Kids of moms who’s husbands cheat always suffer because they witness first hand how their mom suffers. Moms suffering due to being cheated on is so hard for kids. It takes so much positive energy from being spent on the kid. To then have the dad flaunting the new girl in public would be devastating for the mom to see, causing more suffering, which ultimately puts more negativity on the kid to bear.
The humiliation that the kids are going through at school is so sad. People should stay with their spouses until the kids are 18, unless there is abuse. Selfish immature adults who leave their spouses and young kids are wrong and going to hell.

I have two grandparents who as children both watched their fathers leave their mothers. I'm not a psychologist, but it's very clear that the trauma has affected multiple generations. We can trace back a lot of family traits such as anger, passive aggressiveness, gender favoritism, etc. Our grandparents had to adopt unhealthy coping mechanisms in order to survive. Unfortunately these were passed down to our parents, and in turn our parents passed these traits down to us, with new ones of their own as well. There are the numerous broken marriages, tumultuous relationships. Not knowing how to have a healthy relationship. Not knowing how to communicate. And in our generation, a lot of us are not getting married and having children. I can say that TJ Holmes is leaving his daughter quite a legacy. He might not know his grandchildren or great grandchildren, but they will know him well by the fruits of his actions. He will live on in them through the trauma inheritance he gave his wife and daughter.

I think these guys are totally off the mark with how the whole situation will affect the kids. It’s one thing to see your parents split up. It’s another thing to see it play out in media and your dad strutting around with his new lady all smiles. Kids usually take the divorce of a parent personally. They will wonder what did they do wrong? Some kids will believe the parent who leaves no longer loves them. That in itself is a lot. If TJ and Amy are truly in love and they intend to be together they should have given more thought to their children. As it stands now they have set themselves up for a lot of resentment and anger from their children. They may learn to accept the situation but most likely, they will harbor a lot of bitterness. I have two grandparents who as children both watched their fathers leave their mothers. I'm not a psychologist, but it's very clear that the trauma has affected multiple generations. We can trace back a lot of family traits such as anger, passive aggressiveness, gender favoritism, etc. Our grandparents had to adopt unhealthy coping mechanisms in order to survive. Unfortunately these were passed down to our parents, and in turn our parents passed these traits down to us, with new ones of their own as well. There are the numerous broken marriages, tumultuous relationships. Not knowing how to have a healthy relationship. Not knowing how to communicate. And in our generation, a lot of us are not getting married and having children. I can say that TJ Holmes is leaving his daughter quite a legacy. He might not know his grandchildren or great grandchildren, but they will know him well by the fruits of his actions. He will live on in them through the trauma inheritance he gave his wife and daughter.

I think these guys are totally off the mark with how the whole situation will affect the kids. It’s one thing to see your parents split up. It’s another thing to see it play out in media and your dad strutting around with his new lady all smiles. Kids usually take the divorce of a parent personally. They will wonder what did they do wrong? Some kids will believe the parent who leaves no longer loves them. That in itself is a lot. If TJ and Amy are truly in love and they intend to be together they should have given more thought to their children. As it stands now they have set themselves up for a lot of resentment and anger from their children. They may learn to accept the situation but most likely, they will harbor a lot of bitterness.
