  • What's going on UA-cam? Six5Rider here, welcome back to the channel!
In this video, we'll be reviewing the Harley Davidson Tall Shock as it sits on the 2020 Softail Street Bob. I installed the monoshock a couple of months ago and have been really enjoying the ride. The ride is so much more comfortable compared to the stock shock on the Street Bob.

110% better with lowrider shock, vs my (2020 fxst) shock. Thanks for the post on facebook group for this idea,

Hello! I'm an FXBB owner from China, and it just so happens that I recently got a fatboy shock. The fatboy's shock can support to be adjusted externally, but I have to change the battery side of the fatboy's housing, and then I found out that the exhaust pipe will catch the adjustment valve. I'm still in the process of further modifications, your video is very inspiring, thanks!

Hey six5 thanks for the info. Would you recommend the harley shock or after-market shock? Definitely would change out the mono shock.

Thanks for watching … if you can score a deal on one of these I’d go for that. Otherwise there’s a lot of good aftermarket options out there like Ohlins, Fox, progressive etc

You remember if you had to adjust your belt after putting the new shock in? Fixing to do this myself.
EDIT: Nevermind, I saw in the comments of your install video you didn't. Stay safe out there!

I did not have to adjust it.
Check out my install video if you need reference.

Hey six5, just curious as a 6'3 guy looking at Street Bobs, how do you like the bike overall? and would you choose a different option knowing what you know now?

Hey first of all thank you for watching I really appreciate the support.
So, personally I have a love/ hate relationship with the Street Bob. It’s such a good all around motorcycle, but it does have its downsides. For me specifically, I have become a firm believer that I’m just too big for the Softail frame in general - being 6’5” 265lbs.
Let’s start with the love - I love the street Bob because it’s literally a blank canvass. It’s so stripped down from the get go, that it allows you to build it how you truly want to. You want to go club style? Nice! Add a fairing 2-1 exhaust, step up seat and some Tbars? Want cholo? Sure go right ahead, want a bobber? Perfect! it’s already stripped down go ahead an Bob it out lol.
The street Bob is such an easy bike to ride, it’s one of those Harley’s that you can just jump on and go, good for city riding, twisty’s and highway (just make sure to throw on a fairing) it’s so flickable and gets decent power. Speaking about power, I bought mine 2 months before HD released the 114, had I known I probably would’ve waited.
Ok now that the goods are out of the way, let’s talk bads … size, again, for me its such a small bike … No ABS, no dual disc brakes, no inverted forks, no cruise control, tiny tank …. What am I actually paying $15k+ for?
So to answer your original question, knowing what I know today, would I buy it again? ….. short and sweet answer is probably not. If I’m already forking that dollar amount, what’s another 3k to go for a Low Rider S? You get so much more for the money …. Bigger motor, factory fairing, bigger fuel tank, factory cruise control, dual disc brakes, taller suspension, ABS, inverted forks, etc.
If I had all the money in the world to have multiple bikes, sure I’d have a Street Bob in my garage. Great bike if you’re looking for a Blank Canvass and simplicity and to rip around town.
Sorry for the long winded answer. I’ll def be making a video soon about my 10k+ mile thoughts of this bike.
Thanks again for watching, hope I didn’t deter you from your decision.

@@Six5Rider thank you for the thorough reply!!! It helps my decision a lot honestly! It’s been a this or move up to a bagger that can be a bit more sprawled out. Just annoying to have to fork over that much more money just because we are tall. Hahaha
Keep up the great channel! Your videos are great!

    • @Six5Rider

Thank you for the kind words.
Yes, I feel the same way, I want a bagger so badly, but it’s so hard to justify the cost + the additional cost of all the mods to make it your own. Motorcycling sure is an expensive hobby … especially when you’re tall haha

Is a 2020 low rider S shock the same as you put on ?

    • @Six5Rider
      @Six5Rider  Рік тому

      Hey thanks for watching.
I don’t believe so, I think the Low Rider S has the standard length shock while the ST one is the “tall” version with higher spring rate. You can tell the difference by the label .. the ST says “Tall” on it while the regular one says “std”
