Susan Hall was not up to the task. I saw her interviews, she was a poor candidate. If the tories had put up a serious candidate they might have had more chance of getting Khan out. Besides the office of mayor should have a time limit, or just get rid of it.

I live in London and never heard a word from the Tories. No flyers through the door, no advertising on billboards, as well as nothing online, in social media. Had I not been independently interested, I would never have heard of Susan Hall!

The notion that a poor candidate will deliver a 3% swing in favour of a candidate that would otherwise have lost is nonsense. Given the unpopularity of the government a better candidate would just have led to a less comfortable win for Khan, which is of course why the only people who would stand against him were those so hopeless that losing on a ballot was better than obscurity.
