this performance is how they usually do it, singing live but with backup vocals in the MR but you can definitely hear them and the people that were in the show said that their mics were super loud
That's great to hear about the mic levels! That is so difficult to get right - especially with Tae's.
I think this is the best live sound I've heard from them in a long time on a show like this. Like all their mica where perfect, maby turn up hope a little bit more and it would be the best I've seen in years
On the Spotify version of the song it's sometimes difficult to distinguish the members voices because of all the digital effects put on them but during this performance I could hear each unique voice clearly. I think it sounded BETTER. Yes, the production team for Corden did a fantastic job with the levelling. Best live sound I've heard from them on US TV.

yes... i listened to it well and i can totally hear their vocals more than the backing vocals. it means their mics are louder or u can hear them trully sings live.

그 좁고 생라이브 밴드 반주에 마이크 음향등 상황이 다 최악이라는 그 무대에서도 작은시,맠드뢉 퍼포까지 완벽했고 그래서 더 인정 받았죠~
데뷔때부터 어지간한 사정 아님 다 라이브 해왔고 사람이다보니 실수하고 불안하던 때도 있지만 가수라는 본업에 충실하려고 러닝머신 달리면서 노래하고 안무연습 하면서도 실전처럼 노래하고 몸을 움직이면서 성대 쓰는 방법을 다시 배워 익히고..그 많은 큰 콘서트들 해오면서 그렇게 피땀눈물 흘려가며 다지고 다져온 실력인거죠.
립싱크라며 안티들이 까내리면 오히려 했던 무대의 해당 방송.시상식.주요 신문등에서 라이브라고 인증해줬을 정도ㅡ
본인들이 직접 박자 다르게 부르거나,
목소리나 톤 다르게 부르거나 아예 마이크 내리고 안부르기도 하며 라이브 인증을 하기도 하고요ㅋ스웩 넘칩니다ㅋ
안그래도 어렵고 고음 투성인 곡들에다
과격한 퍼포까지 하면서 라이브로 저정도로 한다는게 진짜 대단한거죠
그러기위해 하루 열시간 이상을 계속 무한반복 연습하면서 지금까지도 변치않고 노력해왔으니..안이뻐할수가 없어요😢

탄이들 한국에서도 항상 라이브였어요. 전에 악플러들이 립싱이라고 온갖욕할때 슈가가 방송중간에 노래부르다 마이크 띠고 가만히 서서 목소리 안나오는거 확인시켜줬을 정도였음. 특히나 미국은 라이브가 방송원칙입니다.

방탄은 초기부터 항상 라이브했습니다 그래서 점점 더 실력이 느는거 같아요
2017년빌보드때도 라이브너무잘해서 립싱크아니냐는 말나왔는데 빌보드에서 직접 라이브였다고 밝혔죠
맞아요 그리고 점점 갈수록 라이브 잘 소화하려고 거기에 맞게 안무를 짜고 음원을 만든 면서 진화해 나가는게 눈에 보여요 그게 팀의 조합이라면 그것조차 실력이라 여겨져서 어쩌면 방탄이 넘사벽인 이유인듯 싶어요 진짜 누구 하나 빠지면 구멍이 커요,,,, 그게 다른 구룹이랑 큰 차이,, 또 그걸 엄청 활용을 잘 하는듯 하고요 실력도 있지만 지혜로운 팀임

그때 안티들이 계속 립싱크라고 난리치니까 영국에서까지 라이브라고 인증해줬죠ㅎ
2017 ama에서 립싱크냐는 말이 나왔던건 그럴만 했던 게, 무대 내내 관객석 아미들 환호성 소리가 너무 커서 퍼포먼스 소리가 묻힐 정도였어요. 그래서 송출하는 과정에서 방송사가 현장 소리를 아예 줄여버리면서 멤버들 목소리도 같이 줄어들었는데, 거기다 음악을 덮어씌워버림;; 들어보면 멤버들 실제 목소리는 밑에 깔리는 수준으로 음악이 커요. 결론은 음악 소리가 멤버들 목소리를 덮을 정도로 클 뿐 라이브는 평소대로 하고 있음ㅠㅠ
음원보다 라이브가 더 좋아요.
방탄은 어느 노래든 라이브가 방탄 본연의 음색이 더 잘 나와서 라이브가 더 좋더라고요.

their choreo is just beautiful. they're getting better and better at exceeding our expectations and there's no limit to bts talent. The studio recording has a kind of faraway, muffled quality that makes each singer less distinct. The fact that you can clearly distinquish everyone in their part...plus you can hear the syllabants...tells me that it's live. They have worked so hard to establish that stable vocal quality! It's 🤯.

I love how you said there's no way they've gotten this far based on pure luck, yes ARMY has helped along the way, but it's their sheer talent that has cemented them as world class artists. I think its really live because you can heard members voice. There are add vocal who are not live but its on the background. Its to put more effects i think.

Excellent reaction, I loved your commentary! And yes, you can tell that they sang live bc of the lack of autotune (which was used in their official recorded version) and the breathing you could hear behind the notes they sang.
BTS never lip-sync at any American TV or music shows, also in Korea as well (of course there are back vocals but they are still singing live). We are proud of their stable live vocals so plz don't questions them again.
You don't know how hostile the U.S. typically is to non-English languages. So it is pretty interesting to see this k-pop band singing mostly in Korean on an American tv show.

They perform live all the time sometimes with minimal background vocals or none at all(especially at concerts) and that's what makes them impressive bc they never slack even though they're 7 years into their careers. And this song really talks about the pain of them potentially losing their passion for music and that's what real artists are like, you can't fake that.

They are the first to dance barefoot on american tv and it’s the first time performing “Black Swan” with the choreography. I don’t know anyone else but it gives me fake love & blood sweat tears vibes. This is their third time being on his show, their debut appearance/performance was “DNA” on top of playing Flinch game and the second time appearance/performance “Fake Love”. Our guys came out like the seven swan bosses they are taking everyone’s wigs but also made everybody worry about JHope during the performance b/c he was accidentally kicked on the top of the ear & head by Yoongi & Taehyung but he didn’t break focus from dancing and they felt really apologetic towards him afterwards. Luckily, he is okay 👌 Tae did a vlive chat with JHope & RM right after they gotten back to the hotel. The Hide & Seek game they played was hilariously adorable which I felt so bad for jimin, jin and JK for being man handled by Ashton Kutcher but James walked all the way back to set holding Suga & Taehyung hand. *Regarding the Grammys, BTS became the first ever SOUTH KOREAN KPOP GROUP to perform on the grammys stage because the collaboration they did with Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus and Mason Ramsey performing “Old Town Road”.
THERE HAVE BEEN SOME AMERICAN STAGES THAT DONE SETUPS LIKE THIS AND OTHERS HAVENT BUT FOR THIS PARTICULAR STAGE IT IS THE FIRST TIME ON A AMERICAN TALK SHOW.
You can always tell they are singing live as there is a slight difference in Jins voice.

Those live captions are for deaf or hard of hearing. It’s all done live and unless you happen to have a stenographer who speaks the language so sometimes they’ll just say “speaking in Spanish” “singing in Korean” bc the stenographer can’t translate but if you need to use those you can go back and look at what it was

Hi, I am I-ARMY (England). They were amazing, this performance made me cry when I first saw it, so beautiful, elegant yet strong and powerful at the same time. I am so proud of them every time I see them, what they have achieved as a group and how they have grown as individuals, I think most South Koreans won't fully realise the extent of their impact across the globe, it is huge. They could literally fill our stadiums for way more than the two nights that they do, there are never enough tickets available in any country, hundreds of thousands of people miss out every time there is a concert.
It goes way beyond being just music too, they have literally saved lives, they give people in despair - hope, low self-esteem - confidence, feeling useless - purpose. They have helped heal relationships and make people realise they don't have to settle for things that are making them unhappy. They are so humble, courteous and always grateful, they are a real credit to SK, seven beautiful ambassadors!

저도 아미지만 처음 무대 봤을 때는 라이브인가 했어요. 우리 탄이들 늘 라이브만 하는 거 아는데도요. 그래서 이어폰 끼고 들으니 라이브 맞더라구요.

i love how they laugh at the "singing in korean" because the fact that they didn't even put the majority of the lyrics in is kind of funny😭😭
They were on american tv show and the next year Grammy executive producer was there to be impressed (he's the late late show executive producer), so there is no way they were lip sync (and they sang live in Korean award shows as well). US-ARMYs who watched the show in the studio were witnesses also :)
