Thanks for sharing this video Eastside. I'm not an engineer but this is an easy fix if the government and engineers are willing to do it. Viewing the video I can see a lot of land that is not occupied so what the government needs to do is to acquire a piece of that property and use it to build a retention pond. Without that, Port Morant square will always be flooded. The square is flat and all around it is hills so when it rains all the water finds its way to the flat and then there's nowhere for it to go. That's why the river is always flooded so even if they clean the clogged drain, the river will not be able to contain all that water. The fix is one or two very deep retention ponds. All those lands that have not been used would be perfect to do that.
The drains may have collapsed in some places and require repair or replacement. Perhaps clogged with man made items and/or natural items such as leaves, dirt, sand, rocks and sticks.
Good job EM. I hope that the engineers will see this vlog and make the necessary adjustments in the road design plan to ensure that whenever the rivers overflow, the town centre will not be severely impacted.
Please for mercy sake, whenever rain 🌧️ is falling in any floodprown areas of Jamaica 🇯🇲, people in those areas should always contact 😮each other and if need arise they help others who maybe in trouble. ❤😂😮😅
This is the problem the governments them of Jamaican design port Morant wrong all of those new buildings should not allow to build their, i say this before the town need to lift they need to rebuild the town
That is not the problem. The residents throw their garbage in the gully and on the roads. We have seen this on video. The drains are full of plastic lunch boxes and plastic bottles.
@@davidclayton2883 when the now MP took over, the first thing she did was to clear the drain. And it hasn't been done since. Put things in place for the prevention of garbage entering the drain, or clean it regularly. Drudge the river, and improve on the drainage system. The damage to people's property is immense, they should be compensated.
@@trevorvernon8587 My parents taught me not to throw garbage on the roads and in the bushes. My school taught me the same. Perhaps I was one of the fortunate ones. I don't need a MP to clean up after me.
Very good job , keep up the work.
Thanks for the explanation. This is how to separate yourself from the rest.
🙌🙏
Good work again, EM.
You really work hard to give us good content.
I try too ✊️

The first thing they should do is clean or repair the drains to get a baseline analysis of the situation, then proceed from there.
Blessings my brother give thanks for the update
Big up
