What a delightful tour to 'visit' Fraserburgh via U-tube, with commentary as well. Visited Fraserburgh about 30 years ago 'connecting' with my long time pen friend with whom by now we have corresponded going on 68 years! Can you imagine that! We toured Aberdeen and the highlands, Isle of Skye, central Scotland, Pitlochry and of course Edinburgh and so many amazing castles! Learned to eat haggis and drink Scrumpy Jack! I am happy to know that on my mother's side of the family are Scots ...of the Stewart Clan. Bought a tartan!
Thank you so much for sharing that. What a lovely story. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the video and that it brought back so many happy memories of your visit to Scotland too.
Very fine toon. I was there yesterday for the first time in many years. I fancied pickin up a box o'Broch Candy but it seems to be extinct now, unfortunately.
Splendid as always. Also birthplace of Chaplin look-alike and chicken hypnotist Steve Fairnie (1951-1993). A man best known perhaps as front man of the post-punk band Writz, Fairnie’s main claim to fame was his partnership with singer songwriter Bev Sage. Together they took the charts by storm with a remake of Frederick Hollander’s 1930s hit ‘Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt’, better known perhaps as ‘Falling in Love Again (Can't Help It)’. 🤣
Thomas Blake Glover - arrived in Japan in 1859 to manage the newly established Nagasaki office of Jardine, Matheson & Co. He later participated in establishing businesses that would became pillars of Mitsubishi's early growth and diversification which is why he is so revered by Mitsubishi. My grandad, J M Thom(p)son was Provost during WW2.
Very interesting my mother came from the broch but married someone from peterheed. I’ve been in Australia for 40 yrs can’t remember much of Fraserburgh than you for the history 😊
Another really interesting video.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it x

@drewsimpson5967 so many things like that disappear over the years, leaving us disappointed. Thank you so much for watching the video.
I didn't even know that Dennis Nilsen was Scottish 😮
Yes he was. Thank you so much for watching x
He was in my aunties class at school.
@@brucemacallan6831 he was maybe OK at school, I don't know. It would certainly be a talking point in your family. Thank you for so much for watching.

Thank you so much for watching the video.
Mostly about the Family not the town
Sorry you didn't enjoy it. The family played a large part in town and its growth.
Dennis Nillsen is hardly a claim to fame for Fraserburgh.
He was notorious really, or infamous. Thank you so much for watching.
