I picked one up from KORG UK, by far my favourite synth and definitely worth a purchase although my 1st five minutes consisted of swearing because the power supply wasn't in the box. Luckily I was able to use another until it arrived in the post.
I didn't get to own the old wavestation/EX.. It took korg over 33 years to come up with the successor .well worth the wait.. A joy to synth lovers like me.. I don't mind the 37 key version.
like that the init patch is first in the list. Wave state: does that mean wavetable synthesis? Can i upload a waveform to modulate the oscillators/ (does it have oscillators or is it more samplebased more of a rompler??) Im looking for a modern alternative to the Microwave XT. Sounds amazing, looks like a pain to program and i dont wanna have to replace the pots after 2months :)
The multisamples are little samples. The game here is to make complex sequences of sequences. You can run it like a pure 4-layer rompler like a baby workstation, but the power is the multi-lane sequences that make up the notes. Imo, the rompler keeps this really fast and clean, even with a bunch of tweaks and effects. You can also load your own samples, so yeehaw. There is nothing like this even conceptually, except maybe the much simpler analog moog subharmonicon, and probably some modular, but idk. The main encoder is definitely over-used and people have worn them out on the first wavestates. I treat mine like it is made of glass lol. If you like insane sound design try one. Used ver1's are cheap and the editing software is really helpful to speed up sound design.
