Reading all the comments makes me regret time not well spent. In my younger years I thought I was doing the right thing by working long hard hours to support my family. It is true....our fondest memories are of time spent outdoors together. Those times were just too few and far between. The extra money made then means nothing now.....you and Jack are making wonderful memories that no amount of money can buy.
I love this video! Beautiful weather. Beautiful location. Plenty of fish. Equals plenty of beautiful memories for you both. You are blessed, Wranglerstar.
Your words a truly so right. We fathers tend to get so focused on being providers for our families that we forget that being fathers is spending quality time with our kids. Thanks for reminding me.
Lots of great memories coming back for me watching this, used to go fishing at my uncle's cabin all the time. Now living in downtown Tokyo fishing is not happening much. Great video!
Wranglerstar- Thank you for this video. It has reminded me of so many adventures that I have had in the past years. Starbucks Via coffee FTW! I recently moved to a new part of the country and haven't truly wanted to explore it until now. This video has definitely inspired me to get out and explore this new place, go fishing, and backpacking mornings with some Via coffee. Seriously thank you for posting this.
Cody, I know you have heard it a good many number of times, but I again want to say that you are a good dad to Jack. You are making irreplaceable memories for jack to call back in this thoughts. You are teaching him how to be a good dad to his future children, your grand children. It's hard to believe that you are even now investing in you grand kids lives. A new Generation learns from generations past, just as you did from your grandfather. Keep up the great work Cody.
Thank you for an enchanting video. I have few memories of the short time that I had with my father before he passed. But the best are when we went fishing and camping, even if I did stretch his patience by falling in where ever we went. Thank you Sir.
You couldn't be more right about taking your kids fishing, my dad passed away when I was 14 but my greatest memories are of fishing trips, just me and Dad, even though we only went a few times. I really enjoy watching these videos. You have really gotten me interested in being self sufficient. Kudos, I'll keep watching if you keep making videos. Take care.
I want to live there, but Maine will have to do for me. Loved this one so much!! I never went camping as a kid, but I always wished we had, you are so right about taking your kids camping. God Bless! Keep up the good work.
You are SO right! My son's favorite memory was an overnight camping/canoe trip. We didn't fish but paddled 20 miles and tent camped on a sand bar. We had a fire, boiled water for our freeze dried meals and had the time of our lives.
I love your videos. You are truly an example of a Godly father & your wife is an excellent example of the Proverbs 31 wife. Your son is so cute & sweet. He is blessed & following in an excellent example of a man of God.
I love this video. We have a trip planned for the weak before and during the Fourth of July. People say that it is hard to find time sometimes but I think that it is not hard to plan, why take a vacation every year to someplace where you hardly see your family. I took my oldest boy camping last year just him and I and it was rough for him since he had never done anything like camping before. This year the whole family is going and the adventures we have are going to last us a lifetime. Thank you for sharing your time with us. I hope you have inspired people to stop and make a few memories with their children God bless you sir
brought back so many memories of my dad and me trout fishing. He always used a red rooster tail lure. Cool seeing you using the orange version. Great video.
Such a great video, I couldn't agree more about getting out into nature and fishing with the kids, cant wait till mine are little older. This was one of my favorite videos.
What a great video, my dad and I went fishing on Saturday. It was great, and can't wait to see the wild land fire gear video I love the gear. I have a pair of whites smokejumpers myself! Best boots I've ever owned, but it's too hot for them right now. I even managed to find the time to make a handle for my great grandfathers pickaroon. It was a great project, well until next time! Thank you Cody
Its been to long since i was last fishing. A few years anyways. It'll be nice when my boy is old enough to take him adventuring but until then a day or two car camping will have to suffice. Nice video wranglerstar, always fun seeing people get out and take a breath.
I myself could not go camping enough with my son. We went camping at least two times a summer and most years most summer weekends. He graduated a few weeks ago and now he has two jobs do not know if we can make a trip this year and is hard for me to think that we will not get to go like we used to. I would agree with you every parent needs to take the children camping, fishing, hiking ect. I have so many wonderful memories and I am sure he does as well. Thanks for the great video and hope Jack and yourself had a great time.
Looks like an awesome place you have found there. I am taking my girls camping this coming weekend. My oldest talks about our annual trip all year long!
It is great to see the fun time you guys had out together. I always get great comments from people when we just take them out for a day of what we can "Dirt Time". Any time you can leave the city behind and get your feet in the dirt is a good time.
Thank you for giving us some old time good clean fun for the family. It's so rare today for this type of video. Lets hope the government doesn't start charging us to use these areas for this type of bonding!
I will echo your comment at the end about blocking out a weekend for a camping trip with the kids. It's the best way I've found to reset from the busy pace of life & build great memories. Lots of life lessons out there too and good to see the kids tackling challenges. Looked like a great trip in a picturesque spot.
Fantastic Video. This is one of my new favorites. It's very beautiful up there. Yesterday I tried to go fishing, but when I got to the lake I felt some of the strongest winds I've ever experienced. Also, that is the proper and only way to cook trout while camping. Thanks!
Been fly fishing this year, bought a set up last year and have caught a few wild brown trouts on dry flies and perch on weighted wet flies, it's a lot of fun.
Awesome video. Beautiful place! I'm jealous of how easy it is for you to get out and enjoy a place like that. Your message about fathers taking their children fishing and hiking is a great one, my father got me into these things and now I've taught some of my friends how to fish, and skills that I've learned because my father took me camping as soon as I was old enough to not try to crawl in the fire, haha. I'll be backpacking until I can't walk anymore. Great channel, keep up the good work man!
I also spread knowledge about tools and fire building to everyone I can because he taught me these things throughout my childhood. The things he's taught me have been and will be helping me for my entire life, and I'll never forget them or him because of it! Keep up this message, a father should be a teacher in the life of their children.
Thank you for making me remember when i was like 6-7 years old when the family went for a fishing trip just like yours, but in northen sweden, thanks for other videos you do and make me dream of things that i whant to do "when i grow up" =)
the best thing about where I live is that I have tons of back roads with brooks, streams, and the river trips is my favorite, lots of fishing to bank cooking and fast water to get a bit of a wake up after a long paddle!! I can go a hundred miles in all directions with out hitting a tar road!!
You are right, Cody. I remember my Dad working his tail off 6 days a week, but I also remember every single time he was able to break loose and do something with me. Fishing, workjng on my car, whatever. Thanks for reminding this Dad to take more time with my little ones. We all need a kick in the pants every so often...
I feel your pain!! I know exactly what you mean about sleeping on the ground. I can get down easy, and even get some sleep, but I need a wrecker to get me up in the morning! HA! Great times!
you all probably dont care but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
Last summer I took my two boys up to manistee national forest in northern michigan. We wilderness camped for 3 nights, fishing for trout every day. I am proud to say that my youngest boy outfished me by a wide margin. It was also his first time ever cleaning fish. You are right; there is just something primal about a man taking his sons into the wilderness! Bravo Cody!
Funny, I don't like starbucks that much just getting it from a shop, but that instant coffee is great! I think it really helps that you are out camping when you drink it, because everything tastes better when you are camping!! I had some for the first time just last year, or maybe it was the year before when I went hiking/camping/fishing with my Dad. It is true when you say they will remember those trips always, I remember all the great trips I went on with my Dad. I continue to do so to this day.
I haven't had a fishing license or gone fishing in almost 30 years but now am older with growing kids so I purchased one so I could take my kids fishing this next weekend. It should be fun.
I could have watched 100 hours of that. I even got a little emotional ( in a good way) remembering the trips dad and I took into Canada. How priceless. I have 4 daughters and they love the outdoors, even tho they're city girls. Yep, this was good, very good. About the coffee... ever tried cowboy coffee? I know, I know, but just try it, you'll like it :) Thank you for sharing
Very Cool, My Father in law used to always say, "Take a Kid Fishing" so I went with my two kids whenever I could manage. Just stumbled on your Videos and am catching up as fast as I can. Keep the Faith Friend
I could almost taste that trout. Mmmm!! Mmmm!! Love the Ugly Stick, have a couple of them in different sizes/weight. And, we're fortunate enough to have a camp on a lake here in central New York, so no more tents for this "Papa"
I am a single Mom. I always taken my daughter out camping with other single Mom'sm some of our favorite memories. Now the kids are all grown and have told them it is time to take over the traditions.
Me and my dad would go fishing once a month in the California delta. I loved those days. I still at some times can get him to shake the dust off the poles to go fishing with me about every few months.
Great advice, as usual, Wranglerstar. To anyone who may read this comment, just do SOMETHING with your kids, especially one-on one. You have no idea how much of an impact it will have on them. You may think nothing of it, but they will love it. It is your attention they crave. It shows you value them. The other day (it is early Spring at the time of this writing) I played "catch" (in quotes because there wasn't a whole lot of catching on either side) with my boy for about 10 minutes. I thought nothing of it, but the next day he kept talking about it to Mrs. Pilgrim, about how much fun he had.
Neat video. Reminds me of when my old man went fishing. Pack the fishing pole with an assortment of goods; worms, crayfish, anchovies, etc. He'd also bring with him an insulated thermos of green tea/or coffee and two metal tins of steamed rice and vegetables and off he went to his fishing hole. So much blood....
Cody you are making memories of a lifetime for jack and he is picking up some great skills along the way.
Yes. I took my son fishing last year for the first time. I'm going to do it again shortly! What a blessing!
Thanks for the video!

I remember my first fish with pop. Great memory I would relive over and over.. German brown trout at Rock Creek, East Fork. California.
that's great! some of my best memories are hunting and fishing trips with my dad. those are memories no kid will forget
Simply amazing views. Jack will never forget these times with his dad. Everybody should be taking their children to enjoy the Great outdoors.
I love this video! Beautiful weather. Beautiful location. Plenty of fish. Equals plenty of beautiful memories for you both. You are blessed, Wranglerstar.
Couldn't thumbs up enough. Absolutely love this one. Some of my favorite memories are with my father in the woods. Thank You!!!
Great video Mr.Wranglerstar.
You are and honorable father figure. I enjoy watching your videos, they're educational, respectful and blessing.
Oh man, Jack is so cute!
Great fish Jack, and you did a wonderful job cleaning and cooking it!
Your words a truly so right. We fathers tend to get so focused on being providers for our families that we forget that being fathers is spending quality time with our kids. Thanks for reminding me.
How did I ever miss this video. Awesome throw back four years ago.
Lots of great memories coming back for me watching this, used to go fishing at my uncle's cabin all the time. Now living in downtown Tokyo fishing is not happening much.
Great video!
Wranglerstar-

Thank you,
This brings back fond memories. Thank you Cody.
Great video Cody and Jack. You said it best Jack, nothing like fresh caught fish cooked. Thanks for sharing brother.
Take care.
Another great family video from the Wranglerstar franchise. Thumbs Up !!
Every part of this video made me happy! And ""CameraMan Jack" did a great job filming and narrating!
I want to live there, but Maine will have to do for me. Loved this one so much!! I never went camping as a kid, but I always wished we had, you are so right about taking your kids camping. God Bless! Keep up the good work.
This is my favorite UA-cam Chanel!!!
You are SO right! My son's favorite memory was an overnight camping/canoe trip. We didn't fish but paddled 20 miles and tent camped on a sand bar. We had a fire, boiled water for our freeze dried meals and had the time of our lives.
What a great video, beautiful area and just heart warming with the interaction between you and your son. Doesn't get much better than that
One of, if not the best video you have made. Thanks for sharing.
Love the fish. Nothing like fresh fish. Lovely.
Beautiful Trout. Dark and rich colors. Good video
I love your videos. You are truly an example of a Godly father & your wife is an excellent example of the Proverbs 31 wife. Your son is so cute & sweet. He is blessed & following in an excellent example of a man of God.

Truly a blessing
Fantastic! I love fishing and this is so great to see.
Excellent video Cody please go on more camping/backpacking trips and take us with you!
Such a great video, I couldn't agree more about getting out into nature and fishing with the kids, cant wait till mine are little older. This was one of my favorite videos.
Great, great video! My brother and I used to take a week of vacation together and we'd go trout fishing. Great times!
its great you teach the kids to harvest like that so young. keep up the good work
What a great video, my dad and I went fishing on Saturday. It was great, and can't wait to see the wild land fire gear video I love the gear. I have a pair of whites smokejumpers myself! I look forward to all of your videos, but this is by far one of my favorites. Good job.
Its been to long since i was last fishing. A few years anyways. It'll be nice when my boy is old enough to take him adventuring but until then a day or two car camping will have to suffice. Nice video wranglerstar, always fun seeing people get out and take a breath.
Love it! Reminds me of my younger days backpacking into the pristine lakes up in No Cal Trinity Alps! They don't have that here in GA!
Beautiful! You only have to open your eyes to see the hand of God!
I myself could not go camping enough with my son. We went camping at least two times a summer and most years most summer weekends. He graduated a few weeks ago and now he has two jobs do not know if we can make a trip this year and is hard for me to think that we will not get to go like we used to. Looks like an awesome place you have found there. I am taking my girls camping this coming weekend. My oldest talks about our annual trip all year long!
Loved it, glad to see you guys caught a good amount of fish. Keep them coming!
While I do love living near the coast and surf fishing, I am some times jealous of the mountain lake and steams you have access to. Beautiful spots.
It is great to see the fun time you guys had out together. I always get great comments from people when we just take them out for a day of what we can "Dirt Time". Any time you can leave the city behind and get your feet in the dirt is a good time.
What a great weekend thanks for sharing.
Thank you for giving us some old time good clean fun for the family. It's so rare today for this type of video. Lets hope the government doesn't start charging us to use these areas for this type of bonding!
Looks like a great time! I just wish I had a parent to do that with. You seem like a wonderful father, keep it up!
Another reminder how blessed I am to live in the Pacific Northwest. Way to make a memory for Jack, Cody!
Looks like a great time with your son. Thanks for sharing with us
I love these videos. God Bless!

Wow! Tell Jack I've mounted a pile of Brookies smaller than the one you cooked. Great fishing hole!!
I can't believe you and jack slept in that tent together. I use the same tent backpacking and I barely fit myself! Looks like a great trip!
The original plan was for Jack to sleep in the boat.
How is it even possible that I have missed such a nice video
Me too and it’s October 2018!
Fantastic Video. This is one of my new favorites.
It's very beautiful up there. Yesterday I tried to go fishing, but when I got to the lake I felt some of the strongest winds I've ever experienced. Also, that is the proper and only way to cook trout while camping. Thanks!

This seems amazing, i wish my family took me to places like this when i was younger.
Having a great time camping and fishing with the kids. I agree it's one of the best things to do. Do it now everyone, they grow up fast.
Loved this video and the message. Hello from the bicycling landscapers (les jardiniers à bicyclette) up in Montreal!
Thank you for making me remember when i was like 6-7 years old when the family went for a fishing trip just like yours, but in northen sweden, thanks for other videos you do and make me dream of things that i whant to do "when i grow up" =)

That looks nice. We were talking at work today about camping trips with the kids ... this must be a sign.

This was awesome, refreshing video! God bless Cody! - Kev
Way to make some memories! Looks like a blast.
I feel your pain!! I know exactly what you mean about sleeping on the ground. I can get down easy, and even get some sleep, but I need a wrecker to get me up in the morning! HA! Great times!
Beautiful!
you all probably dont care but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Cain Matthew instablaster :)
Haven't fished in many years. Looks like you guys had a blast.
Just heading home from the snake river. Bout 50 catfish. Heading home to willamina in the Willamate Vally. First time catfishing. Loved it.
Last summer I took my two boys up to manistee national forest in northern michigan. We wilderness camped for 3 nights, fishing for trout every day. Just spent the weekend fishing with my 74 year old dad and my 3 year old son. It was a good time.
Ah ha, good ol' sea hawk 2. I have used one of these for years now, awesome little boat to haul into remote ponds.
Good choice on your Leatherman. I use the same one and it is very handy.
the pic of the trout in the clear water priceless. cheers
Very Cool, My Father in law used to always say, "Take a Kid Fishing" so I went with my two kids whenever I could manage. Just stumbled on your Videos and am catching up as fast as I can. Keep the Faith Friend

I'm going to take your advice. Thanks Cody.
YES!!!!! I've been waiting for this video ever since i first subscribed!!!!!! fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good times! Love the rooster tail too. I've prob caught hundreds if not thousands of fish on rooster tails over the years.
Wow, Jack is growing up so fast!
Lotsa nice memories with us 3 boys and our dad out campin and fishin.
Nothing like fresh cook camp trout! Most beautiful country in the nation.
The last time I went was eight years ago-right after I got back from Advanced Infantry School-Ft. Benning, Ga and he was casting his pole and suddenly the pole when from straight to bent u-shaped with the reel screaming to life.
well he caught a monster snapping turtle and next thing you know he cracked the shell with a huge meat cleaver he had stuffed in his fishing bag and dressed the teriphin right in front of me.
So much blood....
Looked awesome! Love to see the ugly stick reelin them in too!!
Nice video! I love taking my kids fishing!
