Thanks for letting my footage crash your video! Next year, though, you should come and crash the event yourself! The first round of German beer is on me!
Def that Poe HomeKit camera. I’ve been waiting for them to put a system around my house. Also Roborock announced a washer dryer that I hope comes to the US in the next few years. I want them to eventually includes a Roborock dock as the pedestal in future models and I will jump back to them for my robot vacuum. Having all that in one place and not having to run extra drainage and water lines would be perfect for existing plumbing and ease of use/connection.
Interesting, the Aqara bed strap is actually quite old in the Chinese market, many years. I wonder if it’s a new model. Also aqara has like 3 door locks that support HomeKit and also have face recognition. Not sure why this wasn’t mention before.
The switches and display already exist on the Chinese market, according to HomeKitNews. I think it’s just a matter of time before we have an international version.
@felipehjcosta hopefully you’re right. Aqara has a lot of products in the Chinese market that never get sold internationally, which is why I was a little surprised to the EU version of the display. It sure looks great though!
The switchbot adjustable shades sounds interesting, the lockly lock with facial recognition also sounds good if the facial recognition is as good as apples
Hey Shane, Bosch has announced that they won’t be retrofitting existing refrigerators with Matter. They argue that the chips currently installed aren’t sufficient to support Matter, as the requirements, especially for security, are too high. Looks like you’ll need to get the Bosch Matter refrigerator, which was also announced at IFA and is supposedly coming out later this year. Greetings from Germany 💪🏻
That's too bad. They mentioned the refrigerator at the show (launched last year) will get a Matter firmware update, so I was hoping maybe others would too.
Great video Shane! I'm glad to see another water shutoff robot, but I'm concerned where the clamp for the Aqara will connect. If it is on the pipe itself rather than the valve, it could create problems.
I’d love to see a video on the Nanoleaf cubes. You gotta make it to this show one year. Berlin is an amazing city and you’re a short train ride (on fantastic trains) from cities like Prague, Vienna, and more. Plus that conference looks great 😀
So… should I not shy away from Zigbee… Aqara has a lot of great Zigbee stuff (not to mention many other companies); I’ve been trying to stick to thread enabled products to “future proof” my home, but Zigbee seems like it’s not phasing out whatsoever. I just didn’t want a house on split protocols. Matter is not really doing what I’d hoped.
It looks like HomeKit really turning a corner here with all the Matter stuff. Currently I run a lot of "in between" apps in Docker containers (Scrypted, etc) but I would much rather be fully native. Shane, do you think Apple would ever randomly ADD an ethernet port to HomePod mini? I have a 4k Apple TV, but it's not in a spot that I can wire easily, so I would rather have a dedicated HomeKit controller wired in the kitchen.

Sounds like a plan!!

That would be amazing. Don’t care what company or companies put that together they can have my money.
@@8Arachne8 Yea. I forget the company that had a prototype at one of the shows. Really hoping this happens in the next few years.

Logitech Circle View and Eve Outdoor does the same.

Do we have a release date on the outdoor camera?
Looking forward to the garage door opener and the valve shutter from Aqara
Aqara has sure been busy. Some great products for us, looking forward to the reviews.
3:04 writing mistake: RTSP Not RSTP 😉
Good eye! At least I said it right! 😄
Was hoping for updated doorbell cam from Aqara… with better weatherproofing!
I thought for a moment that you had been there and I had missed you 😄
Do you think the Aqara display will come to North America?
Honestly I'd be a little surprised if it did... but then again, I really didn't think it would come to EU either. So who knows.... maybe!

Thanks for watch and for the feedback!
Hopefully one day I’ll get to go to IFA! I haven’t been to Germany since I was 5 years old! 😆
@@ShaneCreates I promise that you will like it more as an adult…
Nano leaf blocks please
Aqara 🎉
Shane, any updates on the Aqara U300 door lock announced at CES?
Nothing specifically from IFA, but last I heard, they are still planning for a 2024 release. 🤞🏼

Poe doorbell too and we’ll be set
aqara camera would be great if the wifi one had just a solar panel for power

Bro dont ask if we want a review, just keep em coming
🫡 lol Will do! I just want to make sure I’m covering the things you want to see! 😜
Interested in a Flic Twist vid
Thanks for the feedback!
Did Aqara abandon their new smart plug? 🥺
I just want a doorbell cam that doesn't disappoint that supports HKSV.
For real
Great tax dodge European Vacay for you and your wife next time Shane. You just HAVE to go to IFA to bring it all to us.
Interesting how Flic is playing other ecosystem LOCKOUT with Matter!
Glad I never bought into them, and I never will!
