For those who dont understand why those soldiers are sad and think soldiers arent human just killers. They are sad because these are men that they have trained alongside for months. And they know that there is a chance they wont ever see them again. They have a mutual respect for one another. Because they understand the courage it takes to fight a war. And i can guarantee that once the war is over the spanish soldier's will reunite with the ukrainians they trained and share a beer or two together. The bond you build with your fellow soldiers is one unlike any other. The respect and brotherhood is unmatched. God bless these soldiers. May St. Michael guide them to victory

I'm an OIF2 Light Infantryman... And seeing the way the Spanish soldiers emotional goodbye brought me too tears.. I feel their pain. They became brothers with there fellow Ukrainian warriors.. just because they showed emotion doesn't make them less a man. It makes them human.. God Bless

It makes you want to cry just seeing their physical reactions you can tell that they know that those soldiers may die in the sadness that they feel. I’m so proud of the soldiers for helping Ukraine.

The bond between warriors that endure tough trainings together is something beautiful and close to the heart.
Or they know they other have a few weeks training up against the Russian paras and armour… few months ago now so we know where these guys are now. The sad thing is this war!!! Now Ukraine mobilises disabled type 3. It’s on the eastern front!!! Only people that truly can be called brother soldiers are the guys on the other side of the trench in the same situation.

These Spanish soldiers are some of the best military in the world. They know their job, they know what is at stake. They did what was needed to be done. They ended up sending their friends into battle without them because that was the order.
The best in the world, that's a stretch, they might be good soldiers but they barely see any action, the last I remember was in the rear in Afghanistan and only a couple of them went there

Building friendships. As a retired senior leader, its hard to train soldiers for war and knowing you can't go with them. You give them every ounce of knowledge you have. Farewell is a bitter sweet moment.

I have to admit this brought me to tears. Those trainers know that the trained Ukrainians are going into harms way and many may die.
This is gut-wrenching for those soldiers and is no doubt the same for the British, Canadian and all other forces who have been training these brave Ukrainians. Naturally they formed a bond, many probably made enduring friendships, they have done all they can to provide those Ukrainian heroes with the skills to survive and prevail in the struggle ahead. Now they can do no more but watch their comrades go into the inferno, praying that they make it but knowing some of them will not. Respect to Spain and all nations supporting Ukraine. @@jooniDjbig difference is the insurgents in Afghanistan didnt have the technology, weaponry and sheer amount of manpower that Russia has. Russia is 1000x more formidable in a conflict. The only reason why the wars in the middle east were difficult was because of the extreme terrain and guerrilla tactics that the insurgents used.

There would not be a Spanish soldier there that would not join them if the could. This is what is recognised good prepared to support those that are prepared to sacrifice their lives for defending their country and people. Be it known, the world is against Russia and they are showing it in many ways. Russia is nor prepared for the hard times ahead when they will suffer poverty and the world locks them out.

After training these guys and knowing where they're going and why it would be hard to not want to go with them, they're your guys, you trained them and feel some concern for them.
For sure. Notice the Spanish soldier on the right consoling his comrade, both knowing that some or all of their new friends may soon be lost in battle. That's brotherhood.
Some concern? I have never been in the military but my Father was. A strong bond between all of them. I bet some wanted to go with them.
I'm an old Spanish Marine. Do not doubt that many would go with them.

I can feel their sadness. Knowing the comrades that you've just trained now being sent to combat for the freedom of their country is heartbreaking.
What'sheartbreaking is knowing that some will not survive, and all because a communist dictator wanted to make a name for himself in history. And for that many good men have to die.
