- Lakita looked like skin and bones when she was found on a trash bag outside a house in Kentucky. She was taken in by MisPits and Friends Rescue. 8 months later, she’s a completely different dog!

What got me was the sheer defeat and sadness in the dogs eyes at the beginning. I find myself truly hating people because we are the only animals that exercise such cruelty...but then I remind myself that there are good people like this woman.
Indeed. Humans are the absolute worst. We do not deserve animals. They are too innocent and pure for our tainted spirits. The Earth would be happy to rid itself of us.

The pit mix I rescued did smell like death, cause part of her neck was rotten.
Sometime earlier she had an imbedded collar that someone had removed. The collar left a wound going around her neck, but one area was specifically bad that was covered with ticks and maggots. Bout an inch long deep. Could put your thumb inside the hole and she wouldn't even know it.
Then on top of this it's out in the country, we have no animal control AND she was shy of people.
So I was coaxing her with food and cleaning the wound with water and Epsom salt I made at home.
Took me 7 weeks just to get her near my car. 7 weeks I spent dumping her food and filling her bucket up with 2 gallons of water, everyday.
What was chilling was when one day her water bucket was gone and she didn't drag it anywhere. Someone took it. I drove home to get another and her bucket was back.
Someone actually took her bucket to their house to fill it up with water and brought it back to her.
So quite a bit of people was helping her.
Got her to a shelter and then spent 8 weeks finding her a home.
She's now living on a farm. I couldn't keep her cause she was 6 months old and too active for the seniors that live with me. I.E. they get hurt far too easily.
Παύλος Κ You're making a huge assumption vs someone who had 1st hand knowledge. When in starvation mode, the body starts consuming and "eating" itself, first fat, then muscles, then organs. Every breath emits an odor of this consumption.
Bless this woman’s heart. And bless that beautiful angels heart for sticking it out and thriving finally. And bless the people who adopted her. When he called Kita their “fur queen” I cried. It’s always sad to see the before but so rewarding to see the after. I absolutely love this.

Kita had the saddest eyes I have ever seen. Even with her foster mama when she said “awe, your sad, you need your forever home.” That woman truly connects with dogs because she was right again! Kita was a happy butterfly at her new home with her big and little peeps.

The expression on her sad face is priceless: What exactly did I do wrong to deserve this??? It’s quite simply amazing what lots of TLC can do to an animal that had lost faith in humanity.

I broke down when the lady said, "the dog looked defeated." that's the saddest thing in the world to me, and a sad truth for so many pit bulls. luckily, Kita got her happy ending. :)

Seeing het run around playing with toys and at the end getting her furever home warmed my mom to see.
It sucked to see that they found her on someone's prouch laying on trash. Now look at her now. Laying in a bed and full of love and happiness like you can't tell she's been through heck.

If you thought this was bad go check out the channel ANIMAL TV. It is from another country,(perhaps Phillipines?) and I can watch these fine but over there...that's a WHOLE different ballgame. The suffering of THOSE dogs is on a different level all together.
Animals all over the world are treated like rodents. Used up, abused and tossed aside like trash. The most horrific things are being done to dogs in other countries.
Another one, Victor Larkhill from Greece and Hope for Paws from L.A. if I remember correctly. These (The Dodo) are made fluffy in the end to suck us in and that is cushioning the blow, so to speak. There is so much worse that humans do to helpless creatures. And we call THEM the animals.

Kita looks very much like my little doggie who died on Wednesday morning. Pitties are the best and most loyal and loving. So glad she found a forever home.

That dog is freakin adorable!! I have a hard time watching stories like this, but I can bare through it knowing there's a happy ending! What's heartbreaking is how many out there never get that happy ending. Just kills me. I have one similar to Kita with her own sad story, but she's with us now and doesn't have to worry about being alone or unloved ever again.

Every family, every kid should have a pit bull. Honestly, they are some of the sweetest creatures on the planet.
When I decided to adopt a dog from a local shelter I went in with an open mind. Only prerequisite for me was to have a connection. Going up and down, looking in cages. Came to one and this big ole puppy pit was sitting on the bed on the other side of the cage. She looked in my eyes, got up and came over to me. At that point I knew she was ours.
That big ole puppy turned into a big ole dog. She’s just as sweet 7 years later as she was when we adopted her. Less rambunctious because she’s not a puppy.
This broke my heart. So sweet and adorable cute doggo! Thank you so much for rescuing her!
