Growing inequalities around the world are becoming increasingly evident in the context of digital skills and access to technologies, with women being left behind as the result of a digital gender divide.
The need for inclusive and transformative technology and digital education is therefore crucial for a sustainable future. Bringing women and other marginalized groups into technology results in more creative solutions and has greater potential for innovations that meet women’s needs and promote gender equality.
Under the theme "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality", the United Nations Observance of International Women's Day 2023 will recognize and celebrate the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education.
IWD 2023 will also explore the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities, with a spotlight on the importance of protecting the rights of women and girls in digital spaces and addressing online and ICT-facilitated gender-based violence.
Join UN Women and together, we will #PowerOn to create an equal digital future for all.

@PatrickArky No, there is evidence that women do undergo a form of "soft oppression" There are many sociological, anthropological, psychological papers on women in the West still dealing with marginalization and discrimination but of course you would say 'no, that isn't happening.' You don't see it happening because it doesn't happen to you. That is what is meant by privilege, having the advantages while no one else can.

This International Womens Day is dedicated specially to South Korean women. South Korean women face the highest discrimination, domestic and sexual violence against women between the developed countries. Women are harassed everyday in the public transport, by teachers at school and by their bosses at work.
South Korean government has a real institutional patriarchy while society has a spread misogynistic culture. Politicians in South Korea have a campaign of censorship and constant harassment against Korean feminists.
The whole world must be aware of this and protect Korean women. As a western man I give all my support to Korean women.

This why men are oppressed we need to celebrate international men’s day. Also, don’t say we don’t need it we need to highlight the fact that men have problems to. I’m not saying we shouldn’t celebrate international women’s day just also focus on the problems men face.

@@merymery2624 I wasn’t saying that we shouldn’t celebrate woman’s day I’m just giving my perspective. We should celebrate women’s day but also men’s if we are thinking about true equality then we should make a day for all both genders celebrating our strives and what we still need to work on.

@@eliasmacbeth i know but why men always bring up men's issues when its women's day. Men's day is 10th March and you should talk about it then. Let women enjoy their day and talk about their issues and men can enjoy their day and talk about their issues on men's day.
