Thanks for the tutorial, very easy to follow. Your English is excellent! Just a note, OpenSSH defaults to SFTP since v9.0, which the SSH server shipped in the stock firmware does not support. Use the `-O` flag with the `scp` command to force the SCP protocol.
I did copy and later commands. Router restarted like yours and light is blue on router. I have connected internet cable to router and computer. Connection seems okay but I cannot connect to router ip address, and cannot ping it. What is the problem?
Hi! OpenWrt 23.05.4 version got support for Xiaomi AX3000T. Does it make the OpenWrt installation process easier? I decided that from the Xiaomi interface it is enough to select the ... -initramfs-factory.ubi file as a manual update. But .ubi is not supported. Please help me to figure it out. Thanks!
When copying a file, open another terminal (or cmd) and copy, because running scp command from connected terminal(cmd) to router will not be possible. So you need to copy from new window.

I've just bought the international version of the xiaomi ax3000t which doesn't have the dual wan option in the settings. Will it be possible and how to unlock this on the globa version? I've already tried to select anothers region near to china (it blocks you and don't show China for you to choose) and I got nothing :( Last month I've received through aliexpress the chinese version but it didn't work so I asked for refound and now I bought the global version :(
i follow your instructions but when i follow boot stock firmware it doesn't work anymore it doesn't provide dhcp ans its orange light randomly blinking 😢 i try set static ip it doesn't work
After I reboot it can no longer assign IPs. DCHP server is not working. So I can't even connect via ssh anymore. Any ideas on that? I've tried to connect it to my main router as DHCP client and my DHCP server assignes an IP to AX3000T, but I cant ssh into it, connection was refused.
Sorry to hear. I'm surprised a router does not provide DHCP. if it receives an IP from the main router, why don't you connect a computer to the main router and try opening AX3000T web console via that IP? though I'm not sure if the http service listens on the WAN port or not.
@@john666mactavish i tried but no success. in the end (I dont really know how but) i managed to perform a hard reset and restored the stock firmware. and got DHCP working again. maybe the problem was the snapshot version (19/02/2024) i flashed yesterday. i believe i'm going to wait for a stable version
to anyone that may are facing the same issue I found the solution. After installing OpenWrt the port immediately next to the power input becomes the WAN port and the rest are the LAN ports. As I was not aware of this fact I was connecting the router to my PC via the WAN port, so it was not assigning a local IP. Another thing worth to mention is that the official snapshot versions of OpenWrt do not come with Luci pre-installed. So you have to do it manually: opkg update opkg install luci

I just successfully downgraded to 0.47. just connect to the web interface (unfortunately in chinese) and do like in the video to upload an image manually. There's no security preventing you to do that with an older image.
I accidentally updated to latest before I could get ssh into box. I connected this to a laptop with tftp and dhcp and pressed reset button for 15 seconds. Then check for the file it request and renamed .47 firmware into that. Next time I pressed reset button for 15 secs it took that firmware and installed it. This process is documented on openwrt site also.
Fortunately you can by just simply editing the url when the error message about downgrade comes, you just need to set the parameter « downgrade=1 » to « downgrade=2 » (and if it’s 0, replace with 1)
When I want to upload the openwrt image to the router in the tmp directory I always get the error message /usr/bin/dbclient: Warning: failed creating /root/.ssh: Read-only file system
Hi @johnmactavish1715, can you help me to downgrade from v1.0.64 to v1.0.47? it is not able to downgrade. I changed the number at the end of url from 1 to 2 but it warned me that the firmware file does not exist.

you only need internet to download the firmware, you don't need internet to install Openwrt

I guess It is impossible for now to downgrade to 1.0.47 (2 months later) because the router is delivered with 1.0.64 as default OS
