No gear drops from criterion normal and savage? Like high item level? I was progging normal for like an hr on the first boss, it was fun but like i need good stuff for spending the time lol
So im not going to do savage since there is no reward from what I heard. I will finish progging Ultimate I'm doing and proceed to clear all savages. But I will not waste time on an over the top thing with only a title as its reward.
So how do the rewards get cashed in? I have dont all 12 paths, the achievement is not unlocked. I cannot talk to any of the npc in Old Sharlayan, Shallow moor, Osmon, ect all give me filler dialogue.
Are they even gonna bother with Blu anymore? Since it's not an actual job like the other casters? Seeing as how they never touched it with previous patches/expansions.
I'm baffled that there's barely any rewards here. They could at least have given 615/620 armor pieces or something to help gear alt jobs, solving a problem we've had for years where it feels like you're locked into playing 1-2 jobs for the even-numbered patches before the gearing opens up and becomes more accessible in the odd-numbered patches. Very disappointed so far.
Agreed, this feels like a feature people have been asking for for most of 14s life, that had a perfect chance to add some midcore rungs to the gear ladder, just thrown away on basically nothing. More hard content that exists just to be hard and offer nothing of value.
Hm why are you locked? The highest content is clearable with the pentamelded crafted 610 gear. Now you get a 615 weapon for doing absolutely nothing too. So locked how? What is it you want to do that requires you to have i630 gear on every single character? The ultimate BiS is from last tier. The next Ultimate will likely require next tier not this one. There is absolutely nothing else.
@@Theheadless1858 Party finder ilvl restrictions at 618, 620, 625, etc. preventing me from playing anything except my main job. Additionally, I can't help but feel I'm handicapping my party for P8S prog if I'm min ilvl (610) on a healer or DPS this far into the patch, it would just feel awful if we fail to clear phase 1 because I'm at only entry ilvl. This also means I'm not feeling very motivated to hop on a second job, knowing that all of my progression has gone into a different role. Of course, it's not mandatory to have anything above minimum ilvl, but it doesn't feel great at all. Ask yourself this, why so many restrictions? This is one of the few MMOs out there right now where 1 character can equip every class, but with no way to actually prepare more than 1 with high ilvl gear for nearly half a year. Why not use the strengths of the existing job system to allow players more freedom of choice? It feels contradictory to allow for every job to be easily accessed, while simultaneously preventing us from gearing said jobs in an effective manner.
I mean this is just starting and the ff14 team is not sure if this content would be received well. If it flopped and they wasted time designing gear for what would be a one off then that is resources wasted. If the hype remains after the initial week, the team may consider giving us gear then. The most important thing will be to give feedback
Seriously lacking in Gear rewards to help gear Alt Jobs! Something we seriously need! Not ANOTHER Materia farming structure this'll end up being once people get the rewards they want, but even then there are plenty of better options for farming materia imo.
My plan for Variant is to do that exclusively solo so I can enjoy the story. I am hoping that Variant is not a pre-req for criterion and I can jump in to Criterion right away to work toward getting in Savage while it is still new
Did the 1st Variant solo. It was fun enough. Looked at the rewards...just awful. Litterally looks like Mog Station Leftovers or something. Doubt I'll spend time on them.
Am I the only one? I love hearing Cole’s voice even if he yawn 🤣🤣🤣 Great video as usual, waiting for your savage guide! And dude, take some rest please
I like his voice but the yawning not once but twice was annoying af. Try to at least APPEAR like you care about production quality? At least a little? Smdh
So the normal mode ain’t worth clearing and the savage mode is for tryhards coo I’ll keep that in mind. What bothers me the most is that I’m positive they will add more rewards that gated behind these dungeons since their here to stay. While assuming that I’m positive the next sellable hairstyle will be locked behind the criterion dungeons normal or savage. They could’ve gave 615 - 620 ilvl gear for completing normal and 630 ilvl gear for you hard runners but instead they choose “ Disappointment”.
@@celphalonred1999 That was my headspace going into it. I wasn't expecting 630 gear since I have Purgatory gear to hold me over for now. I mostly just want the two mounts, my title, and trenchcoat :3
"I spent 2 hours to do this, and im just making this video to get views, "i dont really know" "Im not sure how this works" *im yawning because I woke up early in the morning to do this for views"
So you're mad I got views and did a video for pennies to spread information? Ok then bud. Also I didn't say I don't really know or I'm not sure how this works once, because I literally was in the content doing it and I do know how it works so that's really interesting. Also pretty sure you liked your own comment.
I couldn't care less ahout em, i like content, and hard content not to mention, i dont care about fluttery rainbow crap rewards, its new and fun so imma do it, it's a big W in my book.
Man I was looking forward to these and they really just suck. Variants are cool if you like NPC interactions and all that, but they're incredibly boring to anybody who doesn't. Being forced to wait for NPC to catch up or finish dialogue and forced into single pack pulling with no way to speed the dungeons up. It's essentially waiting for somebody's cutscene after every trash pack, nobody wanted that or enjoys it as far as I'm aware. Criterion is cool in that they give us more hard content, but it really just feels like an alliance raid that has you play deep dungeons between each boss. On top of that it rewards the player with no loot at all, completely ignoring the massive issue with gearing alt jobs taking months. Imo this was a huge failure, probably the worst patch I've experienced since I started playing the game. I just don't understand why they decided to put dev time into something that nobody asked for rather than a new ultimate, new extremes or even Bozja duel style solo savage content (without the garbage entry requirements of course). This is going to be something I do one time, probably at a much later date because there's no reason to do it now, then buy the mount of MB and hope it turns into one of the many forgotten and neglected modes within the game.
So I had more fun in the few hours I've done variant / criterion dungeons than I have in a good while, genuinely pleased with this content!
Same, reminds me of FF12 dungeons
What's the reward for completing the savage version? 🤔
A title from the achievement, idk if there is more
A big middle finger from Yoshi P
a whole lot of nothing
@@usaginepnep9105 Apparently you get books that you can trade for an earring, materia x, or a furniture item… So yeah, sounds about right 🤡
You can get an item that allows you to upgrade the visuals of the 660 weapons glow.

Btw what the reward for doing this quest and the dungeon? New gear or glamour?
No new gear worth item levels, but there are a lot of glam pieces, materia, some housing stuff, some portrait thing and mounts :D
