You can't change the past, and you can't make it up to someone. Sometimes all you can do is pray that person heal, and move on with your life. You can't force someone to forgive you. That is on them. That bitterness and anger will destroy them in the long run if they let it. Plus that mindset can destroy other relationships that you try to develop.
It may be hard to forgive and forget, but sometimes, it's the best and healthiest thing.
You can't change who you are, but you can change what you have in your head, you can refresh what you're thinking about, you can put some fresh air in your brain. Mother's are special indeed.

So she never knew what her mom was going through My parents were the same my dad always used to ignore me, come home late, don't make time for us, my mom always used to judge me by my mistakes, background and negativity, she used to create toxic between our family but I never hated them because I know them I understand them I know what they are but in the video the girl never knew her mom never understood her never knew the reason why she drank too much

I find that if I forgive someone ..and I saw them again I would remember everything terrible that he or she has done to me plus I would get really depressed
forgiving someone before your heart is ready is unhealthy. Sometimes we can't forgive people but, society tells us to forgive others no matter what. But that's unhealthy, you can't force yourself to give others forgiveness before your heart is ready. Sometimes you can't forgive and forget someone for what they've done, what's important is to focus on creating an better future for yourself and not obsess on the past. This was beautiful Jay! So emotional because I’ don’t have a good relationship with my oldest daughter and she just told me the other dat that I couldn’t see my grandkid in the future! I’ve been heart broken and I’m trying my best to have her forgive me for blaming me for divorce but she won’t even hear me out she only knows one side of the story I don’t get a change to tell her my side of the story! So this was very helpful and God knows that’ I’ve forgiven her I just need her to hear me out! 😟💕

It is good that she forgave her in the long run. That is all that matters. No need to beat her up. Some people NEVER forgive people, and always act like everyone is out to get them. I have been around toxic and dysfunctional people all of my life, most of them refuse to change. So, you have to let them go, move forward, and focus on your healing/journey in Jesus name.

Her mother was a good mother but not perfect. Think about the good they've done for you and not the wrong they've done to themselves. Find out why they have the addiction and help from there.
Sometimes, they don't deserve forgiveness.

The Music makes me Sad. Makes me wanna spend more time with my Parents. We all use to live in the same town from my Birth in 87 to 2011 but i moved along now to 600 Miles away and only go back to visit twice a Year. Or they come to see me. I went to Xmas 2021 and i wanna go back Easter time to make up some more time.
Kinda reminds me of my sister. My mom stepdad and I haven’t spoke to her in 4 years . Since my mom told us she had breast cancer . Stage 2 . She beat it but my sister still hasn’t come back around . I got to the point where I don’t care anymore

It's a lot easier to forgive if the other person sincerely apologizes (like in this video). When they have no remorse it's almost impossible to do so.
That person have to see that they have an issue themselves, and want to change. Otherwise they will not be able to recover. They simply can't change just because you want them to.
People lost their compassion… kids need to manifest an empathy for their old parents and forgive them. They had a hard times… Love will treat. Compassion, Forgiveness & Love the only way ❤️ Forgive your parents. They did their best they could do at that time.

I have always forgiven my parents the same they did for me. As a human being, we make mistakes and we see people make mistakes, but what’s important is that we learn from that and grow from it. The only people I will never forgive for their actions is Yolanda Saldivar, Crimo, Salvador, Cruz, Hitler, Putin, Donald Trump, and even John Wilkes Booth. Their actions have cost the lives of millions. What she did , killing Selena, was unforgivable, and Trump, he doesn’t deserve to be re-elected as President because what he did pup America and around the world in jeopardy!
I have a great friend thst went thru this. She used drugs and drink like a fish. It took 8 yrs in prison to sobre up and not knowing her grand-children. She lost both of her son's. One went to prison for 40 yrs and the other is addicted to drugs. Her only daughter didn't talk to her and kept her grand-daughters away from her. All her kids were very angry b/c She was not their (with them) while they were growing up. After prison it took awhile but not she's in touch with her children and meet all her grandchildren. On holidays her daughter and grand-daughterscome over and keeps intouch with her boys; even if it's vía phone.

Jay, how many times do I have to forgive the same person when they keep bring up the past and accuse you of things that you never did? And spread lies about you constantly? This person is my ex-sister-in-law. My brother passed away 2yrs ago and I still have contact with my only nieces but barely. She lies to them about me but they are old enough to know the difference. The oldest is 16 and can't wait to be with me and so is the youngest. I want to move but can't because of them. Please advise.

I get what your saying. This has been going on for over 20 yrs. I forgive her, given the olive branch several times but she breaks it and spits in my face over and over. The girls do get to talk to me but sometimes in secret or when she feels like it's OK. It's a vicious cycle.

I love them as if they are my daughters. They know this as well as wish at times that I was their mom. As for her I'm so tired of the lies and stuff that I just want to leave and live my life in peace.

You should never not forgive the ones who mistreated you. It’s never ok to tell someone they are bad, evil, or a devil just because they did something bad to you or in general. You would be the devil for not finding it in your heart to forgive the angle soul made by Jesus for what he or she did just on Earth. Always remember that.
Can someone give me advice on what to do? When u can't spend time with her cause everytime she sees your face, it's always "go do that or go does this". I can't sit next to her for 15mins. She'd make me do thousands of things. Or she'd ask me for my things. That's why I run away from being with her, i feel bad but it's not my fault i feel hurt. I'm tired of this. It is hurtful, she don't compare me but I can't spend time properly with her at all. I also have made up my mind to leave, I'm turning 20 this year and I know i have to go. I've also accepted thats how she is to😔 cause if you tell them how you feel,they would get hurt or offended or think your rude. Maybe the best thing to do is try our best and plan so we can go on our own, nothing will ever be enough

Maybe you should show this to Oprah and Meghan and Harry who so publically put down their parents without forgiveness. Pick up the phone communicate. Our parents are not perfect. This is how genetic pain us removed by communication. It just takes a coffee or tea call or visit and talk about it. These steps is what is required for healing. Its about growth. Actions are what is required. So next time you tell Oprah that instead of making money from no forgiveness
