Stay tuned for more of this kind of craftsmanship in the lost art of masonry, including block walls, polishing stone, we built a fire pit with homemade bricks. How to build or make anything masonry and stone.
Come from generations of masons. I must say, you paint portraits with your trowel. Amazingly clean and precise. The one handing 12s is crazy as well. But strength is strength the trowel skill is most impressive. Awesome display of skills.
Thanks man, I appreciate that!
Man love this video. Wish there were more like it on UA-cam. Miss the music that used to be on it. It is relaxing watching this guy. We lay over the line but I love the way he lays. I’m sitting on vacation watching him lay 12s like poetry and just chillin. Mad respect. Smooth brother smooth!
Thanks Man.
Yeah where did the music go?
that's years and years of technique right there. not a wasted movement. It took me a long time before I could wrap all of the Technique's I learned over the years into one single 8-hour day. cool video
Thanks man
Kudos to that mason and hod carrier. Plenty of block, mortar, rebar etc. I can see years of experience in the motion of that trowel. Much respect.
Very impressive, I’m a financial person but I’m in awe of people with these skills.
i know Im kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?
This guy is strong! He must have large wrist big hands and massives forearms !💪
Not quite sure how many times I have watched this.... pure skill
Everytime I go from restoration to new construction companies, I come and watch your video, so relaxing 😌
Awesome! Thank you! I'm Super glad you enjoy it.
Nice
Spreading perfect
Handling the block efficiency
Setting the block on the bed joint craftsmanship
Picking the edges mortar you sit on the head joint
He ended right on the control joint
I’ll give him an A plus
This is by far the best mason I’ve seen with these specific blocks. Very impressive. Light weight block, tight beds and heads but still very impressive
Thanks sir
Never seen anyone in Hawaii carry 12" block like that. And I been with some damn good setters......
Yeah, this guys attention to detail is phenomenal!😀
Effortless, clean, tidy, quick. Awesome
One handing 12s like a beast! You need a job come work for me
OK lol
ummm its not that hard, they are utralites i can tell by the sound of his trowel tapping them.
Talent , skilled tradesman right there
So far the best in all videos I have seen. He is pretty good!
Have seen this video a few times and it doesn't get old watching a true mason with serious skills lay down some block with ease--especially a 12'' cmu at about 50+ lbs ea
Thanks, I appreciate that
Best I have ever seen. Well Done!
Those blocks look very light or this guy is secretly the hulk. Quality work mate, cheers from Canada.
nice work no wasted motion
not many
Smooth as butter.
more than you for

The only potential waste I see (as somebody with zero block laying experience) is applying mortar to the block while holding it in the air. It seems to be a waste of strength/energy. Not that this dude needs my input.
@@ajtweb Could be a bit more technique to it than we realize?
i admire this MAN
VERY GOOD BLOCK LAYER, AND NEAT. NO HACKS WANTED.......
ahhhh much better.....Just came back from watching a cinder block laying in Vietnam...
He makes it look easy.
I had never laid 12s or neither carried them to the stack and i have to say this guy is strong as hell I'm a big dude i started last week building two walls for a school and i have to use both hands right now im sore as hell.
lol thanks, keep at it.
A great technician.. I would put him on my team any day.
Heck yeah
Not to mention como estan pesado los blokes
Making that 52lbs look easy! :)
Laying 12s for 7 days makes one weak 😃
Damn if he doesn't make it look easy-clean as a Safeway chicken!
this is amazing to watch
That is what you call skill
Yeah, dude is good. I like the double butter.
He laid 10 block in 5 minutes. At that rate it's 960 in an 8 hour day LOL
I'd like about 10 dollars a block at that rate lol

I'm glad it helped you out, thanks for watching.
I have to know how you are getting that head joint mud to stick with one swipe? Rich mud mix? Very impressive skills
Start at the hilt of the trowel as you go up the block twist the trowel at the top of the block sealing it to the block
thats 12 inch block this guy is laying them with one had wow hes got some serious strength in that arm
I've done stucco masonry for over 20 years and I dable in learning block. I remember seeing your video years ago and I keep coming back to it to see your poetry in motion. You were made for this trade brother. Is that wrist trowel action to get the mud to stick on first swipe or is it a rich mix mud? I have to know the secret to that please.
It's both, but if you don't have good mortar in the trade you still have to be able to make it stick to be effective and fast. Type S mortar is a lot better than type N maybe that's part of your trouble getting it to stick.
@@SolidworksUnlimited Yes sir, In stucco plastering we tell the mixer to mix rich for ceiling work. And a type S is similar if not the same as our standard 3-1 stucco mix. I'll get it with practice I'm sure. Thank you sir
Great work.
This guy makes it look easy. True craftsman right there.
Makes it look so easy I'm averaging 1 block ever 11 minutes
Good work , Sir
Thanks man
These blocks are designed to lay like this but he has it down to a fine art
Those aren't regular 12's?
Those are real life regular bonified 12 inch block and if you don't like it, eat some mortar and lay a few yourself, I find the smoother sand works better 😀😉
@@cheshstyles all good lol, thanks for watching 👍
Poetry right folks! I also heard those aren't lightweight 12" either. So this man could tear your arm off!
Nope no tearing arms lol
Are they 12 inch blocks that weigh in around 55 lb or are they lighter blocks made from light weight aggregate like expanded clay .
Nice Job!!
Thanks
Some upside down bond beams in there, grouting solid I guess.
Man this guy has some big 💪💪💪👍
Lol
Construção cada vez mais moderna
Good job
Must of been just extra bond beams that needed used up??
Ya was thinking the same
oh,dont get me started on bond beams! I'm already way too excited.
No aga caso alos comentarios negativos.
Top class work and speed 👍👍
What happened to the music that was on this video? I loved watching a skilled craftsman doing his thing whilst listening to that country violin sound.
It was copyright protected so I had to remove it, sorry about that.
@@SolidworksUnlimited what was the name of the track if you do not mind me asking??
@@m1as3900 The hard drive I had it on crashed, couldn't retrieve the files, but if my memory servers me correctly it was blue grass country and the song was heartland. Hope this helps
Gracious. :D
Phenomenal
Thanks 👍
How come you dont use a level? ... Shouldnt you check the horizontal plane of the block?
If you line up the bottom of your block flush with the block below and to the line, your as good as level and plumb as you can get, no need to level every block.
@@SolidworksUnlimited Makes sens :-) But doesnt mortar get in a way when you put the block...it squeezes the mortat on the bottom side?
What about the middle bed
what happen to the music that used to be with this video? It was enjoyable
Play this while watching it. ua-cam.com/video/q9DORXf4fbA/v-deo.html
@@barryott7037 I've been checking back on this video for the music over the last two years, and it never got it back on. THANK YOU for sharing it!
Great skills, but I bet they are light weight block
That guy is a G
These are the 12 inch blocks that don't weight much? Because he grabs them with one hand. The other ones you need both hands just to put them on the line.
Why not putting a cement at center? And put rebar?
Cement and rebar come every 5-7 courses
Light weight material good job though
Good man!
No mortar on the cross sections, just sides?
what happened to the one with music???
The Music author placed ads on my video and was making money off it so I changed it, sorry I know it was better, but I need to make a little of my efforts as well, they made money off it for 1.5 million views now its my turn :)
I really really miss the music.
Tommy Arthur the music really made the video. I use to come watch it from time to time and found it calming.
I've been watching this video for like 6 years. And now... Now the music is gone... :'(
I've been watching this video for like 6 years. And now... Now the music is gone... :'(
You will not pick a 12 split face up like that ! But wow never seen mud spread like that
Its probably light weight blocks but yea his spreading method is outstanding
@@michelelanni9205 they aren;t lightweights...thats what is so amazing!
I'm taking it that this isn't as easy as this man makes it look?
Fuckin skills i could still learn from this man 💪
this man probs 230lbs, believe me he is very strong, very skilled, all you who put him down are only envious
I need the music
Good ,
Never seen anyone spread mud with the back of their trowel
Jerry Fellows that's a first for me as well I'm coming up on 18 years experience
Gives the mortar the proper angle it needs to fill the joint without having to joint extra.
I have, my dad has laid a lot of brick in his time he had the best trowel handling skills around
Havent watched close enough
Where is the video with the Celtic music???
I miss the good music....... Great skill.... Master Brick....
Straight up craftsmanship. But now ah days it’s just lay em layem and lay em quickly
from JPN
Top Gun
Thanks!
رائع
Neat cost efficient
Using the "back" of the trowel if even used myself. Nice clean work.Commercial work, expansion joint and hook and eye. Just one question, who the f@ck ordered all jambs?
It was just the last part of the wall and we were just using them up
@@SolidworksUnlimited Yea,I get it. I have had the laborers carry the stretchers down to scaffold because they are lighter and leave the jambs and guess who got to lay them.
Mortar that sticks, ahh, gone are those days..
Nope use type s quickcrete
The mortar type and manufacturing company has nothing to do with it, respectfully,
I’m seeing well slacked and well mixed mortar,
Someone is doing it right over there,
I’m jealous, that’s a far cry from what I see these days!
I enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing
@briandwight9268 Thanks Brian!
great!burabo-!
THIS man would quickly become rich in Au, brickies getting 1.50 dollars fora small brick and over 2 per block
It's like $15/block on 12" here in Canada.
This guy was locked in the basement all his childhood, given nothing but bricks, block and mud. And one day he was let loose on the world!
Lol
Interesante
damm 16*16 blocks picking them up like nothing strong dude
I've laid 12 inch block before and the way he's picking them up... Those are lite blocks, not full weight.
BOUSE DK causr u sir is a bitch.....this man has balls
BOUSE DK he could be that strong. I mean iam with ya I couldn't do it either!
Even if they were 8's they'd be hard to butter like that. Def couldn't do it all day. They look like they're Styrofoam
BOUSE DK - I always lay block with 2 hands, even light weight block. Has nothing to do with strength... it has everything to do with not wanting arthritis from doing it 8hrs a day, 5-6 Days a week.
I have worked with mansory workers a couple of times, and learned that when someone has worked in the industry for years, they become that strong. Don't get me wrong, as he hits them you can hear the density and that they are not that heavy, but there are some gentlemen who are pretty strong that they can carry two 8" block. I've seen it.
Let me see a robot do that in crappy weather.
And build a 25 ft tall tent over it 😃👍
Good money
