  • Use Clean Air Duct Treatment to chemically neutralize odors in your car, truck or suv. Clean Air™ is a unique three-phase formula that first travels throughout the air conditioning/ heat system, cleaning all components including the evaporator, drain pan, ductwork, and vents. Second; Clean Air™ chemically neutralizes odors that build up in the system. Third; Clean Air™ leaves behind a barrier of protection that remains within the air conditioning/ heat system and prevents the formation of new odors by resisting bacteria, mold, algae, and mildew and discouraging their growth.

    Chemical neutralization works fine as long as enough product gets into the system. For those of you that are "vehicle challenged" or don't seem to understand the AC system, all components will get a product inside or rather on it, as long as the air is treated appropriately. That is how the cooling system works. If you want the fresh air vent and the re-circulation to BOTH be treated, you need to spray in both sets of vents, and turn the vent knob to each corresponding vent you are treating. Fresh Air vent knob/button on, while spraying in the Fresh Air vent. Re-circulation knob/button on, while spraying inside the cabin vents. Having said that, I agree with most of the individuals on here about the cabin filter. If you don't replace that first, you are wasting your time and money. That's years of auto body shop management talking.

      Very true. I watched several different how-to videos and not a single one gets it exactly right. To clarify - Step one: Remove Cabin Air Filter. Step two: Exactly as shown in first part of this video. Step three: Change AC to Fresh Air Mode and shoot some spray into the FAN located under the filter you already removed (not shown in this video). And of course spray into the external air intake as displayed in video. As a final step some people turn the HEAT on full blast and spray some more through the outside. When you're all done put your NEW cabin filter in correctly and enjoy the fresh air!

    BEFORE YOU GO OUTSIDE TO SPRAY THE OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE VENTS Bring a spare key if you're vehicle automatically locks after the ignition is turned on! Or else you'll be paying to get it unlocked :)

    • @GymChess
      @GymChess 8 років тому

      Paying? Praying perhaps... I cleaned my AC this summer although the procedure was different. With the engine running, I just set the AC on cold air, recycle mode, opened a can and let it spray out all its contents inside the car with the doors closed, well almost closed... Since I didn't have a spare key with me I left a backdoor slightly open in case the doors would lock. After 5-10 minutes I shut everything off. It smelled perfume for about 2 weeks.

    • @gordbaker896
      @gordbaker896 8 років тому +4

      The evaporator is a sealed pressurized unit. You cannot spray into it.It is the Interior of the car that needs cleaning. Not the outside air.

    • @NT9K
      @NT9K 7 років тому +2

      Any type of cleaner gets sprayed on to the evaporator coil/fins where the air passes through to get conditioned. Why would you assume he meant spraying cleaner directly into the refrigerant circuit wtf
      Anyways, the best way to get rid of ANY odor 100% in a car is a combination of cleaning and an ozone generator.

    • @NT9K
      @NT9K 7 років тому +1

      wrong as hell man...Ozone is going to do crap except take odors away assuming you aren't brain dead and only leave it for 1-4 hours max and let the vehicle air out afterwards.
      You can't "flood" the box the evaporator like you're suggesting. Anything you spray through the drain is going to either come back out through the drain or come out of the return/supply. Any significant dirt that is trapped on the coil will need direct water pressure and/or agitation, which of course would require removing or at least accessing it. You talking about cleaning it 90% like you've actually inspected the coil afterwards lol...
      A full deep clean of the interior and ozone as a last resort is all you need, like I said.
