Thank for appreciation on our temple. As same as many SE Asia countries and Bharat, we can make its since we own the culture and heritage. Indonesia and Vietnam could maintain their own one well as same as we did in the other sites that built by Ancient Thai people. The reason that we build this temple is because we want to track back to our root as same as Bharat that want to build the new temple. We know that we develop the architecture and culture a lot time by time and we could track back to our original design anytime we want. I think you could be stunning by detail that Buddhist pattern on the Stone temple that is different style from Sri Lanka and you could not find this style in Cambodia or they can't even build the new one. By the way, don't worry about the funding, it is not pure government project or some authority or company funding purely. It is funding of all sectors with people volunteering to help craving the stones so it cost less than you expected a lot in reality that is what Thai people always do.

I noticed this when booking my trip to Thailand and Cambodia, and let me just say that the Cambodian people absolutely stole my heart. Wish I spent more time in Siem Reap, Thailand is wonderful don't get me wrong. But Cambodia has a rustic feel, a rich history, and the most welcoming people I've met. Don't settle, visit Angkor Wat. I'll make it back when the time is right and hopefully stick around till they give me the boot

The Khmer people like to claim everything in Thailand for this style of building. Hindu temples are found everywhere in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Indonesia. They often mislead foreigners that everything art, culture and architecture - Khmer is of origin despite the fact that it is a shared culture with cultural roots in India, but Khmer people often claim that they own the culture. In the case of Phu Man Fa Temple, Thailand simply rebuilt ancient Hindu temples using ancient Indian art and architecture, but they tried to protest that Thailand copied them. Previously, the Khmer Ministry of Culture had requested to inspect the temple and had written confirmation that it did not imitate Angkor Wat (we were sincere and therefore consented to the Khmer Ministry of Culture inspecting), but the Khmer people still did not accept the result. @@cambodianpleasuresquad1753 it’s doesn’t matter where we came from. The point is the culture is not your, it’s belongs to India. Angkor wat is not Khmer. Angkor Wat is a symbol of ancient Tamil Indian architecture and art. The Khmers were only savage people brought by the Tamils as laborers to build Angkor Wat. This is the reason why after the Khmer ancestors overthrew the Jayavarman dynasty and proclaimed themselves kings, they did not build sandstone temples again, which they claimed was their architecture. That was because they were not the real owners and therefore did not know how to build a sandstone temple. Don't just create a new one. Repairing existing ones such as Angkor Wat or Angkor Thom is not possible. Had to ask the Thai and Indian governments to come and repair it. This is the reason why people in Southeast Asia call Khmer people Claimbodia.

Khmer's DNA doesn't have DNA of Ancient Mon (Khom), Ti-ka-dai and India. Khmer DNA are included African and Indonesian. They are not the original people on this Mainland. But Thai people have DNA of Ancient Mon mostly in SEA and including with Tai-Ka-dai and India. You can search Khmer DNA analysis in Google.

There's certainly something to be said for a version of Angkor Wat that we don't have to treat like an ancient ruin and that hasn't been overrun by destructive banyan trees. I wish it were in Cambodia and it will never replace the original, but I'm glad it exists.
If they really wanted to make an appropriate copy/tribute/replica/whatever you want to call it, though, they shouldn't have chosen poured concrete. The Khmer managed to build what they did with real stone using manpower and elephants, and yet with such supposedly-better technology they can't seem to even make a temple of the same quality. Because of that I imagine it's more a vanity project (as you suggest) than true religious devotion.
I am suggesting it is a vanity project, only in the sense of how was it funded. To be fair, it is not poured concrete in its majority. It is actually cut stone blocks, and that is why I gave it such a high estimate as to costs for construction. It is not really a copy of Angkor Wat, but it does have similarities. But then again, so the m many other temples in India. It is a very strange building to try and define as it falls between so many different categories. Ah, then I misunderstood and thought it was made with a combination of poured concrete and concrete blocks. If it's actually cut stone then I retract the criticism and am quite impressed.
The whole edifice does strike me as a bit... blocky? Soviet-era? ...right now, but at this early stage of construction that's not unusual. Looking forward to seeing it once they add the intricate carvings, especially to the three main towers.

Because what you should know is that Angkor Wat is the youngest of any stone castle in Thailand, being only 800 years old. But the stone castle called Phanom Rung temple in Thailand is 1100 years old. and a stone castle named Phimai temple in Thailand that is 1300 years old. Recently, archaeologists have studied and found that there is an ancient city named Si Thep temple in Thailand that is 1700 years old. So you should know the truth by now. that The carvings you see on the walls of Angkor Wat are very new and the ancient skeletons are older. 3000 years old discovered in Thailand in the area of those rock castles. The paleontologist has examined and found that The DNA matches current Thai people but does not match Cambodian people at all. That is the reason why Angkor Wat Temple belonged to Thailand from the beginning. Because we prove from evidence that during the founding of Angkor Wat, Thai people were the ruling class, called "Khrome" and used indigenous people in the area as laborers to build Angkor Wat, which were called "Khmer" before it was Overthrown by slaves and then driven out because Khrome became weak.

Mr. B, the idea behind this temple construction in Thailand is to cripple Cambodia tourist industries. However, tourists all over the world, they want to see the ancient builders, not the modern builders with modern technologies. It does not have the same values. You can visit the Angkor Wat replica in Chheang Rai, Thailand, it was built recently and abandoned, the same will go with this temple replica. A copy of one country national icon without permission is equivalent to a thief. Tourists are very intelligent, they done their homework before exploring the ancient sites, they are more interested and intrigued in the ancient civilizations. Great work, Mr. B.
I can’t really comment. I went to the site because of course it is the Temple, the most controversial Temple. Whether it is wrong or right, it’s not for me to say and I do not attempt to do so. I just look at it as a temple, and as such, I must pay some level of respect. I would be a fool to walk into a foreign land and pass judgement. Recently, there was a Cambodian man or tour guide visit the museum in France. He was showing and explaining about the replica of Bayon temple but the guy was in shock because the replica of Bayon written as "Siam" rather than "Cambodia".

That's because you barely know HISTORY, Siems were indeed pirates they roamed around Southeast Asia then found an adaptive area ( apart in the Khmer empire) they reproduce people then more people which is detrimental, King Jayvaraman the 7th (I believe) saw this as a thread then try ways to remove siems-however, it was a massive failure. The word Siem translates to English meaning "black or brown" defining that Siems were a black sheep in that land. When the king died there were conflicts inside of the country so Siems took it as an opportunity to surge. There are three main wars with Siems, first, from 1353-1357. Second, from 1394-1401, where Siems won with tricks taking the massive population of cambodians as a result why many general Thais are related to Khmer people, furthermore, having cultural similarities. Third, 1420-1421, the Khmers were dwindling their population while the Siems were thriving in their country. The fact that you try to prove a point with ignorance is hysterical, you shouldn't laugh at us- you should laugh at yourself for not knowing basic knowledge.

Thailand is definitely copying it. They tried for centuries to take Angkor Wat, in one incident, a Thai King at that time had a group of soldiers go to Cambodia and literally try to take apart Angkor Wat. They were massacred by some Khmer living in the forest. So the Thai King end up having a replica of Angkor Wat made in his palace, now fast forward to the future, they are building a copy of a bigger one. By the way, Thais were never Hindus. Khmer were, then converted to Buddhism. Today's Cambodia Buddhism has some mixture/elements of Hinduism and Shamanism.

But the fact that Khmer said it’s their culture due to that fact that the Khmer Empire was the dominant power in the region for so long and build so many monuments and that they see that Thailand is building something similar will hurts their heart. In the past, Angkor Wat belonged to the Thai-Siamese, later colonial era. The French had seized Cambodia from Siam, with clear evidence that Battambang, Si Sophon, and Siem Reap had previously belonged to Siam. That means Siam built Angkor Wat.

Connecting the dots, I am pretty sure the Siamese came down south to south east asia in the 12-13 century because they were fleeing the Mongols. Who wouldn't? The Mongols just conquered and took over China, most of Asia, and even head westward.
Coming down south the Siamese saw how advanced the Khmers were so they would starting copying the Khmer arts, warrior's art that they now call muay thai, culture, and even the old Khmer alphabet. When the Khmer empire became weak from lack of rain due to climate change, they saw an opportunity, invaded, and took many of the dancers, intellectuals back to Siam to learn and copy some more.

Funny that Angkor wat was built by the Varmans who came from Phimai, which is today Thailand. Thai people in Phimai have been living here for centuries and they look nothing like Chinese. None of them calls themselves Cambodian. They either call themselves Thai or Khom lol

Khom is the Thai word for lowland Khmer krom . In Thai language the Khmer was dropped and it just became Khom. This is just basic information that’s readily accessible online.

Angkor wat was built 11-12 century,they used elephants to drag stones and built and carved by hand.Thai built angkor style 2023 used machinery to carried stones and cut,trim everything with machines.Cambodia right now is still poor,when they have money,they can used machinery to built a new angkor wat too.People around the world can do it too,now we have technology,grinders,machinery and robots can built in 3 or4 years.

You should go visit "PIMAI" a stone temple in Pimai district of Nakorn Ratchasima(Korat) it the 1st temple that had built in BAYON STYLE, the same style of ANKOR WAT, but it's 200 yrs older than ANKOR WAT so who owned the BAYON STYLE TEMPLE, before PIMAI everything was built in PAPUAN STYLE.

And it was no such thing as Kmer Empire, this was make up by France historian, the people that built ANKOR should be called KHOM EMPIRE, Kmer were only the servants that the Indian bought from some island in Indonesia( proved by DNA test).
And later on the Kmer had revoked and assassinated King SURYAVARMAN IX(last king of KHOM) and killed most of the Khom and change the name SIEM RATH (land of Siem) to SIEM REAP(no more Siem) then established their own nation , but not an empire.
So the empire that was there was the KHOM EMPIRE but the French just wip off the name KHOM and replaced it with KHMER.
After the Khom moved out of these land it was never been any stone temple building in these land.

The dynasty that built Angkor Wat came from Phimai. The Chenla era came from Sri Thep. Later it came from Sriwichai in the southern part of Thailand. First of all, we must look into an interpretation of the words "Khom" and "Khmer" These two words are made to believe that they are one by the French and Cambodian but Thailand. The Khom was mentioned by Burmese, Yunnanese (whether Tai or not), Mon etc. the Khom empire was originally prosperous in the Chao Praya River plain, the empire comprised multiple nationalities e.g. Mon, Lava, Siamese, Khmer(perhaps) etc. khom was a cultural model stock of people of different race even with its center was at Lavo aka Lopburi today which was in fact the starting civilisation of Ayutthaya Kingdom.. Khom has been moved towards the east somehow perhaps from the interpretation similar to Khmer Krom or Low land Khmer. The Krom and Khom were made similar and used to pinpoint Khmer land or Srok Khmer. Such a dispute is not yet brought to the open for fair discussion. One thing happened was Khmer people did not know the word "Khom" before until lately and Khom alphabet was not the same as Khmer alphabet. Between Khom and Khmer alphabets there was also Khom Thai alphabet which was adopt from original Khom alphabet and widely used in Siam until 80 years ago it was replaced be SukhoThai alphabet. Until the "Khom" is revealed the problem of arts and culture of the ancient Khom civilisation will be revealed. Then realisation will be perceived.

I don't understand why if someone believes that Thailand copied from Cambodia, you should learn more about Cambodian folk history than the universal history discovered through international evidence and documents.
Yes they are copying Cambodia, the design on some of the wall exactly the same as the design on the wall of angkor wat, in Cambodia, and don't get me wrong they even make the four hallway near each other.
