We were all told a.fib. Is a progressive disease with no cause. The severity of symptoms vary. The treatments are cardiac drugs or surgical ablation. I chose ablation 3 X over 2005-6. Still have occasional break through. I noticed during my career that several of my patients for other procedures presented with a Hx of a.fib. In every case these patients were long distance runners, cyclers, etc. this is currently recognized as as one of the possible “causes” due to the enlargement of the pulmonary & cardiac aortas.
your life story runs like mine. i was training seriously for world masters games cycling. While doing some speed type training at zone 5 i noticed my heart rate going up to 175 which is way to high for a 75 yr old. i did win a silver medal in TT and a couple of 4ths. 33, male, had an unknown horrible fever for 7 days, on the 5th day I felt what I though were palpitations, on the 7th day which was yesterday from today my heart beat just didn't make sense. Went to the hospital and I was in afib at 185bpm, they gave me 2 large doses of something and after 4 hours it dropped down into the 80s and fibrillation was gone. Stayed overnight and now I'm on meds. They believe its the fever, or the potential ear infection i got during this fever that threw my heart into a fib. Its not fun, I was actually scared. If you read the comments section here it seems there are a lot of people under the age of 35 with a fib. I’m guessing we’re talking Americans here because, not only do I not know anybody who has it, I just asked a dozen people way ablation is, and no one knew. Then I messaged four American friends, all under the age of 50, and all of them knew. Pretty weird
A fib here too.One successful ablation giving me 20yrs clear. Then it came back.Ablation number 2 didn't work. As this guy says.....cause and effect.....what is triggering this thing? With me...vaping was one.Took me a while to associate this.Lifting heavy objects is another.
It's Amazing to me just how varied the cause and effects are with Afib!? I think mine are triggered by the vagus-nerve connection. Vagus-nerve signals over riding the normal sinus-node rhythm? And also, of course, by good ole Stress!!😉 (Haven't had an AFib episode in over a year now.YAY! Hope you are doing well these days!😊)
Ive had 2 ablations and have been converted once, its a struggle it keeps coming back when ever it wants, I don’t drink anymore i hardly have caffeine. Its ruining my life, sometimes id wish I would just die, Im so over it.

@@Chetaguete well sometimes I get it because I can’t stop drinking coffee for good, I don’t drink it every day, but it won’t go away until I stop caffeine for good. I have learned caffeine and stress trigger AFIB, but I m fine nothing to worry about it.

Also vitamin c and d3- i had only one episode one night when i turned around quickly in bed. Hope it continues this way! All the best for you! Oh and i do have a ablation scheduled, as well as i had too many episodes in the past months and inreally wonder if inreally still need the surgery
You did not OUTRUN it - you had some serious specialized hospital treatment which worked well enough to enable you to get back to running without fear of a heart attack. I'm happy for you but the title is dangerously misleading. Sometimes exercise can help to alleviate the symptoms, but it's an unreliable remedy.
Did u ever take prednisone or steroids. This corrupt crao causes it. I had prednisone to stop hearing loss in left ear. I was anti pred but they said just a week on day 3shotness of breath innthe shower etc
Yes, it's a trigger for some people, but not all! I still drink a lot of coffee every day, and haven't had an AFib episode in over a year now!YAY.😊 That's the thing with AFib. Sooo many different things can be the cause for different individuals. I think mine has the vagus-nerve connection and also is triggered by Stress!?🤔
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217 Glad you reduced your fib. As I've lost weight and exercised more my afib episodes have reduced significantly.
They said if it happens again, just call an ambulance. Don't drive.
I pray you are doing well now
Hey im also having what i think is afib... (I havent diagnose yet) but im also having an ear bothering ... (Dont know if i have ear infecrion also... ). I dont have a health insurance yet thats why i havent gone to the hospital or to a clinic :(
It could be Covid19. Ask them again 🦠😷
Yeah.. crazy how people will walk into a hospital carrying their leg in their hand because of insurance/ money.
Welp.. to go along with your story. Have you tried more natural means of resolving afib? I've had two ablations already. I'm 33 like you. I first had it when I was 28. Not fun. After two ablations that only worked for a short time i looked hot natural means. Helped out a lot.
@@joseruiz8587 If you ever experience heart issues go directly to the Hospital or Emergency center!! You shouldn't put your Life at risk because of No insurance!!!
I'm starting my research on finding out what my options are for dealing with A-fib. The real question for me is, how do I pay for an ablation procedure should it come to that? I'm retired, on Medicare, with an additional advantage plan.
I would call my insurance company and see if it covers this procedure if it is recommended by your doctor!?🤔
WHEre is this doctor can i have his contacts
Is it possible to get Afib at 35?
And also, of course, by good ole Stress!!😉
(Haven't had an AFib episode in over a year now.YAY! Hope you are doing well these days!😊)
Ive had 2 ablations and have been converted once, its a struggle it keeps coming back when ever it wants, I don’t drink anymore i hardly have caffeine. Its ruining my life, sometimes id wish I would just die, Im so over it.
To all of you out there do your homework eat right, do not consume caffeine chocolate, coffee ect. and buy this supplements Magnesium taurate, potassium taurine and La- arginine and you should be alright for life. My was gone with these supplements, eating clean and no caffeine
I agree! how are you doing now?
@@Chetaguete well sometimes I get it because I can’t stop drinking coffee for good, I don’t drink it every day, but it won’t go away until I stop caffeine for good. I have learned caffeine and stress trigger AFIB, but I m fine nothing to worry about it.
@@antonioperthamboy7208 thanks for your reply, i cut out all caffeine, and started working out 5 times a week on elliptical 45 min on it and 15 min weight training, i only started 1 month ago but haven’t had an attack and it seems to be keeping the afib away,, for me i had 8 attacks back in October and in related it to stress with my kids, so i learned to lean towards my faith in Jesus and church and working out along with magnesium nightly and electrolytes daily. Also vitamin c and d3- i had only one episode one night when i turned around quickly in bed. Hope it continues this way! All the best for you! Oh and i do have a ablation scheduled, as well as i had too many episodes in the past months and inreally wonder if inreally still need the surgery

You did not OUTRUN it - you had some serious specialized hospital treatment which worked well enough to enable you
to get back to running without fear of a heart attack. I'm happy for you but the title is dangerously misleading.
Sometimes exercise can help to alleviate the symptoms, but it's an unreliable remedy.
Yes, the third ablation outran the AFib.
extreme marathoners get it more than others according to research even without other comorbodities
R.I.P
Did u ever take prednisone or steroids. This corrupt crao causes it. I had prednisone to stop hearing loss in left ear. I was anti pred but they said just a week on day 3shotness of breath innthe shower etc
It is too difficult to hear you speak w that music sooo loud
You gave me hope ,wow no coffee no alcohol no social ,I'm assuming that means booty call,.
This is why I limit my runs at 3.5/4 miles per session.
holy cow is that piano music annoying
With all due respect, it IS a cause and effect... Everything on earth is a cause and effect... I hate stupid statements..
Music does nothing for this story except being an annoying distraction. The end. Goodbye good luck
A reminder the God loves you and Jesus died for your. sins💓. ( not tryna force)
Annoying music. Distraction from good information
Caffeine and Afib don't go together at all!
I just had a 15 minute episode for the first time in about 9 months. My primary trigger is intense anaerobic exercise, basically interval work (yes, I'm an "elderly" athlete). So, I'm going to stick to aerobic more often now.
@@Lehmann108 Good for you!!😉 This past week I had my first Afib episode in quite a while. AND it lasted for Over 4 frigging Hours!!#UGH.
The Only positive take-away is that it was much milder! I never really felt it in my chest. Just suddenly felt woozy and not well. Checked my pulse and verrry erratic heart-beat!! BUT, for the previous couple of days I had been feeling rather ill like I had caught a stomach bug or something. I think that may have been the trigger for setting my Afib off?🤔 Feeling much better now and so hope that's the end of that! I really like to try and exercise a bit everyday as well. Thinking of joining a nearby gym. Yes, I am thinking of becoming a silver-sneakers gym-rat!lol. (I believe that's what older gym-rats are called?)😂 Good luck and good Health to you!😉
