Handtrap Havoc! The Agent X Kristya - Master 1 - Season 27 Showdown - [Yu-Gi-Oh! MasterDuel]

Hello fellas! Back again at season 27.
The meta format has shaped its way to prove SE as the sole winner.
Grinding ladder was very tough, especially on M3 (idky).
You will need a way to counter SE which is why we have 13 handtraps.
with some bystial names to help along.
I tried every possible build with Agent and found this one still kicks best.
Every handtrap can disrupt SE main plays, patience is key to chain the right one.
Tips for Handtrap Targets:
Maxx C: Use after Wanted activated, toggle on or after a monster is summoned (if you sense gamma)
Ash: OG sinful spoils, SE Ash second effect
Veiler/Imperm : SE-Ash
Orange: SE-Ash, or against handtraps
Bystials: IP Masq, Diabell, Linkuriboh
Sometimes you brick as a result of using a lot of handtraps.
But this is daijoubu, because all handtraps are generally effective against all meta strategies.
You can also stall your LP and utilize Bystial to prevent attacks while your LP is low.
Next turn, surprise them with Pyschic End Punisher (PEP).
Veiler also works well with Bystials as a cost to banish (credit: Cspratt).
META BREAKDOWN:
This deck struggles against stun and Kashtira (particularly in grind games).
As previously stated, more than 70% of matchups are against SE (or SE-Kash).
I guess people mix Kash packages with SE to counter mirror matches (Kash Unicorn removes ED core parts).
Against Branded is difficult because they also play Bystials.
Labys double Big Welcome and hand rip can be fatal.
SHS is more of a handtrap mini-game. Plenty of tear copium. Even Tear with Lab (coping rollback?), which is irritating when it succeeds.
Next META:
Likey after DC, SE-Ash will be hit. Lab becomes stronger with Arias and unchained support.
Probably some other minor hits to the decks mentioned above.

I constantly have a battle with my own mind every season to decide the final recipe of decklist.
Duality turns out a decent tech which I tried with Trickstar engine too.

Hey, I just tried out your deck but I just wanna know what is the game plan for agents? I have trouble trying to figure out what the end board should be or what I should be prioritizing when it comes to my combos. Just wanna know what they are good at so I can know what cards will go good with them. Specially the trickster version.

hi there! thanks for the compliment.
The basic idea going 1st is to summon Archlord Kristya. To do this you need your agent starter and 1 Fairy extender.
Trickstar corobane acts as a extender, so does ready fusion to summon Allvain, or Sakitama.
Going 2nd is shown like in the replays.

Do you think we could drop Kristya and Sanctuary in the Sky for a more midrange version of the deck? I’m asking because I noticed in a lot of your replays you don’t actually end up getting to Kristya, and in my experience, between Nib/Bystials/Crow it’s getting harder and harder to get Kristya out on turn one. Maybe we could end our turn with a Masterflare and a Fallen Sanctuary instead, and hopefully Bystials and handtraps could get us to turn 3?

You can drop kristya and make room for lets Fallen Sanct. Its really okay, especially if Kristya is not your taste. While most games I show doesnt resolve me locking kristya, the truth is lots of games are carried by Kristya. In that sense, for a competitive decklist I would always recommend Kristya..

Majesty Hyperion can be special summoned from hand or GY by banishing 1 Agent monster. Its a inherit summon like Kashtira, so it doesnt trigger any chains.
While it is Majesty Hyperion is face-up, it will make all Fairy monsters we control to reflect battle damage. Hope that helps!

you can, but that sort of warcrimes are usually with a venus line because cupid pitch can search for nemeses.

Crossout serves as a staple to counter handtraps so you can replace with other staples of your collection. Best would probably be Triple Tactics Talents 🫡
