I can able to select points but it is not showing dimensions, it just draws a line over it. Aahhh m confused. Could you please tell me what is the problem with my autocad.

When I type DIM, its not giving me any numbers, its just extending the lines when I move away?

You should try to increase the text height in your dimstyle
