Pepper had so much fun filming with y'all! Now, she'll do a stand with just a hand gesture from me, and will even lie down without a lure. Love you guys! :) For anyone that's curious, we recently found out Pepper is a Chihuahua/Dachshund/Poodle mix, haha.

I have a Shiba Inu prepare for a TON of shedding and insane amount of stubbornness. This will be a big test of patience for you but if you’re prepared for both of those qualities then you’ll do just fine. They will attract attention everywhere you go. Regrettably their not the most affectionate dogs but are super loyal and super smart once you learn how to break through their hard headedness

This was teaching my small dog to lie down looked like. He did not want to do it! I did not have this video then though. I also found it helpful to train him on a large dog bed, something he is use to lying down on. From there he progressed more easily to lying down on the hard floor.

You probably won’t see this but, I have a dog ( chiweenie) and her name is Chloe . I’ve taught her many tricks like hug, sit, lay down, dance, bang, shake, stand on hind legs but sitting (If u know what I mean) ,army crawls ,hide and seek, jump, and wave. I learned some of her tricks from you. So keep up the good work!😜😁

  • @ambermedina9623

I had such a hard time teaching my pomchi lie down. He didn’t have to lie down to get to the lure so he just bent down. We tried luring him under a leg tunnel too, and didn’t see much indication that he was getting it. We rewarded him whenever he lied down on his own and reinforced it with a command. It was his biggest training hurdle but one day it just snapped into focus for him and now he flops down enthusiastically. Patience is key, because even if you don’t think they’re learning, they are. It was a weirdly very proud day for me lol

Ya the one trick I could teach, she does stand, spin, sit and shake! What do you recommend doing when dogs don’t obey without a treat? How about when they do the trick before you command it?

OMG she looks so much like my Chihuahua girl. Mine has white markings, straight ears, and a bit more curled tail than Pepper though. I taught my girl the basics within a few days of getting her at 10 weeks old. She took a while to stop having accidents at night (because I kept her in a pen instead of a crate), but she had a decent handle on it during the day after a week (this was before I watched your videos). Little dogs are a lot smarter and willing than most people think.
She's also never jumped on people when they entered the house, and has never been a yapper. She never did any damage to the house, but she did destroy her bed once, and stole paper when ignored as a puppy. She also howled at the start (during the day, not just on her first nights sleeping alone), but once she realized she was ignored whenever she howled and picked up when she didn't, she stopped real quick. Since she's turned 1 years old (she's now almost 3) she's been very behaved and sleeps the whole time I'm out for my college classes (usually 2-5 hours). She just wants to cuddle all day with a few minutes of fetch here and there. Biggest sweetheart of a dog I've ever had and known. So gentle. And adores kids.

I’ve only had previous experience with large breeds, but now having a little dude (who looks eerily similar to this girl you’re working with) it’s almost like having a different species of animal altogether 😂 I don’t understand how you’re saying it’s no different?!? I am finding it SO different. I find he is far quicker with learning and retaining information, but because he’s so smart he’s also a little tricky. Far more resourceful than my big dogs were and tries to get around listening sometimes too. But always responds to gentle correction and gets back on track. He’s also more nippy and mouthy, he is a puppy and as he matures the nipping is becoming less. But I’m learning that a lot of his mouthiness is purposeful. He’s led my hand to a toy to play or mouths when he wants me to culled him on the couch. But one thing that’s been impressive is that he gets extra nippy whenever he needs to go out, alerting me instead of having accidents. I’m learning his cues, and man am I finding him much quicker on the uptake that any large dog I’ve had. Not sure of it’s my back of knowledge gained from experience or that my big dogs were just more dopey, or pushy and slower to submit to behavior modification 😂 This guy, if I didn’t know understand dog behavior and body language and how to train a dog, would probably run rings around me 🤣

Sometimes if she doesn’t feel like it, she won’t even care about the cheese. She won’t stop submissive urinating sporadically, and she hates the leash.

I think I have the same dog mine is a gold meagle, minpin-beagle mix even has the slight black hair on the back though her chest is white yours looks like a purebred minpin I think it's smaller than mine without the beagle. Anyway on my FIRST TRY I put it down between her paws slightly to the side and Sunny went down as I said down by the time she was down I couldn't believe how perfect that first try went! Second and third time I gave her a treat she only kneeled down a bit. 4th time she went down AGAIN I gave her 2 treats. 5th time got too excited did not go down and I finally remove the treat, 6th time AGAIN she went down!!! I'm doing this over and over like 10 times now and she's went down I'm losing count now. This actually motivates me to train my dog more as I've tried various Ceasar tricks in the past and could not get my dog to do anything... down she does I don't know why but I'm going to try paw again now too thank you.
edit: Just saw that the breeds are in the top comment, not the description. I would have never guessed poodle was in the mix of breeds but chihuahua & dachshund I can see it's still cute AF.

My dog was lying on a blanket on the couch. I flipped him on his back and said roll over, then flipped him back over and said lye down. Then without touching him I said roll over, and he rolled on his back. I gave him a nice treat for that.

I'm new to training dogs but if you keep rewarding your dog, for how long will he listen after you stop giving him treats ?

Zak, for a 2.6 energy level Japanese Spitz, can I go cycling with him being able to keep up?
P.S. Keep up the good work.

Hi zak, my parents (I don’t live with them) have a rotwheeler/ German shepherd he is a beautiful dog and 4 years old this year however he is so aggressive and very disobedient, and because of this my parents think it’s a good idea to have him locked up in a kennel 24/7. I’m not a big fan if this I went to train him and have him run free but he always tries to run away and he gets very aggressive towards strangers. Any tips/ tricks on how and when into train him? Thanks
