Downtown Chicago at Christmas

- Every year during the holidays, I like to take one day to visit downtown Chicago because the decorations really are pretty and festive. I decided to take you all with me! The ice skating rink we went to was the Daley Bicentennial Plaza in Grant Park. It's much smaller than the one at Millennium Park, but there was no line and less expensive. It gets the job done! Hope you all enjoy :)
I miss Chicago SO much... and I especially miss Christmas in Chicago! Thank you for sharing!!

I'm in love with this video.
I'm a New York person who has always wanted to visit Chicago. Your video helps me do that (a little bit) from home. Thanks. I like your narration and piano touches. It all left me wanting to see more. Thank you.
i miss chicago so much ill b there for christmas thanks for the video.... so much memories
Chicago is wonderful in the wintertime. My girlfriend is originally from Houston and she loves the holiday bustle up here. It'll be much like a New York Christmas when you get here, I can promise you that. From one Chicagoan to a future one: hope you have a smooth move!
thats one of my favorite things to do in chicago for the holidays !! i usually go to Millennium park, since I have my own skates, but that locker is not large enough, I always have someone bump into me, but its still awesome !!
I'm so glad you hit macy's and water tower place. Two of my go to's during the holiday season. I absolutely LOVE downtown during the holidays. Chicago turns magical during x-mas (probably so the residents don't riot over being plowed in). Its really a sight to behold. Note to visitors: NEVER accept a shoe shine in the loop during the holidays. I had a friend come in from Ohio, and we spent almost 30 minutes haggling a free shine "on god's will" because he didn't have the heart to stop walking.
Thanks for tour of my Chicago!
Never get tired of watching this video. Hope to go some day soon.
I love Chicago my favourite city. I've never been there winter time. It looks awesome. Greetings from London!!
wow what a great place to visit.
Great video! Love Chicago :-)
this is classy.chi town has changed a lot since I've been their.its been 25 +years since I've been back.I grew up their.
I really enjoyed your video! I just visited chicago a month ago and fell in love. I ate in the spot where that rink in millennium park was! In the summer they have a bar and grill set up which I thought was neat how they switch it around.
Thank you for sharing this, I enjoyed it! :) Love your red scarf and hat!
Chicago really is the greatest city on earth! And Chicago really has two downtown's. The section south of the main branch of the river where the famous Loop is which holds the Financial and theater districts, Shopping, theaters and cultural places on State Street including the famous State Street Macy's store with it's Tiffany domes, atrium's, fountain and Walnut room. Then we have Jewelers Row, All the Metra Terminals that surround it over and under the city. All the CTA El trains and Subway lines converge there plus Millennium Park and the Museum Campus, Northerly Island and Soldier Field. Plus many of the world tallest towers and underground roadways. The Pedway. The River walk and outdoor art sculptures. And LaSalle Street known as the canyon due to all the buildings in the Finance District exchanges more money than any place in the world including Wall street. Plus the many different draw bridges.
Then the section north of the River's main branch has Michigan Avenue (Magnificent Mile) worlds best shopping street plus Oak Street VERY exclusive shopping. The night life of Rush and Division Streets, River North Art District and Furniture districts, Restaurant Row/District and the Gold Coast plus more super tall towers every where. And Navy Pier! Plus more beautiful beaches and lakefronts on both parts of Downtown .
Take a great boat tour on the river/lake or one of the cool bus tours. Go to Navy Pier or Millennium Park or to the observatory at either the Willis or Hancock towers. Go to one of the many world class museums or theaters or to Lincoln Park Zoo. Shop on the Magnificent Mile "Michigan Avenue"or Oak Street in the Gold Coast or State Street in the Loop or maybe Jewelers Row on Wabash in the Loop. Take an El train or Subway ride. Walk the River walk or along the Lake or hang out at one of the many beaches. Go to an art gallery in the River North Art District.
you seem to know a lot about Chicago! I might go there..maybe can you list some pros and cons about it? and is it expensive
okay,thank you for telling me.
+Aaliyah Cook county (the county Chicago is in) has the highest sales tax in the country, so look out for that. And yes it is beautiful, clean, and somewhat friendly.. If you drive exactly the speed limit, expect to be honked at and/or flipped off. Also when you're walking on Michigan, State, or any other Main Street, KEEP MOVING haha you will die. Probably most importantly, you're safe in the loop (main downtown area), but remember, if you start drifting a bit, it's one wrong turn and you have a bullet in the head. Hope you have fun!
This video is really good! I actually live in Chicago. I hope I visit downtown at Christmastime.
2020 Christmas is going to be a bummer 😠😠 thanks for the video😎

Yeah the girl who made the video is right...Its really amazing and very lovely all those trees in the shopping malls...Itz really pretty and nice to see when city's take Christmass serrious...All those lights all over the streets very very lovely decorations all over Chi's downtown :D
Here is only 1 shopping mall that takes it serrious and putting money into christmass decoration so that's a place where it's really packed too cause people go there just to see the decorations...Nice video!!!!

NOT TRUE.... water tower is not the only building survive the great fire... several churches and an old college are among several that survived.
LOL! I miss read 6:24. I thought you said "We ran into some colored musicians"
@ :34, "...people like us just want to look at the Christmas decorations..." ...Usually you try to avoid the downtown area like the plague during the holiday season because it's just swamped with holiday shoppers and tourists... Um...OK... You are so very different. And unique. ...
please make anotherone....
Too bouncy...the camera movement to really enjoy the film. Miss the city a LOT. Merry Christmas, and thanks for the tour.
