  • Daylilies are reliable and easy-to-grow cottage garden staples. At this time of year, they can also provide a wonderful architectural element to a border as the fresh leaves emerge.
March is also a good opportunity to move and divide established clumps or buy new varieties for the garden as the young plants will show their size and vigor, even in pots.
In this video, we show clump division and planting out split clumps of divided daylily.

I grow mine in pots and once you keep them watered and fertilised they will grow well. I feed mine with tomato food once a week.

Beautiful lillies. How often do you water them. I live in the southwest US. And it’s very hot, 100 degrees in the summer.

You can keep them flowering all summer if you dead head them every couple of days. I've been a bit slow this year so mine have stopped flowering. I'm going to try giving them a liquid seaweed feed now I've finally got round to deadheading them to see if i can get them back into flower as they are looking quite depleted.
