For me, there are a few characters I will never get bored of. Wriothesley and Heizou cuz I love their unique attack style. Ayato bc his elemental attack is so satisfying. And Xiao bc I enjoy going between the quick dash attack and destroying enemies with the plunging attacks. ☺✨
Personally speaking, I get Neuvillette at his first banner and I still enjoy playing him. He is my best character on my account, and I still use him. It’s not like the first days when I was SOOOOOOOO hyped on him, but still i love his gameplay, his design and mostly his story.
Hmm let's think a little, by the hype of everyone wanted him home wasn't from that he's sick, broken , mf looks handsome etc etc. from the hype I meant of what people like you and me felt for neuv,when we did that quest, like that feeling was different right. Yes people with passion pulled him cuz of that, and felt very great playing with him in game ,due to that freaking peak quest lore. My point is ,that is GONE. You very repetitive played him so much that his voicelines, attacks is not exiting now, compared to earlier days. His value definelty gone down, and people still love him, but that earlier feeling is gone now.

well it worked the opposite for me I never really cared for neuvillette nor arlecchino but I got neuvillette while getting fischl and got arle bec I pulled for their weapon instead of lyney's But they grew on me over time especially neuvillette I believe like if you have a great roster of chracters you wouldn't get bored from his gameplay bec you change from time to time

I don't know it's a strange logic for me.If you have multiple characters you like , you can change team sometimes to feel fresh (probably), and with new release of characters it's easy to do. For example i have Cat and i probably going to love him until death (that's can be 10+ years).

Ganyu was my first 5* and I've used her regularly for the past 2 and half years. I jokingly thought "poor cocogoat has been more over-deployed than US troops were in Afghanistan." Part of the reason is because I didn't build a second strong Cryo unit. I think the way Genshin is meant to be played, as designed by the devs, is to build multiple characters of each role--DPS, sub-DPS, healer, buffer, shielder, other supports, etc. Also to build some characters for each element for coverage. Think you are supposed to alternate between characters of whatever role or element type of your favorite character(s) to avoid "over-deployment".

From Mondstadt i got only Venti From Leyue - Zhongli and Cocogoat From inazuma - Raiden and Ayaka. From Sumeru - nobody (did not accept new element) From Fontain - only Novilet. That's all my 5 star limited characters. And most of them are vertically invested. This is also a way to play Genshin. But ofc i feel great difficulty in abyss sometimes because of lack of variety. But nobody gonna pull for characters they dislike for the sake of abyss only. Right?
