activate.
So, as much as the duel against Cu here is supposed to be a 'serious' duel, Cu Chulainn actually held back quite a bit by not pulling out his instant win move.

Cú Chulainn (KOO KULL-lin) the original Lancer in Fate Stay Night and even in the Prototype version. Hero of Ireland’s Ulster Cycle.
He’s essentially almost the Achilles of Ireland with only Fionn mac Cumhaill (Finn McCool, no really) the King Arthur equivalent only being more famous, despite how Fate Grand Order treats him.
Ireland’s Child of Light and the Hound of Ulster, son of the Sun god Lugh and yes in Persona both as his adult self and his child self Sétanta.
He lived a short and wild life as a warrior.
I will repeat what a friend who’s an expert said that Fate over exaggerates his use of Gae Bolg as he’s better as a Saber or a Rider. As in his proper myth he used it 3 times, first for training, second to kill his best friend, last time to kill his son. Those were horrible circumstances his actions lead to.
He’s the Original Lancer of Fate Stay Night and has started the tradition of the first Servant fight involving a Lancer.
He’s very aquatinted with Gilgamesh other than hating him on principle they fought each other for 12 hours straight no breaks in one game. Cú lost but his speed and tenacity were respectable.
Yes being part of the original Cast him and Gilgamesh always appear together in some form, even in Fate Extra where everything is different.
Carnival Phantasm a parody of all of Type Moon’s works has Cu be the Kenny equivalent as he dies once an episode.
Fate Grand Order he’s a easy budget survivalist, hardest to kill due due his skill set.
The same game also introduced variants of his from across his life.
His Prototype version also a Lancer from that was reimagined as his teenage self.
A Caster who’s a Druid and specifically impossible to exist, it turns out to be plot important.
His child self Sétanta a Saber when he started his adventure. He changed his name after accidentally killing a guard dog, which yes his name mean Hound of Chulann, hence why people call him dog.
And his Alter… Alters are complicated but they are a betrayal of one’s life. His Alter a Berserker was created by his enemy Queen Medb who wanted him as her ideal lover and King, something he adamantly refused in life which lead to his epic last stand death just to defy her. He’s strangely accurate to the myths of Cu being some massive monster, but he is a joyless killing machine who has no honor, but does submit to anyone who defeats him.
Fans for years wanted his Berserker form which has his nightmarish ability warp spasm, but Cu Alter warns about how dangerous a proper Berserker form of him would be. Last time Cu used warp spasm he
killed 1/3 of everyone in Ireland.
Likewise other people in his life were imported. Nasu’s favorite Queen Medb a Rider (she rides men) and as a Saber for Summer, her favorite lover and Cu’s uncle Fergus a Saber, and the breakout character his teacher Scáthach a Lancer who uses multiple Gae Bolg’s she also has a Summer Assassin form and a Caster form that’s fused with the Norse Goddess Skadi who gets a Summer Ruler form.
Aria is so sweet~ A great addition to the Tamamo Nine~ Very deserving of all the headpats and ear fluffs.

SO Cu Chulainn right. He has a bunch of different pronunciations for his name but the one I think most people know is "Coo Cull-lane", is a hero from Irish myth and legend. As described by one of my favorite abridges he's "Irish Heracles". He was a powerful warrior destined for greatness but an early grave. He had many adventures and earned a reputation as one of the strongest warriors in all of the land. He even met and was trained by several other heroes or notable figures at the time, including a warrior queen who made his spear, the Gae Bolg. Hell, he fought an entire army over the span of days to weeks but challenging them to single combat
What's really interesting is his name though. Cu Chulainn roughly translates too "Hound of Chulainn" or "Chulainn's Hound". He got it after being invited to a party by his mentor at the time, but his mentor forgot to mention it to the guy who was hosting it. The man in question, Chullainn, had this massive, monstrous hound no one was willing to go against, not even Cu, or at the time, Setanta's mentor. So, what ended up happening is that at teh age of 12, on his own, with his bare hands, SLAUGHTERED this borderline hell hound that attacked him. However, When Setanta learned that it was someone's hound and specifically their guard dog, he offered to be his guard dog until he found a replacement. Thus earning him the new moniker Cu Chulainn, which just kinda stuck with him. Eventually he died after being tricked, but tied himself to a stone and stood his ground even in death. Legends say he cut the hand of the commander who tried to confirm he was dead even after he passed.
He's an absolute mad lad both in and out of Fate and is an incredibly fun and interesting character. It's a shame he gets fucked over in basically everything he's in

If you wonder why I call Tamamo a god?
In real myth she's 9 tail which is represented as the HIGHEST fox god. It's just this Tamamo happens to be the great 3 evil representing Lust.
In Fate version they using the "god side" and make Tamamo also Amaterasu the highest god in Japan in the same rank as Odin, Zeus or any supreme god.
But unfortunately, it's only possible for MAIN body Tamamo. Aria have only 1/9 of original's power... So, she's too weak for anything...
If anything, the real Tamamo would just nuke everything even Samson, should you have enough Mana to "supply her supreme god form"
